I just tried this, your way of doing this decoupage is amazing!!!! I do wait to add the 1st coat of mod podge on because it caused to much wrinkles, so I wait to add both coats on in between, but you did a great job showing us the basics. Thank you
I love these! I’ve been watching so many videos, searching for really different ideas, and yours is the most inspiring. I have really pretty scrapbook paper, and I honestly didn’t know what I could do w/ it. I purchased them bc they are so pretty. I knew I’d eventually get inspired to use them, but I just didn’t know how! I just found your channel, and I just love it!!!! ❤❤❤
Very nice! Are these coasters water proof? Condensation from cold drinks on these worries me. Also, are they heat resistant so that they can be used for hot mugs?
Nice video. I am new to making coasters and have watched several videos on it. Can you explain adding the water to the napkin before placing it on the coaster? Could you make another video on this same technique and walk us through the entire process without fast forwarding? I would really like to see another one done by you.
Yes please this is My 1st time watching, I had no idea this could be done. Looking forward to your video demonstrating step by step how & why each step is done. Thank you much in advance
Being new to these techniques I had wished there would've been more explanation as to the type of mod podge used. It looks like the fabric product but I'm not sure. Also, no sealer besides mod podge? Cuz MP usually can't withstand heat. I'm thinking if someone put a hot coffee on the coaster.
Hi, I've been watching hours of utube, lol, lots of different crafts and I think this looks easy and comes out great. I can't wait to try this, I wanted to support you especially because you don't have many followers yet, but guessing that will change fast.😁
Your welcome, I have an idea for you if interested? I have a friend who drinks a lot of wine, lol, I had her save corks and figured I could do something with them, I cut in about 1/4 inch or so and attached to 4 corners instead of buying the cork.😁
I knew I was going to give your video a like within the first 20 seconds of watching. I love the way you address the viewers. Very good job. I did not subscribe as I don't generally watch craft videos and was simply looking up ways to use up the 200 tiles I salvaged. If I did do crafts, you would definitely have a new subscriber. If I were to give a little criticism, it would simply be that you could use some more lighting. Maybe work in front of a window during the day or add overhead lighting. Other than that, awesome job. Thank you for what you do.
Thanks for sharing this video! I made some coasters with decoupage technique. I sealed the surface with Mod Podge for 4-5 times. After one week, I used Dupli-Color Varnish and let the tiles to cure for a week. Then when I put a very hot mug on the tile, it didn't stick but there was a deep circle. Could you please tell me what the problem was?
Were you just using water when placing the napkin on the coaster with the brush before you dried it and added the mod podge? I was not clear on that part. Thanks Looks great!
Hi Anabell, TFW! You can but be aware the mod podge is glue based and can't handle high heat. If you can, seal with a top layer of resin. I used the dishwasher safe mod podge. Hope this helps!
I've never seen this done using water to attach the Napkins to the tile before. And what kind of Modge podge did you use? I've not seen the one with a blue label.
Nice job, but you should seal it with something. If you put a hot cup of a beverage on it when you go to pick up the cup it will stick. At least that's my experience. Does this happen to you?
I was wondering the same. I'd love to try this technique but I've seen others seal it with something else after the mod podge. I'm wondering if it will stick as well
Other crafters who do this use Dishwasher safe Mod Page ... AND ... let the final coat dry 28 days to cure. That's a long time, but that's what the Mod Podge instructions say.
Hi, when you wet the napkin and use it with the plastic page protector it smooths the napkin on the surface without tearing. Hope this answers your question.
Hi Shonda, thanks for loving the video! I purchased these napkins on Amazon. I searched for cocktail napkins and then selected the ones that I thought would make nice coasters. You can use dinner napkins as well. I hope this helps!
Hi Dina, TFW! Just ignore the embossed edges. Once the napkin is wet, the embossed edges will disappear...especially once you place the napkin on the glued tile. If this still remains a problem, cut off the edges and reposition the napkin. Let me know if this works.
Hi Jan, so sorry you're having challenges. Try using less water and pat out the excess water. Use a little pressure with soft strokes from the center to the edges. Make sure your plastic sheet is clear of residue and use a flat silicone brush. I hope this helps... you'll be a pro in no time! Let me know if these work for you.😊
I was really looking forward to your video. It started off wonderfully and then you quit instructing the viewer and went into speed mode. This may be fine for the more experienced crafter but for those new to this craft like me it was a let down. I love the finished tiles you showed at the beginning.
Yup, she lost me there too. I won’t downvote this time, but please keep this in mind for future videos, because not everyone can follow, particularly when they’re new to it!
Agreed! She poured a liquid onto the tile from a small cup, was it modge lodge? Then she just used modge lodge directly from its container. It left me a bit confused.
Intro too wordy - Figure out a way to get thru it faster. Finally at 3:20, you said, "ok, let's get started." I would guess a bunch of people stopped watching before that.
Using the waterslide technique is genius! It changed how I did my coasters and made it so easy. Thanks

This is the best way to use napkins on tile! Loved the video help!

Wow I like this method !!! cant wait to try it

Nice. Are you able to sit wet items on it
Beautiful decoupage
Thank you so much 😊
Just saw your video.

Awesome!!!! Will most definitely do.
Great technique. What do you pour on the napkin - water?
These are beautiful, thank you. I subscribed 🙏🏽

Great 👍 thank you for sharing. I'm off to make my coasters 😊
Can you epoxy over the modge podge? or will this be strong enough for hot items?
Thanks for the video. My napkins always crease. Will try your method!

Great instructions !
What type of sealer do you use.
Did you sprinkle water on first?
What size napkins and what size tiles and cork please?
Can you set a warm cup of coffee on these?
Gorgeous.
I DO it like you, let dry then pot decopog but it wrenklrs
So cute and neat! Can’t wait to try this, tfs.

ive also had this problem, from what i have read you need to try resin. i am doing that today and will know if works in 3 days
@@pattibright55 Thanks for your reply. Wish you luck! but Resin is toxic and I don't like to use it. 🤕

Is your top coat heat safe ? Otherwise it’s not very useful
i also cant get passed the layout. the knapkin tears or the tile is bumpy and i cant flatten.
Can I please ask what type of modge podge you used??
You can get it at Dollar Tree or Amazon. It's from the company PLAID
Thank you, so much easier . God bless
Hi Ruth, TFW! So happy to hear you enjoyed the video! Hope you off to making some really awesome coasters!
I am , I am making coasters for the ladies in my praying group .
Wonderful! So glad to hear 😊
Where can I get the backing for the coasters
As she mentioned in video, Amazon.
Looks great can u put hot coffee cup on top? Which mod podge did u use ?
Hi Anabell, TFW! You can but be aware the mod podge is glue based and can't handle high heat. If you can, seal with a top layer of resin. I used the dishwasher safe mod podge. Hope this helps!

Hi and TFW. The blue modge podge is the dishwasher safe. Try Michaels, WalMart and Hobby lobby.
Love these coaster, are the coasters heat resistant?
Hi Michelle, they are not heat resistant however, you can add a layer of resin which most are heat resistant.

I'm trying to understand why you added water to the napkin before decoupaging it?
Hi, when you wet the napkin and use it with the plastic page protector it smooths the napkin on the surface without tearing. Hope this answers your question.

@@diyhookedoncustomcrafts6901 thank you dear I will try your suggestions ❤️
So you don't cure your acrylic tile after you use the modge podge because I've seen that you have to wait 28 days for it to cure.
When I try this my napkin rips
everytime, it's getting frustrating now x
