One thing that has helped me alot, specially at the begining, is adding a clear coat of polish everyday until I do my next manicure. If you start your nail growth journey with thin or peeling nails you can do this to add protection to your natural nail

I'll try to stop writing so much, but every time I watch, I'll catch something I haven't tried. I've used superglue and a hardener with a clear coat to patch a crack, and it doesn't hold that long. Your acrylic powder method is genius.

I had my own nail routine and my nails were happy but they now more fabulous after I picked up your routine. But what has become one of the best things is that my nail polish no longer chips. Omg I can go two weeks without changing my color and I'm just so in love with that. I went from changing my nail color every 3 to 4 days because the chipping would get out of hand but those days are over. Thank you.
Thanks for this reminder. I had to restart my journey, because I had neglected the "repeat top coat, as needed" step. Ah well, simple fix and restart.
What I love doing is before I wash dishes, I slather my hands nail with olive oil, then put vinyl gloves on and then put my dishwashing gloves on. Now I'm doing an oil soak for my hands and nails and cleaning at the same time. Yes my nails do bend when I wash dishes but I have yet to brake a nail or even damage it when I wash dishes. People just assume that if you have long nails you must not do anything, which is just not true and annoying when people think that.
Started with you 2 yrs ago but I haven't followed your tips in a while so of course my nails look horrible. Just started back a couple days ago. So glad you're doing better and so glad to have you back.

I have been growing my nails naturally for a year and half after 30 years of acrylic. What is your weekly manicure routine? Do you still do the one you started with a few years ago. My length is still very short.
You should try putting cut garlic in your base coat and/or nail straightener. Just use one clove. Leave the garlic in for 24 hours.
Her weekly maintenance is still same. Clean nails of any polish. Soak in some oil, vinegar and baking soda. File if needed. Then base coat free edge and on the back of the nails as well, color polish and last is top coat. Then just apply top coat ever day for the next 3days, then 5th day.

Shit the shape of the nature mail is not very straight
I agree with keeping up with the cuticle oil. I would add soaking your nails hands/feet in warm water mixed with Apple cider vinegar and a teaspoon of baking soda. It will give you a wonderful detox and reduce staining if you do it once a week.

You're the 1st RUclips person I ever watched! I love coconut oil and vitamin E capsules. I'm so glad this video popped up on my feed! I used to use nutranail nail strengthened. The other day, as I washed dishes, and remembered how you always said wear your gloves and use tools. My late hubby and I were married in August of 2009! Your tips helped me stop being a nail bighter and master doing my own nails. I always tell people to file their nails and apply top coat every two or 3 days. I still love Sally Hansen Insta dry in the red bottle and it is cheapest at Target and they do a price match at Walgreens.

Hey beautiful, your nails are looking beautifully healthy and long as always. Using oil on my lengths everyday several times a day especially after washing my hands has made THE biggest difference in reducing breakage and flexibility. My nails have always been strong and grow well but 3coats of Nail-Aid or Sally Hansen along with my prostrong fluoride pen is my regimen I swear by😁. Our nails are the same length except mine are more oval at the ends🤗. Appreciate you and God Bless 😍 gloves, gloves, gloves for sure🖒
Which type of gloves to use for dishwashing ?
@@blessed9491 I buy several of the large yellow gloves from the dollar tree or Walmart although I wear a medium but the extra room and length is ideal for preventing slits and tears when washing dishes or performing other household chores. I usually oil underneath and the tops of my nails/cuticles as a spa treatment before I glove up. Hope this helps 😊.

Hi! I have recently decided to let my nails grow long. And I have applied the top coat daily to protect my manicure and definately this makes my nail color last all week long. I have followed you for a couple of years and I finally decided to give it a try. This really works. I love it! Now I was wondering which top coats do you recommend from your experience? I like the one I am using, because its dries fast and gives shine, but I would like to see if I find a better one that protects the tip of my nail.

