Valve doesn’t have a rivalry with Microsoft or anything but ever since the early 2010’s they hated the idea that their platform (steam) and games were reliant on windows. They opposed the idea so much that they began creating their own desktops with an early version of steamOS so they could break free from Microsoft. It didn’t work back then but when they made the steam deck they really went out of their way to perfect steamOS as much as they could. They went so out of their way that they even created the proton compatibility layer on steamOS so even windows games without Linux support could run on steamOS.
I can’t imagine any company that desperate to break free from Microsoft’s dependency would ever consider selling out to them. Just my two cents.

EA offered to buy Valve in 2013, and they responded saying "Valve would rather disintegrate than to ever sell out." So yeah, MS isn't buying it.

Wasn't there a Microsoft/Sony leak (iirc bc idk) that detailed a private conversation between the higher-ups who want to aquire Nintendo and Steam, even calling process "slow". Nintendo would never sell out because the Japanese government wouldn't allow it, and Steam generates billions annually from sales. If Microsoft wanted to propose an offer, they need to put more zeros on their billions.

Honestly, when I saw the sv_vac command, the first thing I thought was that it will allow you to access overwatch. Also, I don't think Microsoft will buy Valve. Steam is big and profitable enough, to not need to be bought by Microsoft. And why go public when you don't need to.
Even if Valve were to sell out to Microsoft, it would be boycotted by Steam users.

@@watatungakhalifi7591 Valve selling to microsoft is 0 to nonexistent, if you offer 60billion today and get rejected, you will have to offer more than that if Valve keeps increasing their numbers. Microsoft acquisition of Valve will take years if not decades so I believe this is just the beginning.
