My post about Customer Service NPC’s: www.8020service...
I help businesses get customer service right. More here: www.8020service.com
Customer service destroyed my opinion of people. I am VERY sensitive and it effects me. I am a flight attendant btw. The company always wants you to be kind no matter what!!
And that is what breaks the human mind, companies should care about their reps by banning/removing these individuals. But all the big heads care about is money.
@@BALAAABOYYYY222couldn’t say it better
I felt the same way with h&m! That was a big mistake on my pert lol!
Right! I'm like what? No way. I'm not going to be kind no matter what if people are rude to me. I'm not going to be kind
Customer service makes you hate people
You really get to see all sides of people. Usually otherwise I don't see many people during my days and often I choose who I see. Don't have that liberty at work .
I know, right? I had 3 retail jobs and with the exception of one that was a temporary bookstore job, they were hell!
Oh yeah !
You are not customer service, you are a doorstop to keep complaints from reaching management. You are never given the tools to actually help so the customers have to resort to civil and government actions to get even the simplest things done.
Because customers think they’re entitled to anything they want and when you tell them no, they throw a fit
I totally agree. It's like they think we are deliberately trying to ruin their day
@@BrianMcCormack-rb8sqAnd they fucking ruin my day
I’ve experienced that 2 weeks ago. I hate it and I didn’t regret informing my resignation earlier. 18 days left for working here
@@Afternoon998 days for me.
@@LeahMT. thank you!
My mental health has been tanking because of customer service. Answering a phone to 70% entitled and ignorant yelling folk. I’m been taking my frustrations out on my family and friends. This shit is bullshit. But I can’t quit… I’ve never wanted to die more than now. Waking up to days that I work, depression just kicks in.
I get you!
10 years have passed and the mere thought of going back to that soul crushing tech support call center job makes me ILL.
I hope you find your way out
Maybe you can work in cleaning, manufacturing, warehouse, dishwashing? It might be easier for you.
same here i quit from the first day of job and i really regret this decision but now im searching again for an opportunity because i need to work but at the same time im feeling depressed idk what to do with my life again
I felt this same exact way when I worked at h&m! I'm not a people person so idk why I gave myself hell. The only reason why I even did that job was because of the discounts at the mall here in Seattle! It was a seasonal job but it felt like hell and I unfortunately didn't do that good of a job lol!
As a filipino that works in customer service just know behind closed doors i hate people. I despise people. Once i clock out, if i see a customer getting robbed, i would do absolutely nothing. Working customer service for years has made me not give a flying fuck.
I swear. People are trash 😂 you're basically being paid to be a human punching bag for people that hate their lives.
Some of us are good and told by customers all day that we are pieces of shit which is stressful and causes a person to not perform as well!
Just walked out of a customer service job. You summed it up perfectly
Just left the call center. I can hear angels singing.
🤣😂😂😂 I haven’t heard those angels sing for over 6.5 years.
I thought my work was stressful because I hated people and I knew they hated me. As I've grown older, I've just come to realize that our society expects people to behave in a manner that subconsciously robs everyone involved in business transactions of their own agency. I do genuinely care for people, which is why I hate being fake with them. Businesses have perpetuated a system to manipulate and control people's base instincts and feelings to keep them coming back--it does nothing but sicken me every day that I need to be told to keep it moving when there's clearly things about the industry that need to be fixed.
We're all people here, so why can't we treat each other with basic decency?
Thank You
I worked customer service for a company that got fined by the DOJ for scummy price fixing practices. Ofc we are not given any tools to help people. Only scam them. If you help them, you're fired, if you don't help, then you're fired. You're just a punching bag to prevent any concerns from reaching those subhumans up there in management.
You hit the nail on the head. Customer service jobs are horrible. I’ve done it for years but lately I dread logging on and I work from home. Searching to do something, anything different.
I'm looking into computer programming but tbh am really not a computer type. It's tempting though....
Same
@@BrianMcCormack-rb8sqThat’s what I'm working toward. Currently in a product customer support role but am far over the daily external/customer success team (non technical) interactions.
I just got hired for a customer service job and I work from home too. I’m on week 2 of training and I already dread logging on.
I hate when people don't get straight to the question and I can't stand when asked to spell my name, u get burned out
Right. Been dealing with this for over 6.5 years. I know exactly why everyone is divorced. Nobody listens. Life is alllllllllll about them
I believe customer service reps should be able to fight QA.
Good video, mate. Customer service is a trap, and I have been stuck in it for 15 years now - trying so hard to get out. I hate people and the phones so much....the problem is, once CS is on your resume that is all companies see and that is the only jobs they offer to you. What would be your advice to ditch the phones for good and never to look back? I am at wits end! so burnt out it's only a matter of time before I snap.
Can you tell me why it’s hard for you to get out?
