I love this! Looks on their faces are classic...lots of wtf moments. They do look a bit of a mess, but what the hell....they are just so funny, but still down to earth. They will never stop and I will never stop loving them.
Well they had just did a concert. That's probably why they were a little disheveled. How much they put into each song. I would probably feel the same. I love them. Out of All the wonderfully talented bands I grew up with 60s, 70s, 80s. All the concerts I saw.

I like how Robert is so honest. Watched an interview a while back and the interviewer commended them on still being able to have a drink when other classic rockers had gone all healthy. Robert replied: "Yeah, and look at us."

I seen Robert Plant at the Joe Louis arena in Detroit for his principle of moments 1983 concert. It was absolutely awesome. Phil Collins is out of drums. His voice was so awesome. Just an awesome concert!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

@@nathanglass512 I dont agree. I think mostly plebs like the first 4 albums only. 15 year old me was one of the plebs but now I'm a little older i hear differently. Led zeppelin invented their own sound starting with misty mountain hop on 4 and then completely with houses of the holy and onward. There is nothing like Achilles last stand nobody has come close to that. Presence isn't my favourite album though. I would say houses of the holy. Song remains the same is such a badass first song on an album ,nobody else would ever do that!!!

I am not trying to feed my ego that's just a stupid ass thing to say. Presence is a freakin grate album. Bonzo's beats on Presence were fuckin phenomenal, also John Paul's bass really stood out as well. Feed my ego c'mon man what the hell ya talking about. If you know anything about the progression of music or a particular sound Presence was an absolutely perfect response to Physical Graffiti. It was almost as profound as ZEPPELIN I was to ZEPPELIN II. Why do people always have to try and make others second guess themselves. If someone tells me their favorite album is ZEPPELIN III I'm certainly not gonna say to myself, this guy is trying to sound like a musical genius and feed his ego. That comment was egotistical, in that your trying to sound like your smarter than others. Anyway, peace everyone be safe.😎✌🤪💨💨💨🌈

One thing I enjoyed bout Zeppelin was no media, tho they were all seasoned schooled natural performers, true high musicians, in all respects... qualities, and deep influenced,
They're older and Wiser now. Robert has always done most of the talking. Although Jimmy does a good bit here. I think they were tired too.
I have been watching dozens of their interviews over the last week while on holiday and I feel tired for them after watching this. I have come to realise that the life of a rock star is dam hard work.
I've played in unknown bands with no prospects and the hours you put in are enormous even at the lower levels. 5 or 6 four hour rehearsals for a support gig. Yeah it's tough but the bigger bands have an army of support staff that makes it easier, but it's still tough. If you're good at your craft it's easier because tickets sell themselves

So much talent in 2 men, In one group. We've been able to be with them the beginning and past their break up. Were sad that they wouldn't be on stage together forever but Robert Plant said it best in an interview Led zeppelin had its time. When you suffer the loss of a child it will either kill you or give you the wisdom of God. Robert Plant was blessed with a little boy for 5 years and he was broken by the loss but by the time of this interview he knew that their was nothing to fight about anymore so he was very diplomatic to Jimmy Page who didn't even show up for the funeral of his son. We have to respect how gracious Robert Plant has been considering he's sitting next to a man who couldn't show him kindness when he needed it most.
When anybody speaks of Led Zeppelin let us not forget that there were two other people in that band. JOHN PAUL JONES & JOHN BONHAM. Without their untouchable talent therefore would be no Zeppelin. Not ss we no them back then and now.

It looks a little bit funny when some of the journalist behaved like kids and been very excited seeing "Gods of Rock" :) That`s because in Poland till that time it was not too many gigs of all these great bands. Now it is completely a diffirent story.

It's probably a good thing that Page/Plant was done less than a year after this interview. "Doing it forever?" Not with each other, that's for sure. It was a rolling nostalgia tour with some flittery bits to keep Plant happy, and by 1998 the flittery bits were gone, and so was Plant.
Yeah Plant didn’t want a led zep part 2 and stripping it down to basically a 4/5 piece made it too close for him. He didn’t want to make it a “rock” band
apart from a threw shows with the black crowes page was finished for good after this

My opinion is...
Stones, Beatles absolutely.. Amazing obviously.
I just don't think anyone was better than 2 bands in the Rock period 67-78. Several be right up there. Close even.
But 4 guys bringing individual talent, creating amazing records and extraordinary live..
Their music always evolving, trailblazing...quite difficult to replicate accurately as well. Good/ Great bands have 1 or 2 other worldly talented members. Maybe.
But Four? All singular other worldly talented.

