These are such great tips!! I never even thought of greyscale but it makes sense, just from the animation I already felt less inclined to spend time on my phone so I’m gonna try that, thank you! I’ve been on my phone for a little too long lately & hopefully these tips will help 😊

I got rid of my cell phone last year. Its helped with my focus a bit. I still find ways to log onto Messenger on my desktop - but what I like in this video is how you break down how "the brain is hard-wired to seek reward and avoid pain". What I learned from this viedo: its not the device - it's my consumption of the content/ messages that releases reward/ dopamine (like a message from my parents and sister) versus the stressful email I'm anticipating (stress/pain) from a coworker. Very insightful!

Hey! Thanks for adding subtitles, I really appreciate it!
But if I could ask something more, could you also add those subtitles with the RUclips feature? Since you already have the text files it should give you a very small additional work, but it could make a significant difference, since then we can enable the automatic translation feature from RUclips and get subtitles on our native languages, and also share the video with friends and relatives that don't speak English.
Since your manual subtitles are objectively better than the auto ones generated by RUclips, the quality of the resulting translation will be much better.
Also, if you ever plan on adding manual translations to other languages in the future to reach more audiences, maybe you could reconsider adding the subtitles only by the RUclips feature instead of hardcoded into the video, since those can be enabled or disabled at will and changed between languages without having to be 2 subtitles active at once on the screen.
    Thanks for the great work!

I liked the tip about seeing the brain as a muscle and adding or removing weight.

I knew about removing blue light to reduce the impact on sleep, but I've never heard of going full grayscale to reduce mental distractions. The discovery that color itself is inherently addictive explains a LOT of the awful, anti-user friendly web design I've seen over the last few decades.

I started turning my phone screen to grayscale about a year ago. Now the normal colors are so intense that it almost makes me sick to look at.

    That's really Helpful Thanks.🙏
I usually take a walk in my house while I check notification or taking to someone else on phones.
And after sitting down I do the work I need to get done.
    🤣What about inverting the colour.😉
Then it would be like, being in a dream.😂

I'm having this experience where I know that my phone is a crutch. I know that I need something like a tech free day. But there's a fear about doing that.

Honestly. I was subscribed to Headspace when there only was Meditations, Sleepcasts and Focus music. I never used anything else when the rest came out. I am not subscribed anymore, the choice was a bit too overwhelming to me. :/

My probelm is, is that ill just remove whatever is preventing me from going on my phone or something. Its grey scale? Ill turn it off. Or if theres an app that tells me abt my screen time ill just delete it. Or i cant silence social media bc my family text me on it and whatif they need me? What if its an emergency? Like my anxiety just- no.

lol, but this was a study amongst Americans.... that's not exactly peak cognitive preformance.
and g*dd*mn lady, clean your glasses, it takes an exceptionally keen set of eyes to still be able to look through them.
other than that, good points, you make a good case!
