As a former Extraordinary Eucharistic Minister, I one day awoke to my unworthiness to touch Our Lord with my unconsencrated hands. From that day forward I only receive on the tongue. Next I sought out the TLM. Thank you Jesus.

You just described exactly my experience!
I, did my research and walked away from that 'ministry' that was introduced through the Novus Ordo (NO).
I started to wear a mantilla and then discovered the TLM.
Although we no longer have this holy liturgy here in Trinidad, I attend the TLM online but also attend the NO on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation at which I pray the TLM prayers.
I also attend the NO to pray in reparation for that watered-down liturgy and for the priest.

I was baptized catholic but was rarely taken to mass when I was growing up. Cane into the church and received the sacraments as a young adult. At that time, we were taught to receive with our hands. It wasn't until 2 years ago that my husband explained to me why we shouldn't do that... many times people just follow what they're told to do. Thankful that I've changed my ways. Have yet to make it to TLM.

Also and ex "Eucharistic Minister". I began to tremble when administering the Precious Blood. Also, I was not able to offer my own Thanksgiving after Holy Communion as there was the busy-ness and then the awful songs going on which prevents prayer and meditation. I also attend the TLM which is offered on Sundays at my parish and there, at long last, I can truly enter in and pray the holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

During Covid lockdown [April 2020] I too had a revelation about receiving communion on the tongue. I was a Eucharistic Minister as well and learned the truth about that. I was so angry that I had been deceived all those years. Why aren't the priests speaking up on this. There is no TLM near me but there is a wonderful Ad Orientum mass which the priest has his back to you during consecration and there are communion rails so I can receive the Lord correctly. So my family switched to that church. However for many years I sing at another Novous Ordo church. I kneel and skip communion and am the only one in the entire parish that wears a veil. Since I am the soprano I am visible to all. I am hoping hearts will question my actions and convert. I am hoping the children will ask their parents why I wear a veil. Thank you Jesus for the truth. Since I receive on the tongue only my reverence for the Eucharist has increased tenfold. God Bless.

Susan…I, too, attend a NO mass that is ad orientum and the priest is extremely sensitive and supportive to those of us who receive on the tongue. No altar rail unfortunately. I moved recently to this location from a town where I had access to Latin mass year round and hoped I would never have to leave but alas, circumstances moved me elsewhere. I have worn a mantilla for years and do at this new church even though I see only one or two other women also veiling. I had a man stop me one day after mass and ask me about the veil and I was quite surprised because he was my age and I am 60s and raised in pre VII church. I explained to him the purpose of a woman veiling and he was very moved by it. I too hope that I can be a way-shower to other women to not only veil, but to receive on the tongue and take the Eucharist seriously and reverently. Too many people are too cavalier about it indicating to me that they do not truly believe. So sad.

Good going communion on the tongue and veil. We need to be the change we want to be in the world. Also, maybe the last 15 to 20 years I wear a dress or skirt to church. Jesus is probably tired of seeing stretch pants, ripped jeans, concert tee shirts and sweatpants. Blows my mind how people can enter the house of the Lord. Not trying to judge anyone. We live in a middle-class neighborhood where even if you are poor the second hand stores are filled with designer dresses. Some days half off. New wardrobe for 40.00. I feel like people are looking at me. That is ok. I want to dress nice for the Lord. Plus the masses that I sing I want to look nice.

    • @HofB
      @HofB 2 года назад +6

@@susanbarnyak7393 I hear ya. I too wear only modest dresses to mass. Encouragingly I see a few women at least wearing dresses. Yes indeed dress up, veil up, stand tall and be the change. We have a relic of St. Padre Pio in our chapel and in studying St. Pio, he was absolute about proper dress for both women and men to the point of him turning people away from confession and/or mass for not dressing appropriately. We need more Priests like St. Pio. Be the change as long as it’s catechetically aligned. God bless.

      One word: *Modernism.*
It is the heresy that took root, implanted by those who hate the Church, directly in seminaries.
Priests aren't taught to become as Holy, or inspired as they once were. The desire to save souls have often been replaced by something lesser. I fear that most of them do not even know the importance of their homilies. We must pray and do penances for them.

Serving as a "Extraordinary Minister" is what led me to Tradition, aka the actual Catholic faith. Specifically, I gave Holy Communion to a young man who knelt to receive our Lord and something about it all just stuck with me as wrong. That night I found Dr. Taylor Marshall and Tim Gordon's video about communion in the hand and I was appalled and immediately knew the truth of it. I had been lied to just as I had my whole life prior to my conversion the year prior as a Protestant.

