- Happy Monday My Wonderful Friends! So here's a subject of a belief I've heard several people mention here on youtube " Are long nails unclean? So here's my opinion on this subject. Have an awesome week :)

LMAO girl I have the same luck. Anytime I'm in a rush after working to run to the store really quick I will run into someone important or someone I haven't seen in forever. But if I'm perfectly clean and presentable I don't run into anyone. 😂😂😂
If only people had listened to your handwriting recommendations!! I still find that short nails get dirty much quicker than long nails. And yes, I still carry a small nail brush with me!!

There’s definitely a negative connotation towards long NATURAL nails. Everyone assumes they’re dirty but never second guess if fake nails are dirty 🙄 they don’t know the extra steps we do to take care of our nails 💅🏼
Yes!!! My grandmother and her best friend Gina had long natural nails and I learned how to take care of my nails watching how they did it. Now I do my own manicures and pedicures. My mom had long nails when I was growing up, and those that know her know that she's excessively cleanly. My ex husband had beautiful hands and I loved looking at them. I even used to give him manicures because they were so beautiful. Lol. I always have long nails, but I broke 2 in 1 week last month during a power outage in my town and cut them all down. You are so right!!! I Never had dirt under my nails when they were long, but now that they're short, it's driving me Crazy!! Lol. Tfs

Well said...mine are long and natural I do all my own housework and normal jobs...I do a lot of typing too. When Ive done my manicure I varnish the back of my nails too...constantly clean them..have brushes by my sinks...hand creams and no problem mine are cleaner than most peoples who have short nails.

I have long natural nails and I have to agree that long nails require extra care to keep them clean. It is easy to get food and cosmetics stuck under your nails. It can get gross fast if you do not make it a point to clean under your nails often.

I hate it when people don't wash their hands . It only takes a few minutes. Your daughters nails and hands are beautiful. You taught her well.

I agree with everything you said, how clean or dirty your nalis are(short or long) depends on how clean or dirty the person is. I cook for myself and when cooking foods that require my hands, I use gloves. Great chat.
It's really true when people say that you can tell a lot by someone's hands. Yes, we get dirty if we're working, but once the work is done, wash them and scrub your nails. I think the natural progression is that if someone doesn't keep good hygiene standards with their hands and nails, what else are they not maintaining good hygiene with? Clean hands and nails; no excuses. Much love to you xxx

I have long nails and I always wash my hands several times, it all comes down to having an overall personal hygiene, it doesn't matter if you got long nails or short. Your story telling had me LOL... thank you I need to LOL. =)

I love this video! I also have very long natural nails, and have had people imply to me that long nails are dirty and full of germs....and I always tell them that my nails are not dirty because I wash my hands and scrub my nails with a nail brush a lot. Like you said in this video, it just depends on the individual.....if they are a person who has poor hygiene, it doesn't matter how long or short the nails are, their nails will carry a lot of germs. I think short nails get dirt because you use your nails and fingers to grab and open everything and they are exposed to more stuff. With long nails you are more mindful of how you grab stuff and open things.

You are a nail inspiration to me. I am obsessively clean about my nails as I hate seeing dirt in my nails. Thanks to you I am successfully growing out my nails after years if short unhealthy nails. I still love doing gardening and don’t mind if my nails get grubby. Once I’m finished I scrub up and moisturise everywhere even under the fingernails. Thanks for all your info and inspiration.

I think you showed in a video about 6 months ago that you started using it, so i'm wondering if you are still using it and what your review of it would be now. (Ive considered trying it but id love to know how you feel about it now).
My very long nails are real, thou i keep an overlay on them. So I am also looking for something better then the last to put underneath. I always use a strengthener. But ive switched brands a few times to find my favorite. And even thou they grow nicely, id love finding something that would help even more.

I actually like a small round facial brush for cleaning my nails. They are soft and the bristles are more flexible. If you feel the bristles are too long just trim them as evenly as you can.
I touch my face so make-up gets on my nails. We do this unconsciously most of the time. So the oils from our skin can attact debris as well. If my nails are short it is more work to clean the debris out. Longer and the brush bristles can do a better job because your nails are a foundation of support.
I wouldn't do bling on my nails because it just seems to be something that would catch on things. I used to love nail polish color, but now I prefer a natural nail. I agree that it is the individual who is responsible for clean hands and nails.
I tried acrylics for a couple of years, but it was so much time taken out of my days and if the acrylic nails broke it was so painful. So, I love the videos for care and repair! I'm just starting to watch your videos and love them so far!

