For casual and dedicated fans of PRS guitars, the Modern Eagle series has been revered for its unbridled commitment to premium craftsmanship, serving as a flagship model for the uncompromising ethos of Paul Reed Smith’s work. Now that it’s reached its fifth iteration - the Modern Eagle V - and become a bona fide member of their Core series of instruments, we found ourselves wondering about what really defines the Modern Eagle, how this entry differs from its predecessors, and what it means to the company’s history. As it turns out, the history of the Modern Eagle is far more nuanced than you might think, playing an integral role in shaping the identity and output of the entire PRS brand. Don Carr gets into the details with Paul Reed Smith himself to unravel the untold story behind the Modern Eagle: everything you never knew and why it will always matter. Check it out!

An absolute masterpiece.
My Modern Eagle V is by far my favorite guitar I have ever played. I never thought any guitar would knock my custom Strat out of my #1 spot, but the Modern Eagle V did it.
Great video, but would love to see a longer version of it where you went through the employee's guitars. It seemed to just stop when I was just getting into it.
I bought are Core PRS several months ago. I'm ruined. The more I play it the more I like it. Best guitars made.
Awesome!!!❤❤💯💯
I wish I had a Modern Eagle V. I'll never be able to afford one. But oh how I wish! 😢❤
😎👍💓🇺🇸🎸 LONG LIVE PRS!!!
RELIC FREE SINCE 1985!
How nice I wish I could get one of those Eagles I have never even held one yet. SAWEET
I just purchased a PRS modern eagle V from the first note and chord I could tell it was an absolutely exceptional guitar. The action was perfect. I know quality guitars and this guitar has exceeded all my expectations.
How many Modern Eagle 1 were produced? Particularly, singlecut? I can’t seem to find this information. Any help would be appreciated.
If Jerry Garcia was still alive, he'd have one!!
Paul and Larry David should do a bit together!
I really want one, but cannot justify spending $4k - $5k that has such a design flaw for upper fret access. Surh, Mayones, ESP (Jpn), Vola, ect have all updated their designs to fix this issue. With all the R&D that PRS does, they need to fix their design.
PRS is the Tesla of guitar.
Some people can’t wrap their head around the new kid on the block being the best out there.
PRS has an amazing pedigree and deserves every success.
Now, I just need to save for an modern eagle…
@@creamwobbly ?
I'm a PRS fan but your comparison to Tesla is true in another way. Tesla cars are bland looking. Some will never get on with that design. Some say the same about PRS, although I like it.
@@eugenehavens which PRS design? There are many
@@eugenehavenshuh? Never heard anyone say PRS look bland. Id recommend people saying that get their eyes checked
@@StupidGuitarI can’t post links here but it’s said all the time. I have a 245 Soapbar and it’s a nice looking guitar. But I can see the argument that PRS has a bland design. Just like I can see flaws in Fender and Gibson and own both.
Can't understand why someone with 5k would choose to buy a reliced Strat over one of these
We get a Maryland vs Indiana 'fashion show.'.... Those shoes do not _match_ that shirt. Like, at all. And No, neither shirt is worth that much screen time.
When do we get an SE Modern Eagle? I'm guessing never. That's okay. I like my SE 594. It plays incredibly well. I'm changing the pickups, but the rest of it is probably the guitar bargain of the decade.
First time I have ever seen Paul without a dark striped shirt. Was just remarking upon it when he busted in his own shirt! Do I have a guitar comment? No
I still don't understand what a modern eagle is after this lol. It's a custom 24/22 that's more expensive and fancy?
It’s explained within the first 3 minutes lol.
Used to be Braz Rosewood neck on a custom 24
