You all probably dont care but does anybody know a way to get back into an Instagram account?? I was dumb lost the password. I would love any tricks you can offer me!
@Zachariah Marcellus Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site on google and Im in the hacking process now. Takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.
The thought of this is pretty revolutionary for me. I have to use a walker due to a core muscle disease....but this would give me so much more independence and allow less wear and tear of me, at the ramp! Now I will just have to research a good way to load the boat using this + some other mechanism...and I will be SET to travel to different lakes!!
2cool video... Just finished installed on 2019 Ulterra.. Never thought about a solo landing. by the way this is my second Minn Kota. Bought first in 2008 and worked fine until I sold the boat a couple weeks ago. thanks for the great video.
I call this feature "Bachelor Launch." Way cheaper than a wife, and you don't have to listen to her gripe the whole time you're trying to catch fish either.
FISH ON Or to tell you what you're doing wrong, where you should've parked, don't forget to lock it because my purse is in there, where's my phone?, can you untangle this, how much longer are we going to be out here, I have to pee...
Rollin Nolen I got a Ram Mount for my trolling motor to keep it from bouncing around in 1 ft waves. The motor has a very long shaft, so that doesn’t help. It works wonderfully.
Me too!!!! I have to use a walker....and this unload is quite the body safer. Loading would also be an incredible feat! My thought is that if you work with it enough, you can probably make the 'shore landing' into a trailer landing.
This is amazing. Assuming it works 100% of the time. Not sure this convenience offsets the risk of losing your boat if the system fails. Love the vid tho you captured this perfectly.
+No-Fish Nick's Adventures are you planning on going out on the Bago this winter? wanna try to get out there eventually. Unfortunately, the closest big lake to me is Castle Rock, which always jammed with people.
I saw one live in person today. That’s why I looked this up it was. Awesome to see live. And when the got ready on the dock the boat ran over to the dock and picked him up. It was crazy stuff my wife said night rider type stuff
I don't even own a boat, but the technology is interesting. Has anyone gotten it to where it also tries to keep the back of the boat in position? I saw some stuff about auto trolling using contours on the map, or even manual routes, and a full position hold would be amazing for when you get fish and want to pause.
The new Dakota Boat Retriever makes this process stupid easy as well. No more wet feet, cracked shins climbing, or busted keisters on slick ramps. Plus, lots less $$!
Good idea, but Minn Kota already made a commercial basically doing this same thing. Guy launches his boat at a dock, drops trolling motor via remote, goes and parks, then drives his boat back to the dock with the remote.
It is like a really expensive rope! Does this thing have to be linked with a Humminbird Helix 9 or better? How does it handle getting slopped up with weeds? I'm interested when I'm out with my little kids.
I have a MinnKota & I never know if it's going to work, so I wouldn't try that . I even have a set up to install my old cable motor that comes in handy when the new is in for repairs under the warranty.
SO....this I don't get. Minnkota says the remote range for their controller is 30 feet ....30 FEET !! So when you drive away from the boat to park your tow vehicle, do you lose control of the boat ? Do you need to leave the control on a pier ? And what if your boat is more than 30 feet away ? This is concerning. Just ordered this motor on my new Lund boat.
I've never had it loose signal but if I'm parking along way away I leave the remote at the dock or shoreline. Enjoy your new Lund. Mine has given me many years of awesome fishing adventures (bought it in 2005).
that's great and all until the remote comes unlinked from the motor or the GPS malfunctions and it steers out of range of the remote. it's a great idea and I've been considering it with mine. I've ordered one of those haswing ones off eBay. they good overall reviews but have a problem with the remote coming unlinked. well see how it does but even with the expensive ulterra I don't know if I'd trust it. maybe run a rope to it just in case something did happen.
Great vid, Thinking about upgrading my Hook on the bow to something like a 7” Lowrance to see better on the rivers and Bay but I am told that the glare makes even the 7” Hard to read depth and fish. What do you think about the glare/visibility issue?
Do you know how far away you can be from the boat before the remote loses connection? And will the remote automatically reconnect? For example fishing a tournament if you spot locked your boat 100ft from shore and weighed in could you get the boat back after weigh in?
It connects pretty far. Parking lots should be no problem. I think there is a misunderstanding, the GPS is handled in the ulterra. It can function without the remote. I prefer to control it with the fish finder, and rarely turn on the remote. . If you turn the remote on at any time it connects for use. No difference if you are in or out of the boat.
