    I didnt have a note book so i turned a tv channel on which had text on it. It worked i had a false awakening. I checked it and the H on the tv was looking odd, i was aware that is was dreaming. I was still in bed i tried flying but i could only levataite. I went outside and tried it again but the dream shortly ended. This worked im so proud.

    The first half of the practice matches a little with what I attempted the first few months of getting into the subject: set an alarm every hour or 30 minutes and attempt a reality check. It seemed to give me my best run of lucidity…for a while. Diminishing returns set in, which is unsurprising considering I was doing it every single day. Good thing I wasn’t doing the sleep interruption at the same rate . But as mentioned, once it became novel, that by itself constantly wasn’t the magic bullet that I thought it was in the long term.

      Thanks for sharing that Jared, you're spot on with the diminishing returns concept. It's a good brute-force approach, but as we all know, that can only take you so far :)

      @@xynlep3736 Well, not all are highly successful ones. Some are just low-level lucid of "I know I'm dreaming, cool, let's summon in better people and continue the storyline that's already going on here, while lucid, until I wake up." Only every 3-4 dreams are ones with 100% waking-level lucidity.
      So it's not a major success.

    2:30, you can actually add to this! there are several other "reality checks" for example:
    Check your hand, Do you have 5 (or less if ur an amputee) fingers? is your hand normal? if the answer is no youre dreaming
    Cover your nose, Can you still breathe? If yes youre dreaming
    Look at a phone and check any text/time, if its weird or changes youre dreaming
    Try pinching your arm, if you feel nothing youre dreaming
    2 works because you cant stop breathing if youre in a dream, hope this helped anyone!

    Well, this was unexpected! I did not expect a new technique, let alone one with sleep interruptions. But I can see how it allows people who are new to the subject to dip their toes in the water, before hopefully going on to learn more about LD, beyond techniques.
    As for the channel changes: My father likes to say that "love it, change it or leave it" is the one piece of advice that can be applied to anything, and it will always be true. I'd much rather you make ch-ch-changes than leave the channel behind - and I'd like to think that all of your followers want you to be happy with what you do.

      Thanks MD, I appreciate it. It sounds like you might be trying to hard with the maintained awareness dreams (I prefer that term, WILD always required explanation), you really need to give it a light touch. Remember, there is only one thing you need to do... maintain awareness. You can't make the dream come, you can't force anything, so any signs of stress or effort (beating heart) are signs that you're doing it a little wrong. If you've not done so already, that free course here on the channel should make all this clear.

    Ps4 wont let me edit a comment..But here is an exerpt from my dream journal after drinking: oh boy, this one was extra strange. My dad and Iwere trying to stop some company from doing something bad. We snuck into their house by crawling under th basement wall to cut off their internet. On the way, dad got captured. I sprinted home, coming up with a plan. My brothers ex was there with 2 daughters my age (she only has one, and 10 years younger than me). They were gonna help me. We had to stop the transport. With some guys help, we rescued dad. To get away, i threw a chain across the road to stop 2 busses following that guy with dad. I ran infront of them and picked them up. They were now toy busses, and i threw them in the woods by mcdonalds, and ran home. Got seperated from tina (brothers ex). But found her breaking into my house to wait for me. I went back to the companys house (my cousins demolished house at the end of my road), but bigger. A guy there tried to frame me with some magnet recording device, but i slapped it out of his hands. His daughter helped me escape out her window over the balcony(got that parkour), while her mom was looking for me. I jumped ans slid down the hill, careful to avoid her gaze, and sprinted home.

