@@HellzDrifter it isn’t a basic oil change when the oil filter is hidden inside a hidden canister ! However when trolling the internet for self esteem enrichments ,I could see how my comment was targeted !!
Dude excellent video very well done I like the way you took your time explaining everything in detail the only change I would make is fiddle farting around with that ratchet I believe I would try to find a longer extension to go on the racket and then put the 32 mmmm on the end of the extension other than that you done a hell of a good job young man 👍👍👍👍👍ç👍
I highly recommend changing your oil on these 2.4 GM motors every 3000 miles.. NEVER go by the oil life on the dash!!.. These vehicles have extremely dirty internals from Carbon build up due to a Bad design from GM. These motors also have a bad PCV design. I recommend install a catch can system to avoid blowing out your front and rear main seals, the OEM pcv system tends to plug up easily.. Last thing is to overhaul your complete timing chain system every 100k miles. Id also pull the valve cover off every 50k miles and inspect for timing chain slack..
I have a 2015 2.4 L GMC Terrain SLE. I feel like this vehicle burns too much on fuel than it should. Any recommendations? When I check the guage it has 17 mpg and best avg is 23.5 mpg. I'm keeping it parked as much as possible at this point. Planning to do an oil change soon.
It all depends on the brand gas you're using, 87,89, 90+? I got the best mpg with shell 89 octane non ethanol gas. I was avg around 27-28 mpg on a level road using that gas. Unfortunately, that was yrs before gas went way up, so now I just use 87 ethanol and only get around 24-25 at best. Thanks Joe >:(
Tough question! Without any sophisticated scientific testing equipment, its almost impossible for me to say which one is better..... But I'd say I prefer Shell Rotella
That was really good bro you took your time it was really understandable really comfortable and tonight I am going to change my own oil thank you very much
Dumb question, when driving your terrain onto the ramps did you have an issue with the bottom of the front bumper hitting the ramps before the tires got onto the ramps? Thanks
3/8 extension + universal 3/8 joint + shallow 32 socket + 3/8 ratchet (the long handle kind)....i also had to use a 3/8 to 1/2 adapter for the socket....no idea why they made this so hard
Just tried to do an oil change on a 2.4 Equinox and didn't have that stupid oil filter housing 32mm. Autozone and O'Reilley's didn't have it. Not I have to go to Harbor Freight 😂😂😂

Excellent video for DIY people that don’t trust the lube crooks !
You have a great teaching technique
Look forward to more
Thanks
You needed a video to teach you how to perform a basic oil change? Oh poor bubba. 😂😂😂😂😂

@@garylam6233 It’s basic to us, canister filters are common on vehicles these days and still easy to swap out.
Can I just say thank you for this video. It helped me tremendously changing oil on my terrain for the first time. You rock!
Great to hear!
Well done. This is the only video you need to watch on this subject.
Thank you Soo much for providing the links they're incredibly helpful!
The only other person I’ve seen put in that extra half a quart. Good shit bro keep it proper like a bk whopper

I have an oil catch can for my wife's 2012 Terrain and it's been an engine saver.
Yeah I put one on my wife’s 2012 terrain also. Another thing to look out for is changing your transfer case and diff fluid a couple times a year..
I have 2 oil catch cans and added a pcv valve system to the terrain. No problems at all, only issue those engines like to burn oil ALOT.
the oil filter is to be install on the oil filter cap before you insert into the engine
This is great video. Very well done thank you!!
muy profesional, buena explicacion y excelente video gracias me ayyudo batante.

27 years on this earth and it took me to now to do somthing so easy also learned Q tips aren’t used for your ears…. I’m leveling up lately.
Good job!!! Which oil you like better the Mobil 1 or shell gas rotella?

Great video to do self. Thank you

Ohh that's how you open the hood...thanks👍🏼😉
Super video and well explained! Thanks dude!!
This the same for 2016 sle 2.4?
Thank you!
Use a long extension on your ratchet, makes things a lot easier.
Perfect! Thank you!!
Nicely Done, It was thorough and covered everything. Thank You.
You're very welcome!
My only concern is which way do you put the filter.
Take note when you pull the old one out which way it goes in.
Dumb question, when driving your terrain onto the ramps did you have an issue with the bottom of the front bumper hitting the ramps before the tires got onto the ramps? Thanks
I did not, but some ramps are higher than others.
Thankyou ! I think I can do this.
This is great, but use better supports for safety.
Great video
Awesome video & GR8 Dedication.......
Definitely covered all information well.....
Thank you kindly Sir.....👍👍👍
Appreciate the help you the M a n!

I’ve also started using the 32mm-3/8 swivel-x2 long 3/8 extensions- 3/8 ratchet to remove the cap. So much easier
Is this oil good for 2020 GMC!
I'm not sure, Please check your owners manual to confirm!
👍👍
Everybody always say ramps are dangerous. If you use jack stands, I don't see the problem

A 32mm wtf gmc
Thank you 🙏👍
