Thank you for creating and sharing this video.
I saw one of these pressure cookers in a video and was trying to figure out how a (round) lid with a larger diameter than the opening could be inserted through the hole. I was curious enough to watch a few instructional videos from the manufacturer, and none of them explained the oval geometry.
    Thanks again!

Can you please make a video on opening the pressure cooker lid to clean the lid ? Over time the lid gets dirty and needs to be opened up to clean.

is your pressure cooker, made of aluminium alloy, or stainless steel ? we had a Hawkins pressure cooker in the 1950's - 1985, the same one, they reduce the cooking time, and reduce your fuel bill, and make a lot of thing very tender, if you like.
I now have a Fissler stainless steel pressure cooker, from Germany, very good. thanks for your videos, there's no messing about.

Well done (if I was Hollywood, I would totally call you). I am trying to decide between a Hawkins (type) and a WMF/Fissler (type). I like that the Hawkins come in the small sizes and now that I understand how the cover works, that secret is solved and sounds good to me. Now I was wondering about that lip around the rim... looking at your beet example... what I do: I peel the beets (cut them into pieces), cook/steam them like you do but without a steamer insert just in the water... and when cooked I add some hot peppers and spices and take a stick blender to make them into soup... now, when making soup or cooking beans/lentils curry style is it difficult to empty it out/get the last remaining bits out? That seems easier with a traditional straight wall none offset rim, the Fissler ones even have a conic wall which seems particularly well suited for the scraping-the-pot-out problem. The way you cook beets you don't have that problem (though I don't know where you go from there... one would think you have beets... you make soup. I take it you blend them afterwards, then use another pot to finish it? I don't have a dish washer... I like using as few pots as possible).
And does the rubber seal thingee last a long time or does one have to replace it frequently?

I make beet salad! Cut them up into chunks, toss with goat cheese and arugula and dress with Olive oil and salt/pepper. Excellent summer salad. If you are stick blending right there inside the cooker to make beet soup and pouring out then yes I supposed the lip on the Hawkins cookers might make that a little bit more difficult/messy but probably not too bad. I've owned my pot for 5 years and the rubber gasket ring is still in great shape, but I do not use my pot super frequently so if you use yours frequently keep an eye on it. But of course they are inexpensive to replace and you can get them on Amazon.

but you would normally do it, with the pressure cooker sitting down, or the contents might fall out, not that you would do that, but some people do not have common sense.