My nails grow long but when they get ti a certain lenght they start to break mid lenght on the sides What can I do to stop the breaking?
Lots and lots of oil. I suggest capping the tips, sides and backs of your nails with top coat. Good luck!!
Shape your nails in a way that takes off the sides? Some people's nails grow better in almond or some equally rounded shape that's not square

Beautiful as always nails. A good routine is always good but not everyone will get the same results as ultimately depends on the individuals nail matrix so anyone trying to grow your nails do the best you can do dont necessarily compare as some of us do just naturally have stronger nails than others. I’ve been following your process for a year now. My challenge is putting on the oil 4x a day; I’m a designer and I don’t want to get oil on my artwork or keyboard. I’m using a nail treatment from Julep and my nails are longer and stronger!

One question: starting out on the nail growth journey is it more important to get shape or length?
I’m impatient and lost weeks by trying to get an even shape, but they are short again and I got a split at the side…so, here we go again 😣

I think shape is more important than the length when you’re starting out. If you establish the shape of the nail, and you stick to a nail routine, the desired length will come. When your nail splits, I use silk wraps or nail patches and let them grow out.

Love this nail care video, hon! #nailgoals 😍💅 I've had a lot of success with Nailtiques 2 as my basecoat, but since the pandemic they are peeling like crazy!😧 I've used glue and acrylic over the thin free edge where the damage is and hoping this will help stop the damage going further. I loved your old video showing nail growth from zero, I may need to watch it for inspiration while mine are losing their length! Take care xx

I love your tips and need to try them. My nails are slow growing but always split on the sides. I type on my computer every day so maybe that's why they split on the sides and chip on the tips once they reach about 1/4 inch. TFS!

I have a question about hyponychiums. When my nails grow out so does my hyponychium, which is fine Because it elongates my nail bed. The problem is when I do something and accidentally poke it or accidentally detach it from the nail plate. It hurts to much. Growing your nails so long do you push them back, if so how often? I’ve tried pushing them in the shower, but I can only push a little at a time. Is it necessary to push back? Does it do any harm if I’m too lazy to push them back besides what I described above?

That color is soooo bomb on you!
I use Vitamin E cuticle oil by Sally Hansen when I do my manicures and pedicures and usually once or twice a week between manicures and pedicures. And I use a cuticle cream like twice a day after I wash my hands.
Nail polish always chips by the 2nd day for me. You could also use a thin coat of clear gel to protect your nails too.
What do you think of two in one base coat/top coats? Like LA Colors. My town is limited in what I can buy for nails.
I use gel polishes is it ok? Or do i give my nails a brake. Thank u for the tips
Gels can damage the nail, give them a break and just use normal polish and make sure to moisturize
I have brittle nails because for years I had my nails done with acrylic, how do I make my nails stronger where they dont break so easily?
I soak my bare nails in olive oil for 30 minutes once a week. Rinse most of the oil off in water and pat dry with a kleenex. Then continue to rub the remaining oil into the nail bed, under the nail, and the cuticle area. Let the rest of the oil stay on your nails and continue to rub into your nails. When majority of the oil has soaked into your nails, then, apply Nailtiques Formula 2 or Formula 3.
Then, follow the routine found at this link but skip Step 1, 6 & 7. You did Step 1 above with Nailtiques. Don't get Nail Tek confused with Nailtiques...two different products. You do not need Step 6 & 7 because Seche Vite is thick and provides enough coverage.

I have done this routine for a few years and it does wonders.
Please note, Nailtiques does contain Tosylamide/Formaldehyde Resin. My nails are not brittle from the Formaldehyde Resin because the olive oil keeps them moisturized.

If you have brittle nails you just need to oil them often so they can bend and not brake. Just use oil 3 times a day how she said. Hope this helps 🙂

Do you have a video to keep them strong I’ve always had long nails I do always moisturize my hand. I don’t do stuff with my nails. But occasionally like this week I’ve been bumping into things and they have been breaking on the sides 😒 I recently last week filed them so they could look better; the tips where looking a bit weird. Now, I am wondering either someone did “mal de ojo” (evil eye) or they got a bit weak bc I filed them. I’ve heard cutting them would make them weak.