Hi from India. I view all your videos and they are awesome, I love the way you speak, with so much of details, even when it was your health update. I don't remember ever commenting under you videos. But this video, really needed me to comment. I love your daughter's nails, she has such lovely, feminine hands, yes sure she could model for nails. I don't know why, but when I see such beautiful hands, I imagine a beautiful face and I am sure she is very pretty. I too have a beauty channel on you tube, I do nail art, makeup etc., My daughter will turn 17 this month and has the most delicate hands and lovely nails, but she has to cut it and keep them short, because schools in India do not permit the girls to wear long nails. But when she is on holidays she grows her nails and loves long nails.

It’s funny that you looked at your daughters hands when she was born because that’s one of the first things I looked at on my daughter as well, I was so happy to see she had long beautiful fingers and long nail beds like her dad. Your nails are amazing 😉 I can get my nails quite long and then they get so far and a couple start to peel I always have them varnished and oil them and yes keep them clean most definitely. How you get yours to stay that long is amazing.

In order to grow long nails you must avoid breaks. To do this nails must avoid coming in contact with objects. Results are clean nails.

I have long nails and I have my old toothbrush that I use to scrub beneath my nails and I don't Wash my nails for long periods of time. I just wet my hands, lather real quick and rinse thanks for the video I could listen all day.

Do you think you could show us how someone can shape their own nails in an almond or coffin shape? I try to shape my own nails in the almond shape and when Im folding my fingers towards me they look straight but when I straighten them out they look slightly crooked, and sometimes 1 side of a nail isn’t straight like the other 🤦🏼♀️

Another example is hair. The longer the hair is the maintenance will be more constant to take care.
Not alway grow. Short hair can be very maintenance oriented as well. Plus not versatile st all.
Not at all! I keep my hair long because it's basically maintenance free, aside from periodic washing/conditioning.
I find short nails seem to get dirty quickly - perhaps I don’t give them enough attention. When they are long they are always clean!

I quite agree with you Raquel, some people have clean fingernails, and some dirty..short of long does not matter. I have known a lady in her 50'ies and her long fingernails were lovely on top and really dirty underneath ( I noticed this when we were a group of ladies having lunch every week) I also have long nails (usually I do, I just cut them short yesterday as I needed a break from them)..anyway, I always clean the underneath, because it annoys me if there's any dust or dirt there. I like the idea of having a little nailbrush with me when i go out...so I'll get one today if they have one at the local convenience store. Thank's for all your videos, I especially watch the nailcare ones, over and over again..just to get inspiration and remind myself what I should do and why!!

I agree dirt gets in short nails. When they get long the dirt has no where to stick to. But, long fake nails do get dirty between the natural nail and the acrylic. My nails are the length of your daughters.
oh sorry i could just keep typing . my inspiration was from my 6th grade teacher whom i found out later was my first husbands aunt . she would go through files and i thought how cool and that's how I started growing mine .

How many inches are your nails. And are you keeping them at a set length?
So I work in the medical field. What kind of job can someone have with nails your length??? Long and short nails get dirty, I would think that the longer the nail, the more dirt it traps. That is one of the biggest reasons the medical field requires that we have short nails, due to dirt and bacteria that can’t be seen by the naked eye. My nails grow fast so I have to settle for nail art on short nails. You might wanna try hydrogen peroxide at the end of the day, just cause you don’t see the bacteria, doesn’t mean it’s not there.

When my nails were naturally long ,almost as long as yours.
I used bleach and dish soap in water on my nails in.
I know everyone is saying oh my goodness no.
But let me say this I alway's took care of my nails.Bleach helped keep my nails white not discolored .
After I wash them with a nice hand soap .
Doing this never hurt my nails.
So the question I have would you use bleach on your nails?
Lol I've done that in the past when I was younger. Use paroxide gel instead. Bleach is bad for your skin I'm sure you already know this lol. It also kills a lot of your skin flora which is there to protect you from the bad bacteria and keep your skin at the proper pH. Most people don't know this but it's the good bacteria that keeps your pH balanced and where it's supposed to be.

I love your smile. My main thing that I look at for the first time are eyes, then teeth. I love clean, white, fairly straight teeth. They don't have to be perfect from braces, but you can tell if a person cares about they teeth. And, I have to have the heels of my feet looking good. I can not stand to see a woman all dressed up during the summer and look down at her heels, and they are stained from walking around barefooted, and the heels are crusty. That is the number two, or three, thing that I do when it comes to women. The feet have to be looking good. They don't have to perfect. The toes can be even uneven, be I like to see that they have also taking the time to care for their skin on their feet. And of course the toes have to be painted. But, I also wanted to say that bacteria grows everywhere, its in the air. We have to keep ourselves clean, it does depend on the person. Enjoyed the video. Bye!