    Please let me know if I was having a Lucid Dream or astro projection ? This is what happened two days ago : I was having a dream then all of a sudden I realized that Im having an Out of body experience. Everything became so real in 1 second. Nothing was fuzzy like a dream I was in full awareness and control. I read many books about obes and I realized that Im having one. I was so happy and excited that Im finally in one. I wanted to try to fly through my roof and above my house. All of a sudden I shot out like a rocket through my roof and into the sky . I could feel the wind as I was flying, It was the most amazing thing ever. I projected flying over my house where I grew up as a kid. Then I projected myself to fly over a garden with waterfalls in the sunlight . It was so amazing that what ever I commanded in my mind I was doing. I was in a whole new level of control.I cant believe this is happening. After I landed I wanted to see if I could project someone to apear in front of me. I tried to project Salma Hayek but nothing was happening, It didn't work. At this moment I started to get scared. The moment I started to get scared everything started to get a little dark. I remember how people who had astro projected think of their bodies and pop back in them. This was not working for me. I can't pop back in my body . So now Im really getting scared. This is not fun anymore, I started thinking maybee I stopped breathing and Im dead because I have Sleep Apnea. I told myself omg Im stuck in this astral world forever. As I was walking through a dark hallway looking for other people I felt something brush against my arm. In dreams I never felt or touched anything physical but this was not a dream anymore. I turned around and there was a clown big doll about 4 feet high standling and looking at me. All of a sudden it wobbled and grabbed me. I wrestled it down and it melted. It did not hurt me I was still in control. At this point I asked God to please put me back in my body so I could wake up. All of a sudden I was back in my bed fully awake and scared and excited the same time. I was so happy that I text a few people around 6 am letting them know I finally had an OBE. What I relized where I went wrong in my out of body experience is that I let fear take over me. And that is what caused the dark energy and other things to apear. If I would have stood the course of projecting beautiful places like the garden I flew over, things would have been better. What I experienced is a new beginning in astral travel or lucid dreaming. I feel I could have another one without being scared. I just need to project beautiful things and places and get rid of any dark energy.

      It was a GENUINE lucid dream - what you've described is a classic lucid dream. Lucid dreams are not fuzzy, they feel entirely real. Astral projection is not a real thing, it's basically complete new-age nonsense. If you see someone talking about astral projection as if it's real, they are a con artist or very very misinformed.
      So congratulations on a real lucid dream!!!! (you should feel very proud of yourself)

      When you find yourself in the dream, narrate what you're doing. So "I'm walking down the road, I can see a tree, this is all a dream" etc. etc. This helps stabilize your lucidity. To stabilize the environment, engage all your dream senses with the surroundings. So basically go a bit bonkers, touch, taste, sniff, shout etc.

    Ok, now that the attack is (mostly) over, I think I can comment without getting to many negative emotions.
    I'm still very mixed on the changes. I saw the first of the multiple rounds of changes today after I woke up which caused me to freak out. I don't particularly like change all that much and I've been using the channel as kind of an anchor for a while due to things that I shouldn't say on here. This has happened multiply times with the channel (this is the 4th time it's happened this year). I'm only saying this as a preface as I'm not trying to be negative - I'm trying to be understanding during a rough day.
    I've seen comments where you've said that you feel more genuine during this and if that's the case, that's great! I don't particularly like the new style as I typically can zone out a bit while watching these (as they are relaxing) but these new ones are making me feel a bit too stimulated? It's kind of like the older videos that were on when I first started watching. I understand and know why you are doing this (and it's even better that you like it and feel comfortable with it!) but something doesn't seem to be clashing. Again, I mean no disdain, it's just a shock in the system. At the end of the day, my opinion really doesn't matter and I'm not the one running the channel!
    What I'm trying to say is it may take time for me and others to get used to this. I'm a very easy person to get frustrated or mad whenever a perceived threat comes my way and this channel changing felt like a threat to an anchor that has kept me mostly sane and rational. This is my last main comment for today as I don't want to feel like I'm trying to throw a pity party, but it's going to take a while before it feels normal. I trust you and hope that this will keep the channel alive and make it thrive. I also may need to go out to the store later and pick up a prepaid card so I can join membership! This is only my two cents during the calm of the storm that my mind is in. Take care and I'll stick around, doing my job as a feeder of paragraphs to Bob.

