Yes very green level. Mario Galaxy was all about gravity. In this level there were many little green islands floating in space that you could travel between by holding giant dandelions and riding the wind currents. This whole song evokes the exhilaration of flight and discovery from a height. (And the song has no end it just loops indefinitely)
This track was actually composed by Mahito Yokota, who collaborated with Koji Kondo to make the soundtrack for Super Mario Galaxy and again for Super Mario Galaxy 2.
A very awesome reaction to such an iconic theme! Here's a cool fun fact: Super Mario Galaxy happens to be the first Mario Game to use a live symphonic orchestra (real people with real instruments). All the games that preceded this used MIDI files (electronic music) for the soundtrack. I recommend listening to Cloudy Court Galaxy or Sky Station Galaxy from Super Mario Galaxy 2 if you get the chance. Those two are equally good. Fantastic job! :)
@@CarleezyGames If you do Sky Station Galaxy from Mario Galaxy 2, then I'd recommend actually not listening to the version titled that and instead listen to the Trailer version of the piece, typically titled "Theme of SMG2" or something. It's the exact same piece but fuller with either more instruments or just a fuller grander sound, AND a special surprise at the end that's not in the normal version that may or may not have something to do with this piece here. At least, all this is for the first theme of Sky Station, that level actually has two songs and the second one doesn't have a special trailer version, but it's also really good.
oved your first impressions!! pretty spot on for the vibe of the map too =) also, I got two song recs for ya. hope you like them 🙏 The Great Sea - The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker Under No Flag - Battlefield 5
Koji Kondo worked on the mario galaxy soundtrack very briefly. He solely composed the comet observatory piece, and good egg galaxy. However, Koji wasn’t even supposed to be involved in the soundtrack at all. Mahito Yokota is the main composer for the game and he was the one who composed gusty garden as well as all the other tracks in the game besides the ones mentioned previously. When the game was in it’s early stages of development Shigeru Miyamoto, didn’t like any of the pieces Mahito Yokota had composed so he called in Koji Kondo to show him how it was done. Koji Kondo is remembered for famously telling Yokota about the soundtrack, “if you think Mario is cute, get that out of your head. Mario is cool”. Koji then composed the two songs I mentioned earlier and helped Yokota out with the rest very briefly. Sorry for the history lesson, jut thought Yokota should get some credit.
Thank you for the feedback. I am beginner musician for sure but I'm learning! I do try to be as genuine as possible and give my take when listening the first time.
Mario is basically the Mozart of videogames.
Have you also seen the paper mario ost too
Naw dude have you heard the Skyrim OST?
I would say that is Sonic, but Mario also has some really good music
So glad this song made it to the Mario movie
OMG was it in the movie? i can't believe i missed this! 🥲
@@CarleezyGames yeah at the end credits

Oh wow!! That sounds awesome!! 🤩🤩
about the ending of this song, it played during gameplay so it just loops over and over again during the level
Oh I would love that 🤩🤩

For sure must give Mahito Yokota credit where credit is due. Such a great song!

@@legoboy7107 Oh that sounds interesting! I'll have to check it out for sure!
This song would not exist if Mario 64 didn’t exist.
It wouldn't exist if koji kondo didn't exist
and mario 64 wouldnt exist without Super Mario Bros NES
@@dhans9662which would not exist if not for the original Donkey Kong.
It wouldn't exist without the fall of Constantinople and the colonisation of the American continent.
I'm literally not joking.

@jameswheeler5025 thank you!!
you don't really need to know a lot about music to appreciate it...
yes because everyone should have a doctoral decree and a thesis before you can even think about listening to music
@@CarleezyGamesi like how you react positively to a mean comment. Nice video btw
