Loved the 'Out of work actress channel' opening 😂. This is simply the clearest and best explanation of how a stove top pressure cooker should be used. I have never had one .. have to be honest and say they scared me but now I'm just a bit wary and actually might try one, thanks to you 😊. Great video! 👍👍

Thank you! I hope you do try a pressure cooker, they're wonderful tools and can drastically cut down on food prep time. And in honor of this comment I'm going to post a Short, one of my commercials from a time when I was NOT an out of work actress..(sigh) May the acting work kick up again soon!! Enjoy:)

What a fearless woman, if I saw my pressure cooker explode I would throw it away. Good and important video though.

I inherited a WMF German made pressure cooker. It only has the steam indicator thing that pops up on the handle, it doesn’t not have anything else on the lid itself. No safety valve. It does have a hole cut out on the side / rim of the lid. I’m not sure if this is some kind of safety feature. I have not been game to try it even though I really want to cook stew in it.

Can you plug the safty valve to keep on using it if safty valves are not in yiur country?

Hi, in short I wouldn't. The safety valve is there to keep you safe. If it isn't working you run the risk of malfunction and potential injury if something goes wrong during cooking. In this case I'd toss that one and get a new cooker, making sure that replacement parts for the new one are available where you live. Thank you