I'm not sure who I should listen to when it comes to this subject 🤔
On one hand yes I can see that reverence is important but I can't see the difference or wrongs on receiving communion on the hand. First of all the mouth has more bacteria than the hand especially in this pandemic era when we are constantly sanitising are hands especially when we enter the mass. Another thing is that the tongue is described as evil in the bible. Another problem I have with this view is that it makes Jesus seem harsh and unapproachable, I imagine that if Jesus was there in his human form that he would embrace us with a loving hug and hopefully a kiss, I don't think he would be stand-offish saying don't touch me with your hands. So I have to wonder is communion on the tongue a tradition of men or is it the way that God intended 🤔

@@Dannyboy0202 A few things at work here. 1. It really has nothing to do with bacteria. It's about the nature of the Eucharist as spiritual food and drink, to be treated differently than common sustenance.
      2. It's an error to think that earlier is always better. The liturgy developed organically over time, and with it, disciplines regarding conduct. The early church definitely practiced reverence regarding the Eucharist, and very quickly transitioned to reception on the tongue only. Even in the hand, it was not the bare hand and only in cases of emergency. What happened in the 1970s was a practice born of disobedience and a false sense of seeking more authentic early worship. No one sought the early church penances for sins against the 6th and 9th commandments.

Am I sinning if I receive communion in the hand?
Honestly I think you sound like the pharisees of Jesus's day, they wouldn't even say God's name and prevented others from doing so.
God is not distant, he is a loving father who loves us. He gave the church his authority and whether we like it or not we must obey mother church.
What I see in today's Catholic laity is the tail trying to wag the dog. We see this in all walks of life, we especially see it in professional sports were the fans think they know better than the qualified coaches and managers and if things aren't going there way they want rid of them coaches/managers who know the game far more than they do.
We are living in the age of self when people take photos of themselves and share them looking for attention, sometimes one photo isn't enough for them so they join 2 photos together its crazy, and these are people you should be trying to knock, not a faithful disciple who receives on the hand. I'm no prophet but I do love scripture and I think I know God and I don't think that he will hold it against me to receive on the hand. But should I break one of the 10 commandments he will hold that against me.

I, too, had been an "Extraordinary Minister or Eucharistic Minister" but I never touched the consecrated host or Body of Christ while serving as an EM. I only offered the Precious Blood to Communicants. But, even in that particular activity, I found myself totally and completely unworthy. Soon, I stopped participating as an EM and have not returned as such. I, unfortunately, have no TLM near me at all, so I feel banished from the true Faith. I do participate in Spiritual Communions but I miss actually receiving the Body of Christ. I pray that soon, my Diocese will once again embrace the TLM, so I and my family can belong again. The one occupying the Chair of Peter now is doing so much harm to the Church and the faithful by trying to destroy the TLM. He will never succeed in doing that, but he has and is making so many suffer from his demonic attempts.

What about Our Lords Holy Precious Blood in the consecrated wine? Looks like we've ran out of wine. Jesus gave the disciples His Body and Blood in both kinds not just in the bread. Why aren't we following Jesus teachings? Please will you explain the Grace's we receive from His Precious Blood? And when is it going to be reinstated?

So if I happen to book mass at SSPX that's the only time I can have that. My question is, is SSPX mass valid? I actually so drawn to them and their sermons are very awakening.... Thanks.

@@benedicta7490 of course you don't understand, because it's not common knowledge to us that the foot washing was part of the ordination of priests who were to serve the Lord in the Temple. The Gospel doesn't record the entire consecration ritual that Jesus administered over the Twelve, but to those who heard the recounting in the First Century, it was immediately evident. As for the present day, since the bishops and the pope allow Holy Communion in the hand, the laity incur no sin if they receive in this manner. Yet greater still is the merit to those who receive Him as a little child being fed by its father.

If you are already aware that you should only receive Holy Communion from the consecrated hands of the priest on your tongue, then do not receive it any other way or from unconsecrated hands.
Having this knowledge and ignoring it, will bring condemnation on your own soul.
If you decide to receive spiritual Holy Communion, especially for this reason not to desecrate the Body of Christ with your unconsecrated hands, then you will get all the efficacies of a sacramental Holy Communion.
Also, we should never adopt the attitude that if the Church is in error then the priests and bishops will pay the price for giving Holy Communion in the hand. No! We are one body, and are obliged to pray for them that they change their ways and stop this sacrilege that is condemning their own souls.
Pray unceasingly for our priests and religious!
I too am from an island, Trinidad in the West Indies, where we once had the TLM for a short time.
May God grant you the wisdom and discernment to follow in His Truth!

The Holy Spirit of God is ever-present, so therefore when the priest consecrates host, he is essentially utilizing his priesthood to be the priesthood of Christ and perform the miraculous ritual of Transubstantiation to infuse the Real Presence into the host and wine, turning it effectively into the Body and Blood of Christ, as a remembrance of what Christ did at the Last Supper. The blood that Christ spilled at the Cross is the currency and gold backing up the now-bloodless sacrifice we offer up to God.

    • @catherinearnett7206
      @catherinearnett7206 2 года назад +2

I would say that although Christ is not here in the flesh, literal flesh as he was when he was in Galilee 2,000 years ago, the Holy Spirit has the imprint and breath of his DNA, effectively still conveying it over millennia and keeping the Real Presence as alive and well as ever.
