When you know you're about to spend hundreds of hours playing a game, your tutorial must be seen as an investment.
I did appreciate the way you didnt spoil any anomalies and the clarity of your advices (while giving us many UI tricks).
Definitly the best beginners' series about Stellaris

Just a minor issue - at 1:01:32 the explanation about the multiple new faction is interrupted - it jumps right into the next topic.

I know this is a year old, and a little out of date with new updates, (though I don't think combat has changed much since this) but as someone who just got the game on sale this last week, this video has been the most helpful. I'm in my second game right now, and it's the first time I'm really having to deal with war, my first game was relatively peaceful (except that time I accidentally opened up a gateway, and massive 75k fleet came out and decimated me and everyone else in the galaxy, lol.)
But anyway, this time I got blocked in by 3 militaristic empires, and I was fighting a two on one way war, (thankfully the third guy was directing his attention in the other direction) and they each had armies at my borders on opposite ends, so I decided to go deal with the one I thought was the more pressing threat, thinking I'll let the other guy take a couple systems, then come back and reclaim them. But then suddenly I was at peace with him, and I couldn't for the life of me figure out why. I never agreed to peace. I was so frustrated, because now I had lost those systems, that I thought I would be able to reclaim really quick, but now I have to wait a decade.
Thanks to this video I now know why, they had claimed just those two systems, came in and got them with me nowhere near, and so they "Won" the war, even though My fleet would have destroyed them, if they weren't preoccupied with the other nation. And the worst part is, I didn't even realize until I was done with the other guy. There was no pop up or anything, probably a small notification at the top that I missed among all the others that were popping up because I was at war. But that should definitely come up with a big pop up on screen right in your face, so you know what's happening.
Anyway, thank you, I know now what happened. This games tutorial system is pretty garbage and doesn't explain anything too you lol. These last two episodes were the last piece of the Stellaris puzzle that I was missing. Most of the other stuff I was able to grasp pretty well just by trial and error, and watching what was happening.

This is the best beginners tutorial I've seen for any game, you have an amazing and easy way of making the content engaging, fun, easy to listen to, whilst packing a ton of info. I've recently started playing Stellaris, was a humble bundle, and you have answered so many questions!

I just picked up Stellaris a month or so ago and, like so many others have commented, have found your tutorials absolutely top notch. Really appreciate this series...I've enjoyed watching the videos as much as playing the game :) As there is so much going on in the game, I go back to your series for reference when needed. These are as good as any software training classes I've ever taken and I appreciate how well you mix in the thematics of the game. You should consider doing more and contracting with more developers & publishers. Great stuff, Cheers!

Yeah, this series is a must for anyone getting into this game at this point. I put the game off for a year due to the complexity but I have all the DLC now and just got into it myself after procrastinating. A 6 hour tutorial is a pretty significant time investment but my first run without this was such a mess because the game really doesn't, and maybe it can't, explain all this. The way this tutorial was divided made me realize that while the game can be overwhelming you can treat each major mechanic as a semi-discrete mini-game. They relate back to your economy and research but each can be learned independently so it's not quite as bad as it seems at first. Quite a good game if you're the kind of person who would be willing to learn it though. Unironically felt like a college class.

Hell yeah! I love these tutorials! I've watched them a couple times because there's so much info! Plus there are so many mechanics and systems that could be covered in like Mid and Endgame-type tutorials: Becoming an Overlord/Negotiating Contracts, Managing a Federation, Espionage, Galactic Politics, Becoming the Custodian/Emperor, Fallen Empires, the L Gate. Plus there is completely open territory to cover mods like ACOT and Gigastructures that no RUclipsr has tutorials on. Aside from speculative Reddit forums there is no information or coverage out there of stuff like the Katzenartig Imperium, the EHOF, the Blokkats, and the tech tiers above 5.

When I picked up this game, it looked so complex that it kind of put me off. But I loved the premise of this game so I gave it another shot. I looked up a tutorial and found your videos. Now I feel like a pro playing the game. This tutorial was very informative, you have a good friendly vibe in your videos and you seem very passionate about the game the way you explain things like anomalies for example. Keep up the good work!