Thats sweet until you see the price tag. They fetch up to between 1200 to 2grand just for the electric motor not including if you want to add the fish finder add another grand😊
Have you ever tried to board a boat from the water, it’s not easy especially if you are alone and tired from a frantic swim. Definitely easier for a young person to hoist their self up over the side.
Hello, I just purchased an Ulterra and on my first fishing trip it would not deploy. It had a red light on as well as the green power light. After my install I tested and calibrated the motor without any issues.Minn Kota now says that the Red Light is "normally" on and you have to hit the deploy button twice to make it deploy, in your video I did not see a red light on with yours? Any input would be very welcomed. Thank you
If using the foot pedal I need the yellow light on and hit it twice. Only once with the hand held controller. Mine is a first generation so yours could be different. Good luck
Yes. I love the Ulterra. Did have to straighten out the frame and replace some parts after I got into a big accident (see NFN crash and burn video) but this same unit is still going strong. I still launch this way when conditions are right.
I never own a boat before , and now I look buy one , but I must this remotely trolling! I need some advice, pleases help me , what should I be looking to have the already installed remote trolling! Thanks in advance for helping!
If your buying from a dealer just request to have a Minn Kota Ulterra installed. Mine is a 24 volt unit with a 60" shaft. Some boats will be set up with a 36 volt (3 batterys) for the electric motor. That is fine because Minn Kota sells them for both voltages. Good luck
I need a trolling motor with bragging right features when I'm in the boat..... This example is nice but it's not a selling point in any way for me. I would not launch this way when I'm solo. I currently have Power Drive Auto Pilot, 80 Lbs of thrust for my Sylvan Sport Troller. I am replacing the foot control but I will upgrade within the next couple of years. I forget the feature name but it stops the boat from swaying.....now that's nice. I have just started to do my research and there's one thing for sure I know......my new trolling motor will be a Minn Kota. Tight lines
Judging from the comments I’d say the company that makes this needs to figure out a way to keep the remote linked when someone drives off to park their car & trailer. Seems like an obvious problem they should have considered at square one. If you are going to leave the remote unattended on the shore or have someone watch it for you, that same person might as well just hop in the boat during launch and paddle it over to the dock. Boaters are friendly people and its not too hard to find help at the boat ramp
The remote will reconnect. Often when fishing I spot lock and turn off the remote (can always use the fish finder or petal to control it) . When turned on it reconnects just fine. Not to mention it should easily reach the parking lot.
Cool idea, but they still have not worked out all the bugs. My buddy is on his fourth one. He calls Minn Kota and they send him a refurbished to replace the one. defective It's the old Genisis concept.
So those two dudes don't need it because they have each other to sit in the boat and truck. And let's see that guy get his truck to come get him off the water later and have his boat put itself back on the trailer!
Thanks for the cool video Nick. Have you had any problems with your Ulterra? I heard in 2015 Minn Kota had a recall on the Ulterra. I am considering one. Anything you don't like about it?
+blues2boogie So far no issues at all. It still has a lot of features I have not tried yet such as following map contours and saving trails. Once I start learning and using more of these features I'll share to my RUclips channel.
Two years later this motor is going strong ruclips.net/user/postUgkxBZWgzfpS2Jj7JqIHyaSZjyVHNUgCKCBf Just uploaded a video of it after 2 years. We use it probably a dozen days each year on our small raft.-original review- We got this motor the other day and tested it out. I don't have anything to compare it to, but it seems good to me. It has all the features advertised - the motor housing is metal. We will see how it performs longer term and I will revise this review if needed. Some initial observations:- Good thrust, moves our boat around really well- It comes with a circuit breaker but no switch - so there's no way to kill the motor other than yanking the connection off the battery. I installed an inline switch.- The mount bracket is plastic and I worry it might break- There are a number of plastic parts that I worry about, but the most important ones are metal or some kind of composite
I did have an issue with the auto pilot messing up and going off coarse. I called minn kota service and they did help me out and provided me with a new controller top. All has been good since than (two years ago).
VERY COOL VIDEO AYE.. LOVE THE ACCENT AND YOU JUST SOLD ME. MAYBE I CAN GET MINN KOTA TO SEND YOU A HAT AS COMMISION OR SOMTHING.
THE AMERICAN WOLF thanks i would like a hat or t-shirt. please let them know. lol

