One thing that Honda is doing really well lately is simple controls that are easy to use and easy to learn. Some companies are going too complex with even basic climate control adjustments being handled through screens or haptic systems but Honda gets it.

Yup. That's why we're veering from toyota for the first time in thirty years.. Couldn't go with the highlander. End bating on a small s u v instead of the camera... But the rap forest just feels cramped ,small inside so much. But can't get over the turbo in the c r v. Not sure about the hybrid. And deftly don't like the hump in the back or no spare tire.

in 2022, Toyota RAV4 was beating CRV 2:1 in sales. Honda was shocked, and has fought back with a lot of improvements, most importantly in availability, and now i think the CRV is the prettier product. Sure do have boring colors though; more than half of the colors are somewhere between white and black. Honda makes a great car, and this is their #1 vehicle. Toyota and Honda's rivalry keeps them honest. My nephew in Texas will not buy a car that doesn't have ventilated seats. So that is something they should look into. Sure hate the lack of a spare tire. I have had over 10 flat tires in my life so far. The CRV and RAV4 are so practical and cover such a huge swath of potential uses, i don't see the public ever returning to Sedans. These offer so much more interior volume.

Well the sales numbers for the Accord are as follows:
      Year sold
      2005 376,293
      2006 354,441
      2007 382,231
      2008 368,161
      2009 290,056

      2013 366,678
      2014 388,435
      2015 355,557
      2016 345,135
      2017 322,655
      2018 291,071
      2019 267,567
      2020 199,458
      2021 202,676
      2022 154,612
you can see that it has dropped off dramatically. 2022 was an aberration, as the factories were shut down due to lack of parts. 2023 will be probably 250k, as the Accord Hybrid has staggeringly good MPG, and is a wonderful product. But the CRV will continue to be Honda's #1 product. @@charlesjackson1700

I live in Las Vegas and it got hot very fast. I run the A/C constantly now and currently get 41.3 mpg. With gas prices being over $5.00 per gallon I’m over the moon with the mileage I’m getting. This car is so big inside and very comfortable. I’m still learning all the great features and am happy I went with Honda rather than Toyota. One other thing, when you start it up it is totally quiet. My boss has the Toyota and hers is so loud compared to mine. Very happy with my new vehicle.

Got the ‘23 sport. Fake exhaust didn’t bother me. I will agree that the rear seat controls setup is an inconvenience, considering the previous generation had a lever at the trunk. Some of the cosmetic zonk, if bothersome, are fixable with after-market parts, so it’s no big deal. I am however, most impressed with the car’s driving dynamics. For me, it always seems strangely familiar to drive even though it is the 1st time at the wheel. My biggest zonk with the car is the road noise when the car is on a rougher highway road. Most intrigued with the engine/transmission setup. If you make another CR-V, please elaborate more on the engine/transmission setup. From the reviews, it appears some are confused with this configuration vs the traditional CVT. Your fans deserves to know this😊

There is no CVT in the hybrid version of the CR-V. Technically, Honda’s two-motor hybrid system doesn’t have a transmission at all, or even a power-split device like Toyotas. Rather than use a torque converter or mechanical pulley or belt, Honda's two-motor hybrid system relies on the interplay of the two motors for driving and generating power. The new fourth-generation of the Honda 2023-24 hybrid system enables an additional low-speed lockup clutch. This allows direct engine drive under a wider range of vehicle speeds. When cruising at mid- or high-speeds in the high-efficiency range of the engine, a lock-up clutch engages the drive motor to the generator motor, transmitting engine torque directly to the drive wheels as efficiently as possible. Three different operating modes are used by Honda's two-motor system, which seamlessly switches between the three depending on throttle position, state of battery charge, and other factors: EV Drive Mode, Hybrid Drive Mode, and Engine Drive Mode. The gear shifts and associated sound are simulated. I own the 2023 Sport Touring and can attest to a very smooth driving experience. I've had a power-split planetary gear based hybrid for the past 10 years. Honda's approach provides a much better driving experience in my opinion.

Hey Joe. Long time subscriber here. I’ve always enjoyed your style of marrying detailed, accurate descriptions of your vehicles as well as the subjective, irreverent, and entertaining (usually) observations. A bit of a let down here though, with incorrect statements on the drivetrain - there are 2 electric motors, not 1. There isn’t ANY cvt - just a fixed low gear and a fixed high gear, with the electric motors supplanting any need for a transmission. Those shifting paddles that you referred to are actually for modulating regen braking. Not sure why you didn’t want to make a better effort on presenting more accurate descriptions. Still love ya though:)

It's insane how many features the CRV is missing & it feels incredibly cheap inside with all the plastic.
I tested Toyota, Subaru, Honda, Kia, Hyundai, & the CRV was by far the most underwhelming SUV in this class.

I was fortunate enough to have two Uber rides, there and back from the dealer while car was in service; a brand new Tuscon and the new CRV. The CRV definitely has a better interior than the Tuscon, but I still think the Toyota has the edge mainly due to it’s tech and bigger screens. The feel and quality of the CRV was amazing, but wasn’t persuasive enough to make me think the CRV is better than the RAV4.
Oh and I still think it looks ugly, front and rear 😂😂. But I can see why you can make a case for the CRV.

@@darkivaz-aaa1145 to each of their own on the RAV4 vs CRV interior: I think the Honda has a better interior mainly due to 2 things. The amount of gloss black inside the Tuscon, which was overly done in my opinion, and the touch sensitive buttons, which to make it worse, are covered in gloss black. Way too much glare even as a passenger. Otherwise, I think the Tuscon looks a tad bit better than the CRV.

Walked to the dealership to check out this exact car today. (currently driving the 2018 grand cherokee) Loved the idea of getting 40 MPG, loved the exterior. I mean that exterior is absolutely stunning. Same interior as this one. ... Once you get into the drivers seat this infotainment system hits you hard. Its ultra basic, low contrast and just sucks in general. Ive tried convincing myself that maybe i could live with it somehow..... Walked out of the dealership because i just couldnt do it. Once you live with a beautiful high contrast infotainment system (like my uconnect 4c stellantis)- looking at this absolutely hurts your eyes and will make you suffer day after day. The seats are way too hard for longer rides and would make it difficult to enjoy long range trips. If it had those two things done right i would have bought it today, even for a fee. Ill keep looking around and maybe i can get this car with those things improved , but once we start going past 40 k I might as well get something else. The inside is simply dull and makes you not want to be there.

The Honda CRV hybrid is the best buy you can get from Honda. When I purchased my 2023 Honda CRV everything else on the lot pilot and passport were way overpriced. All I ask before the next generation if they would make this SUV, an inch taller (ceiling), an inch wider (interior), and an inch longer for interior backseat. i'm not Crampton Side, but I think a little bit bigger than every aspect will make this SUVwin all the way around. Oh yeah a bit more HP 220hp. Nice review 👍

I have not driven a CR-V or Rav 4, but have been backseat passengers in both several times recently during Uber trips on the same roads. My wife and I eliminated the Rav 4 from consideration for our next vehicle due to those experiences. Rav 4 had an uncomfortable, loud, ride in the back seat, and felt "cheap" compared to the Honda. We have owned both brands in the past, but for us, it was clear between those two models.