The game has so much content that it's hard for a beginner to grasp the game's flow and meta. This tutorial series may be 6 or so hours long but I think it actually saves you time in the long run. The game has a great dynamic narrative system but it's impossible to appreciate it until you form an intuition for the systems.

I played Stellaris 10 years ago on PC... and have just recently reinvested in it on PS5 console edition. Looks like Paradox is currently bringing the console version closer to pc with updates. I wasn't sure how user-friendly console would be.. it's actually not too bad. Loving it so far. Looking forward to First Contact later this year (lots on the console has a release delay). Your videos have helped me catch back up. I forgot so many of the mechanics. Coming back to it with all of the DLCs and updates over 10 years is great, even as far behind as console still is. I'd love to see a Space-X themed Space Force type of DLC that is closer to our current human technology trees irl.

27:48 - the moment he finally notices
ROFL i'm dyin' - noticed it last video the moment it happened.
    Final notes: Couple of gripes.
1: You left a HUGE number of systems in your empire's little closed off cluster unclaimed and unexploited, and several claimed systems were left unexploited. All of which contributed to your production imbalances. Which leads to...
2: Why did you never go over the various automation functions? Like automating your construction ships to just handle building infrastructure when the materials are available to do it in your claimed systems, so you can let that happen while you're busy with other things. Or automating science ships, and the various levels of control you have over that. Could have had a great deal more explored space if you'd just let them go do their thing. I also very much wanted a good explanation of how automation of upgrades for planets and fleets and starports works. Was a part of the mechanics I'd have appreciated having added to the tutorials so it's more apparent how to use those features intelligently.

Thank you thank you thank you for these tutorial videos I have had this game in my steam library for around 2 years and the in game tutorial seems as confusing as the UI to a complete beginner so its just sitting untouched, however your videos I have watched over the past 2 days into how to play the game as given me a new zest to get in and play as you have at every stage pretty much explained how to play the game at a novice level. After watching this the game itself seems like a hugely glorified game of RISK in essence . Now I have the confidence to actually get my feet wet in game which has a huge learning curve and with your advice could probably learn all the other stuff as I go so thank you again for in depth and very good way of explaining on how to play the game that I have always wanted to play but really could never get my head around.

I dip my toes into Stellaris every year or two - and find the game changed and more complex each time, sometimes in ways I'm not even aware of, and as a result, I feel like every game of Stellaris I've played has been worse than the last. I didn’t watch the video actually, i didn’t know if it was mentioned or not but i just wanna help.
After wars the most problematic problem is your economy, you will see -100 energy credits and food.
There are two choices that you can choose.
Firstly is to enslave the conquered pop. I would suggest to do so if they have a similiar habitibility trait, move their rights from indentured servitude to domestic servitude and destroy all advanced resources bulding(research lab, industrial district, administrative offices) to reduce upkeep cost, send some of your pops to be the politician of the newly conquered planet so their happiness can offset the native’s happiness and increase overall stability.
Secondly is to purge and force labour them. I would recommend you to this when the conquered species are far from your habitable preference and you also have terraforming technology to change the planet to your preference once the native population is dead. Send some of your pops to the conquered planet to increase stability and overall purged pop production, evacuate all robot pops from the conquered planets. once the planet only host 4-10 remaining native pop, resettle the politicans somewhere and let the remaining natives die. Once they do, terraform the planet and preapre a colony ship to colonize it.

If you claim & take all planets of an opponent in a successful war, but mot all their star systems they will be no more.... but won't all those valuable systems then require you to build starbases with the required infuence? I've had this happen (in a previous version) and it seems much better to leave them at least 1 (preferably low pop) planet so you can enjoy the influence discount of acquiring their space by future wars- or much more efficiently by oppressive level Vassalage. * remember to set your vassalage policy before going to war or it's going to cost some serious influence before you can integrate them.

I get games where in the first 10 years an AI declares war on me, and arrives with fleet of 250k power... meanwhile I sit there with 5 stars, and several Corvettes >.< There's no recovering from this aside of making a new game and pray it doesn't happen again.. At least they are 10-15 min long games 😑