@Zachariah Marcellus It did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. I am so happy!
Thanks so much, you saved my ass :D

That's amazing, wow, if I ever get a boat and can afford one of those, it'll be on my boat for sure
Very nice! Having one installed on my robalo r222 - 72”

Yeah...but you are still gonna get "soaked" either way, if something goes wrong !!
@@jeremytolbert9633 hahahaha classic!!!!!! im just happy my wife can back us in and pull us out, def makes some guys jealous with that feature.
My wife loves to fish as much as I do
the ram mount to hold the motor down from bouncing during travel is a great idea.
Rollin Nolen I got a Ram Mount for my trolling motor to keep it from bouncing around in 1 ft waves. The motor has a very long shaft, so that doesn’t help. It works wonderfully.
That was very cool, a little on edge at first launch, thanks for sharing.
Great demonstration. I'd like to see a video on you bringing the boat back to load it on a trailor to take the boat out of the water.
Me too!!!! I have to use a walker....and this unload is quite the body safer. Loading would also be an incredible feat! My thought is that if you work with it enough, you can probably make the 'shore landing' into a trailer landing.

Eh all you’re ever really risking are some wet clothes.
I don't have that much faith in technology but hey it sure looks cool, thanx.
Wow. Now THAT is slick!
Great little motor I put on my 14’ flat bottom John boat. Strong and quiet. I would recommend it to anyone.
Hey Nick, nice to hear from you again! Hope you have some nice fall fishing!
+Evan Johnson thanks man. I love fall fishing, ice fishing, spring fishing, and summer fishing... lol

Mine failed when I got to far away with remote, while parking, suggestion leave remote on shore near water, better if on a tree branch elevated!
Nice...I have been looking at a new aultrra trolling motor..and a helix 12..that sinc together ..
Awesome video and well done! I would be emailing this to Minn Kota's marketing department for some serious hookup! Seriously
Good idea, but Minn Kota already made a commercial basically doing this same thing.

Vary nice, and nice boat!🤙🏿🤙🏿🤙🏿

My buddies saltwater version is only about 9 months old. It failed yesterday. Luckily it was stowed when it would not deploy.
i love mine i just got it today and calibrated it i still have to learn it but i love it
Cool, thanks for your time Buddy.

I have the same fears but I will give it a go, I have a motor with Ipilot on it and I have never had an issue.
Can you tell me the travel mount you bought to keep the head from bouncing? Thanks, and great video!!
It's a Ram ball mount. I did have to make a shim out of black poly dowel to get it the right height. Works well.
Great vid, Thinking about upgrading my Hook on the bow to something like a 7” Lowrance to see better on the rivers and Bay but I am told that the glare makes even the 7” Hard to read depth and fish. What do you think about the glare/visibility issue?
I'm all over this, is there a fee monthly fee for GPS usage?
No fee at all. Just turn it on and in a minute or two you have GPS locked on.
Very slick.
Oops forgot to hook up the battery! :)

make sure prop speed is on 1 incase you do need to go after it its going slow enough you may actually catch it.
Thats sweet until you see the price tag. They fetch up to between 1200 to 2grand just for the electric motor not including if you want to add the fish finder add another grand😊
Just a suggestion to have a Talon or maybe a power pole micro in case your batteries on the trolling motor fail on you.
Have you ever tried to board a boat from the water, it’s not easy especially if you are alone and tired from a frantic swim. Definitely easier for a young person to hoist their self up over the side.
Yes, I have gone swimming off of my boat many times and climb up the back transom using the top of the big motor lower unit as the foot step.
Is this the northern Chippewa Flowage Launch? Looks identical
This is at Stevens Point Wisconsin.
I know that spot! Watch out for the rocks! :D
yes very rocky section of river. Back in the Nineties I fished it several times a week and learned where most of the bad spots are located.

Hey brother I got messages on my ipiolt remote said pause I couldn’t find the problem can u help
What happens when the remote fails?
Swim or call a friend. Never had a problem yet.
Judging from the comments I’d say the company that makes this needs to figure out a way to keep the remote linked when someone drives off to park their car & trailer. Seems like an obvious problem they should have considered at square one.

You could have shown us the buttons you were pushing.
Deploy to drop it. Down arrow to lower it deeper into the water. Stow to bring it back up.
Great video. What length shaft did you buy?
TROTH1966 this is 60" shaft length. Needed for fishing in rough conditions.
Cool video! Where did you get that ram mount for the trolling motor?
I believe I purchased that Mills Fleet Farm. I also needed a piece of round black HDP plastic to use as a spacer to get the right height.
All fun and games until you realize you forgot to hook up the battery until it's out there
Thanks!
Do you know Bill Brasky???
Bow unit need to be on for this to work?
No Just the Minn Kota it has its own internal GPS system
Is this a 60" or 72" shaft Ulterra?
Shaun Hermes 60"
So remote don’t loss connection to motor when you drive away
If you park far away leave the remote near the landing.
What fish finder are you using ?
The one shown is a Humminbird 597 hd (it's old but works good).
I got a 1890 pro v. What model is yours?
1900 Pro V
Just be aware that sometimes they don't go down and need repair. Happens often.
Respect brother
TOO COOL!!!
What troll stabilizer you using for your ulterra?
I'm using a Ram mount as seen here ruclips.net/video/eZGdyvZ8s04/видео.html
what is the range of the remote?
Not sure. If I park more than a few hundred yards away I leave the remote near the boat.
So those two dudes don't need it because they have each other to sit in the boat and truck. And let's see that guy get his truck to come get him off the water later and have his boat put itself back on the trailer!