    • @LucidDreamPortal
      @LucidDreamPortal  Год назад +2

      I totally understand Stumped - I can't please everyone. But it's no exaggeration that it was either improve or stop and focus on my research, books, and teaching. And I think everyone would prefer the channel to hang around. Try to see it as part of your lucid dream training. Flexibility is vital with this subject, more than vital... it is the only way to grow. There is a genuine correlation between lucid dreaming and running a youtube channel... and doing the same thing over and over, and expecting different results, never works for anyone.
      I would highly recommend that you don't invest too much of your emotional wellbeing in external factors. Invest that energy in your inner-strength. Can you imagine how anxiety inducing a change like this is for a creator? The only way I can deal with that sort of thing myself is to build a strong sense of self, and remind myself that the choices I make should always be to either a) be happier b) be stronger or c) grow.
      That sometimes means making changes that don't please everyone, but trying to please everyone is a path to pleasing no-one.
      I hope that makes sense.
      In all seriousness, I think you'll settle into the changes. It's really just a distillation of everything I already do.

    • @StumpedSlicken
      @StumpedSlicken Год назад +2

      @@LucidDreamPortal I get that and it's whatever makes you happy at the end of the day that matters! I would love that the channel hang around and become stronger. Hopefully (Probably) these changes feel natural, it's just a shock to the system on a very difficult day for me. I'm not trying to slam you, just saying what you basically said to others - those who genuinely support the channel will stay around, which I will do because it's helped me out a lot. And yes, I probably do need to start focusing on all the stuff that I've put on the backburner but that's personal matters. Just know that the channel helped me not do multiple bad ideas.
      I wish you well on the journey and I'll stick around as well. I hope that soon you'll be able to run the channel and not have to worry about sacrificing passions over each other. Take care!

    haven't visited the channel in a while and i was so confused watching this with the changed channel name. because everything you said here seems to contradict what you said in the course , ie don't rely on technology for reminders and insomnia inducing practices. but i guess it's good to do sparingly?

    • @LucidDreamPortal
      @LucidDreamPortal  Год назад +2

      No contradiction here. Consider this a "taster technique" for absolute beginners and the casually curious who don't have the time to invest as much energy and effort as is required for long term regular lucid dreaming (as I explained in the intro).
      I'm wanting to give everyone a chance to experience this amazing state, whatever their level of commitment and curiousity. And for those who want to delve further, then the course will put them on track for a suitable practice.
      Casual practice and long term dedicated practice require different approaches.
      For a metaphor: consider this technique the equivalent of mouthwash (a quick fix for a fresh mouth), whereas the course is long term dental hygiene. Considerably more effort but sustainable and far better.
      Hopefully that makes sense.

    Hold up did I miss something? I thought the plan was to not change this channel but to create a new one that will be called "Lucid dream tonight", but now it seems to be the other way around. Please clarify.
    Also some feedback on the new format. I understand why you're doing this and one can only hope that it will please the masses, but I must admit that I find the new "comedic aspects" quite distracting and not particularly entertaining. Might just be me as this channel was never about entertainment for me but rather about knowledge. I guess let's just hope that it'll end up being worth it for you.

    • @LucidDreamPortal
      @LucidDreamPortal  Год назад +1

      Everything will be explained fully in tomorrow's live stream, but in a nutshell...
      Not enough people supported the second channel idea, and I don't like begging/nagging for support - and when it comes to the crunch - I am going to make choices that are in the best interest of keeping this channel alive.
      The options were either: close the channel completely OR going into full-steam mode to make improvements so that it can survive. I'm hoping that everyone would choose the latter.
      I have learnt a lot in 6 years of running a channel, and it is time to put that into action. That means changes and improvements.
      Hopefully you guys can trust me, as I more than anyone want my channel to succeed, and I don't make changes lightly :)
      I'm also aware I can't please everyone, but I do need to do what pleases me... else there's absolutely no point in running a channel. Most importantly, if it's not achieving its aim to reach as many people as possible to share sorely lacking accurate information on the subject, then change is required.
      I'm aware some might not like it, but I've made the hard (and it is hard) decision to assume that the people who are genuinely supportive of what I do will understand that changes are required, and making them is infinitely more stressful and hard work for me, and hopefully be supportive of that process. And those that really don't like it, well I guess I just have to assume that they weren't people who genuinely cared about the channel or its goals.
