Thx for this video I have the exact problem with my gl450 2007 and was told by mr Mercedes dealership the entire manifold has to be replaced at cost 10k. I knew it was a scam did my homework on gl 450 manifold and realized what the real underlying problem is. Their diagnosis is a crack tumble flap and recommended replacing entire manifold.
its funny how they say the plastic breaks due to carbon build up on the swirl flaps yet say nothing about removing the buildup and only offering an aluminum replacement. So, lets force our way through the carbon, or just see if we can break the next point of least resistance..
I just did the job on m273 engine, not saw any carbon build up, so I think it a design fault, the plastic will degenerated sooner or later due to the heat and vibration.
Hello guys. A little help please(P2006 - no check engine light, though ) It doesn't look like anything is damaged with me, but after pressing one of the levers as you do in the clip, it stays in the same position and does not return., at the same time it moves hard. What do you think the problem might be?
Most likely the broken pivot point shown here, also with such a rough idle you may have internal flap damage, I have had the steel rivets from the internal flaps wear a hole through the aluminum, you may want to remove and inspect the intake manifold and proceed from there, although I would upgrade to the aluminum parts shown here even if you need a new intake.

Sheikh Latif the only way to fix that issue is to replace the manifold... They don't sell replacement arms unlike here
@@nextwaze5661 I got mine for 10€ on amazon. I the mercedes they wanted to replace the whole manifold for 1400€ plus another 1000€ on labour
This is what triggers code p2006 right? Is this part compatible with 2007 e350? Is it available in the US? Thanks!

Typically there isn't much build up.
I usually spray and force air thru the level points
@@skillz1855 Exactly, it's not a direct injection vehicle.
Is it possible to do this flap replacement without taking out the complete manifold from the engin
Was it?
It is not.
Will order ur tumble flap and u mention comes with actuator rods. makes sense to replace plastic flap with metal version
Unfortunately the plastic arms over the tumble flaps break as well and it doesn't seem anyone make those linkage parts

now there are metal aftermarket parts available.
Thanks for the great clip ! Do you have the equivalent part for W211 E350 2008 ? Thanks !

Same as mine. middle section broke. most of the issues.

Do you make those for a GL320 CDI, If you do can i please buy them? thank you for your time!
i have c240 model 2002 /the Engine shiver in N and P and i have oil evaporation /1000miles*1 litre oil can u help me to find the problem plZ
Can the repair be done with the manifold s ill in the car?
Hi there, yes it should be able to be done in situ. - Georgina, X8R Ltd
It’s not a torx bolt in the film
it is Allen but Torx works as well :) I had same observation as well !
Too bad the rods are not metal as well
This is the easy part, the hard part is removing the intake manifold out of the engine, such a pain!
Not hard really. Very simple.
Most people just over think
@@BMWI-gk9wh its the harness and wires that make it tougher specially when they are old and brittle. But, yeah its a easy fix from there.
