Yes sir thank you. Some of these guys out there power washing or not using the bleach properly. I have seen so many guys ruin glass unintentionally because they just did not have the knowledge to properly use sodium hypochlorite
@@billydavidsonvip you guys are freaking me out my guy just hit hot on hot windows ughhh & Grrrrr & F%#$!,,. When you say ruined, do you mean not always cleanable? I gotta go back Monday and fix ( not the first time I had to do this but Ive always been able to clean them. Im just worried this time cause like i said it was hot on hot. A good soap and soft bristle brush is what i got so far from yall so thx again for that but at the same time your freaking out about RUINED windows? I thought we could just about everything, right Billy?
I always tell the guys in an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure LOL I bet I get 10 calls a month from guys just starting out itching glass. It's easy to do I've done it myself a few times but learned a few lessons LOL
@@EdgeRoofCleaningCanada etching is probably not the right term. Etching is usually done with an abrasive of some sort and can't be undone. It sounds like it is leaving a difficult to remove residue on the glass. I'm guessing salts from the SH. Regardless of what you call it, this is valuable information. I've watched a lot of videos as I prepare to start my own side business and this is the first time I have heard this addressed. Thanks Billy. You probably just saved me a lot of time/money.
Great video, of note the use of the pressure tip also helps cool the temperature of the water being applied vs simply applying water from a simple garden hose. Compressed or pressurized water is considerably cooler than tap water.
Hi Billy, I have a question. I was washing some concrete and some SH mix got on the window frames of the business I was working for. Its a brown type finish metal. After I was done there were white stains on the metal that wouldn't come off. Looks like water spots but on metal. Any suggestions on how I can remove?
Hi Billy, I followed your instructions on how to apply bleach to storefront glass. It worked out well. It seems like it did a good job of removing all the dirt. So after cleaning with bleach, are you going through and wiping the windows down? I had some water spots but that should only be from the water and not the SH.
Yes you could go back and squeegee the windows or either hand wipe. Also you could get a spot free rents system and use that as an up charge. Most of our customers are happy just with a fresh water rinse after applying to sell him hypochlorite and a thorough cleaning
You say to let it dwell for around 5-10 minutes but then spray it with water to prevent it from drying. Does applying water to the SH on the window take it off before it has the chance to remove the mold and algae?
We had to clean the wall that was above the glass and the frames and a scrub brush would take much longer when cleaning the glass to get in all of the frames and the job does not look as good as treating the entire wall safely
It's a good question though I have seen a lot of guys get scared and use a scrub brush on the glass. Generally speaking it's a lot easier the way I show you in this video and with much better results Also you could come back with a DI system and clean just a glass after it is dry for an absolute perfection
Yes sir that's what I meant is to use a DI to be on the safe side. Thanks for getting back. Keep the videos up bro. I learned alot from u. I also bought the dumpster training from u. Thanks again
This was extremely helpful. One question though- If I’m using 10% SH can I shoot that straight up through the x-jet or do I need to use one of the plastic regulators?
If you don't dilute the 10% sodium hypochlorite you will get approximately 3% out the nozzle with the xjet Also in the description of this video is a link to my website where you can purchase a chemical ratio chart
That is one method to edge to glass. But you could wet glass with 12.5% sodium hypochlorite and wipe it off before it dries it was still edged glass we have to remember that class often times has acrylics in it
@@billydavidsonvip ahhhh that makes perfect sense! I do the same method you do, I wet the glass and cool it off. I’m always very cautious when dealing with glass. Often times I will work in a section and immediately go to rinse mode and rinse off all the glass as soon as I get done applying soap.

For glass that did get etched we had good luck with one-restore to help get it back to normal look.

so this concept cleans the windows without scrubbing?!
so why spray bleach directly on the windows I always wet glass and tried to avoid spraying SH directly on the glass.
A need to know. TY
Would you use 3 percent on brick. Or you just use 1 percent. Thanks for all the videos
Thank you for that sir
Did u use a surfactant? If so, what kind/brand? No brushing? How does it not streak? Also, is that a 40° tip?

hi billy, would soft washing pose a bigger risk due to the mix being a little hotter, do you have any tips on that?

Can I ask y do the glass then. Just wash them regularly with a brush and water

I know it will very, but how long should you pre-rinse to call the down Windows for and how many times as a rule of thumb?
Usually, we will continuous wet the windows for a couple minutes then you can touch it to make sure it's cool to the touch
@@billydavidsonvipok perfect then you could use that for second story windows
How 2 clean if glass had 2 much bleach
Scrub with Dawn dish soap in a car wash brush, then rinse thoroughly

I have used on liquid soap and scrub with with a soft bristle brush then rinse very well

I thought the etching was from letting the sh dry on the glass.

Why would you even spray SH? I really don’t see any organic?
There was some starting to form near the corners it may be difficult to see on camera