I'm going to show this video to my manager so he can better understand my perspective. Only difference in my job is we are expected to be npc's with inconsistent, unwritten instructions.
Work customer service/call center/police, shows you how awful people are that most people don’t understand.
Best advice I have ever been given was from a boss who also owned the company "a real customer service rep, one who is doing their job, doesnt care about making friends with their immediate supervisors , they care about their customers. I've stuck with that my whole life.
*stuck
@@melanier7309 yeah yeah yeah I'm fixing those mistakes right now:)
Get a new mentor!!!!!
Yeah, if q customer gets mad, nervous, or frustrated, I'll do my best to help them, but cursing and yelling at me is one thing.
Exactly!
What sucks in customer service is not to have as much control as you'd like to, simple things sometimes are more complicated than they should be and have to be escalated because front office does not have the tools or control over it and that it's something I hate a lot as a representative.
TRUE
It's stressful because I don't like people
spot on bruh
SAMEE lol! Also stressful because I am enrolled full-time in school and the way I’m scheduled is just insane. It’s like I don’t have a work-life balance.
The sad thing is that I was not, Ever since working at a call center for 6 years. I’m losing my fucking patience with everyone. My mental health is tanking and I’m taking out my anger on my loved ones. Because I have to be kind to those that shit and yell at you. I’ve never wanted to strangle people more than anything in my life than now. Especially when I hear an entitled or ignorant fuck.
I feel it! I'm introverted and socially awkward. I try and be friendly to anyone but I just can't with rude and disrespectful people!
We r treated like shit and non sense targets wish I can find a better job
I'm so glad I work at a better job and not a retail job! Lol!
I think truly the best thing to do is open your own business or to find a remote job as I feel it's good to work from home and has advantages. I recently got offered to start my business from home it's just i have to get the funding first
It doesnt matter the age or demographic, in a call center its alot of adult children cuttin heads like kids in jr high school.
You are a genius , I wonder why your video do not get 500 000 views at least
Hey everyone! Working as a cashier has really taken a toll on my mental health. On my days off (like today), I just don't have the motivation to do anything and feel mentally exhausted almost all the time. How do you all deal with feeling this way?
I just stared at Starbucks and I hate it and am stuck here because of need of college benefits.
Minimum wage minimum effort 😂
I said what I said
Airport customer service here 😢🙃
Thank you I’m quitting the worst part is that they get you with awesome benefits and good work conditions smh I’m a sell out. Sike I’m quitting. Sike idk if I am ugh!!!!!!
This is the best video I have watched.
i wanna just correct one small point for your information about Philipinos, you are correct on the side of when they are agents but and but if they are supervisors and managers they will turn the job to hell, I work with them for extensive years here in Dubai.
Filipinos, most Indians etc.
Customer service jobs are mostly stressful for people who don't like people.
I love people. I just don't love not being able to cuss them out and check them.
Shawnti that's a really stupid statement.
@@kawaiicoded touchdown!! lol
I love people as well I just don’t like being disrespected by everybody plus customer service is like one of the lowest paying jobs to most customer service jobs are minimum wage and not only that the most customer service jobs your chances of being disrespected go up 6 x more than a job you don’t have to service people
It has nothing to do with what you do or don’t like what it has to do with is choices why choose something that’s going to pay you so little and cause you so much stress when you can go get something that will cause you less stress no stress or even pay you better it’s choices It don’t matter what you like it matters what you choose to do and why choose that if you don’t have to
Also Like he said If it was a properly ran business nobody there would be stressed or atleast the amount of stressed people will go down
Also you in 2022 right now meaning no one really likes people look at the way people have got
Bro I literally went to sonic yesterday and the manager was screaming at this guy for calling his 17-year-old employee a whore because she messed up his burger this girl was literally in tears
I don’t think it’s about whether or not people like people Because you’re still gonna be disrespected doing customer service at some point like badly
You become a drone like a robot and deal with it or find something different like I said before choices not likes
I just want to grab a bat and scare them. A away so they don’t make any mess lol
Renting cars at an airport
Great video! Keep going.
Very good insights!
This video doesn’t have half the likes it deserves, especially considering the rise in WFH cs jobs.
Somebody needs to find a way to innovate doing lot at the home Depot. Like why don't they have a truck that you can put all the carts from the cart Corrals in to, so you can transfer to the front doors. How much has this job changed in the last 20 years it hasn't. No job should stay the same they should all innovate and change. It's a tremendously positive thing to work in customer service but I just have to question who elected the managers and the employees. Why is it only one employer and one interview for a job. Can't we try to have elections with who can be hired and who can't based off of the multiple interviews.
All of this
I was with you until the weird Filipino comments and advocating for outsourcing.
This is a bit all over the place.
Describing theory X
Burglar alarm guy!
Are you defending retail workers or the corporate way? Confusing video. Get it together and make a point
