@@MyLittleKitchenRecipes I think that the same! Thank you for this video I'm not so scared of a pressure cooker. Do you think that I can cook in this cooker a white rice?
THANK YOU for explaining it so well. I am one of those who never learned how to cook growing up so I am learning now and always wanted to try using a pressure cooker but I'm just too afraid to do so... now I am more confident that I can do it safely. Great job!
Very good question, but it's just not being answered, although alot of folks are asking the same question. Will the video author please answer the question for us. Or do a new video and refer it to us. Thanks.
Practical tip: add two centimeters of water before you heat the pot, and add boiling water from the kettle. You can also lower the heat /turn it down by a quarter once steam starts escaping from the valve /and the pressure indicator has popped up. Then start your timing for the cooking process
Thanks for this tutorial. My mum gave me a stove pressure cooker which I have been terrified to use! I have the instant Crock pot and the scariest part is when the pressure starts building up, sounding louder and louder then abruptly stops. Just like my heart does in those moments.. 😭
Haha, honestly nothing to worry about as its got a safety valve which won't open unless the pressure inside decreases! So no chance of blowing yourself or your kitchen up, luckily 🤣🤣
Hi, thanks for this video introduction. My question is whether you maintained the temperature setting of the hob at 9 for the entire 7 minutes or did you reduce the temperature at some point after the steam pressure was established? BTW I just noticed a comment saying you can reduce the heat by a quarter and then start the timer. How about what you do.? Part of this method is to save energy right?
I been using mine for decades, absolutely fabulous for fresh veg.. best flavours and yes be careful, I'm here as seal is causing longer cooking times, hence this suggested video.👍💕
I have been using a pressure cooker for years. My mother had one too. I wouldn't cook potatoes like that because a lot of the nutrients go into the water. I always steam vegetables in a basket inside the pressure cooker, using very little water at the bottom of the pan. The water does not touch the vegetables.
My mum cooked everything in a pressure cooker. I was always scared of it. Now that our Government have stitched us up by increasing energy prices on purpose, I can't wait to use one. Thanks for the video. X

Thanks, I think ppl in the UK will all be scrabbling about in the back of their cupboards for their pressure cookers now that the power costs have doubled. I know I have. Will be trying chick peas, quinoa and wheatberries in mine to begin with.
Hi. Exactly spot on👌 . It is overwhelming the various instant pots. Electric multi cookers, electric pressure cookers etc. I remember my mother using one of these when I was growing up. (60 yrs) TERRIFIED ME!! Now I need to be brave and get one. Can't afford the electric bill now, never mind when it increases again.
Nicely explained! I just bought this exact same PC and i was a bit lost about where that rubber ring goes...now i realise that they give you a spare one hence there being 2. Duh Great video thank you, huge help!
Thanks for the tutorial, it’s very helpful! One question: in some of the desi YT recipes, the cook instructs to cook for 2 whistles or 3 whistles, which I have not understood as our pressure cooker does not whistle and I don’t know how to translate these whistles into minutes. Please help on this dilemma of cooking with pressure cooker. Thanks in advance.
That’s great. My mum had a pressure cooker years ago that she used - it was built like a battleship. I’ve contemplated buying one before but didn’t know how to operate one and was nervous about blowing myself and kitchen up 😀. After watching your vid, I’m getting one, very simple and safe if you follow the instructions - cheers 👍🏻
Good tutorial! What is also important is that you always polish the lid with a metal polish. If there are fingerprints on the lid and the lid heats up, the fingerprints will burn in and over time the pot will no longer look nice.
You just saved my.life I've just bought one of these and havent a clue how it works. I have the other one with the whistle on top prestige. But how do you k ow its cooked on these new ones
I bought one of these and decided to make some beef bone broth/stock. Trouble is I have never used a pressure cooker before and couldn't see the small print on the instruction manual so discovered your video, hahahaha thanks.
Thank you for that! Seems like all the pressure cooker videos here are for insta-pots, I have an unused one similar to the one you are using and I want to try corned beef in it as I heard it is the best way to cook corned beef.
I always used at stove top pressure cooker. Then I bought an Instapot. The Instapot has its uses, such as sous vide cooking, yogurt making, slow cooking but it takes AGES to heat up. I use my stove top for vegetables but I don NOT cook them in water, as shown in this video. I put them in a basket on a slightly elevated trivet so that only steam is forced through the vegetables and they are not touching the water.
Thanks for the video. Please note that adding water to a pan that is extremely hot, will damage the pan. The surface will get permanently warped and will never again make proper contact with you hob. Pans need to be flat to be heated efficiently.
I have cooled down my decades old stainless pressure cooker with water for over 50 years and it is still flat bottom. I think it depends on the quality of the pan.
Hi! Thank you for the informative video. I just bought mine, but I do not see the red button raising for some reason. The pressure seems to be coming out in all directions with water also dripping from a side, resulting in a burnt bottom layer of the food. Any idea why that me be the case? TIA :)
Really good video thanks for sharing as I don't have a pressure cooker was wondering of buying one these does help how long would chicken or mutton take to cook in this cooker Again I watch most of your food videos and the recipes are great keep up the good work
a good question, not mentioned in the demo. Once it steams up, turn the temp down untill the steam slows down. No steam at all coming out is as bad as too much steam.

Any thing that increase with scum must be controlled drastically as the volume might make the valve on the lid blocked up. Reduce the fire/flame when pressure becomes evident.. It will surely cook on low flame in safety!
Thank you for the video and tips. I have a question regarding the heat setting of the hob. Do you reduce it or does it cook on highest setting all the way through? Because I don’t think you mentioned it. Please let us know. Thank you ever so much
When the pressure "appears" to fill inside the utensil, you can reduce the flame/setting to medium or even lower as it will cook more safely.. you do not have to put much liquid/water and if it is something that will increase in scum, the scum will not block the valve up in the lid as if the valve is blocked with scum, the pressure cooker might explode. Take care about handling it when putting dried grains etc..