I've seen both in concert. Zeppelin blew my mind, we had a great time ! The Who was my oldest brothers favorite, they blew my ear drums!! I was just 14? Maybe to young for The Who. I was 15 at Zeppelin though and I just loved them !!!!
Most High is a brilliant song and is actually better than many of the other Led Zep songs.
Which of these two looks more over?
Typical interview questions that are not relevant to Page and Plant, like, promo concert, or typical questions a new band could get. Like Plant stated, they do what they want, when want, IF they want to, because they love what they do, and want to be in Poland for the fans. It is VERY obvious that they the press there didn't do their homework or even know what they have done in the past to get to this point. So, you get cranky responses sometimes because I do not blame them, they get questions like, how do you compare yourselves to the Beatles when they did one of the first interviews, Plant was like, we don't, next question, do you see your band in competition with the Beatles? and on and on, lol, Led Zep should just have a photo op for the press and call it a day, or have the proper fan interview them and get a real sincere conversation about the music and what they are doing at the time. Granted this was a long way back, its a sad trend where the press are lazy and don't take the time to know who is in front of them.
07:48 I love Jimmy here. Cole is a sell out. Supposedly these guys are still on friendly terms with Richard Cole, but as Carmine Appice said one time, everything that Richard Cole says you need to take with a grain of salt. The guy was either drunk or severely addicted to heroin throughout his entire tine with Zeppelin and ended up getting fired due to his addictions. He hit hard times, and as Robert implies, whatever he coughed up to Stephen Davis for "Hammer of the Gods" wasn't enough. I re-read that book recently, and it just reeks of horse manure. Everything in that book is over the top just to titillate readers. As Carmine Appice said (Appice stayed pretty much straight throughout his career, so unlike Cole, I trust his memory), the mischief mainly involved road crew members, and a lot of the stuff just plain didn't occur. However, the surviving members of Zeppelin have a chance to make "Hammer of the Gods" and "Stairway to Heaven" go out of print, and that is to write their own autobiography instead of selling Zep fans a 50th anniversary photo book that isn't nearly as good as Jimmy's photo book. They should get a respectable editor and write a definitive autobiography in the style of "Walk This Way" from Aerosmith or "One Way Out" by the Allman Bros. where the band members (and their trusted associates.....if they want) tell their own story from beginning until the end. If you have read either of those books, you understand the format. There is no ghost writer. The band members just tell their own story. I have talked to many Zep fans, and what they want is not the mud shark story or how many drugs Jimmy ingested. They want to know how Page wrote the music to "The Rain Song" at his home studio. They want to know why the band chose ABBA's Polar Studios in Sweden to record their "In Through The Out Door" record. They want to know why the planned EP of the three leftover songs from the "In Through The Out Door" sessions was never was put out. They want to know about their most memorable gigs. They want to know what they had planned for their 1980 North American tour. What was the set list going to be like? Was "Carouselambra" really going to get played on the 1980 North American tour? In other words, they want to read about the music and its impact on them and the lives of their fans. Robert saying he can't remember any of it is just a cop out to avoid talking about the mud sharks and groupies. If you get these guys talking about the music, you'd get a superb autobiography. But if they choose to stay silent, unauthorized LZ books will continue until the planet earth blows up. Last I heard, Cole was working on yet another Zeppelin book. Stop it guys! Do your own book.

I was born in 1986, so I don’t know much about these dirty stories. My love for LZ started since I was born because my dad is a fanatic for them, and he doesn’t talk about these things ‘cause it doesn’t matter. I agree with you, I think they should write their own biographies. I read the book “Light & shade: conversations with Jimmy Page” and I liked it, it’s a book like you said, Jimmy talking about music, things that fans want to know. Unfortunately many people have a dirty mind, they just want to know about scandals. I want to know about your songs, your careers, I love LZ, I love Jimmy and I’m happy when I see how well he looks now, very healthy at the age of 76. But I never forget a phrase from my dad, he hates Richard Cole, he said “ I want this guy to go to hell!”

This is an interesting and hilarious press conference in its own way. The questions were definitely more interesting than the ones in Japan and Australia. It seems these guys did their homework. Another thing I found interesting was the question about the biographies. All famous people have issues w/others around them trying to make a buck off their names. Though I do believe they might've been peppered w/fiction, I think there might be a little truth to them. Now that they're older, they might find some of their actions a little embarrassing?! Maybe it's just me but when you engage in character assassination something tells me there may be a little truth to the stories. It doesn't matter anyway because most rock stars have done questionable things but I guess when you're on the road you have to find ways to amuse yourself or else you could go crazy.

As a Zeppelin ( well, Brutish Invasion)historian for decades, starting in the 80s, just before Hammer of the Gods was published.
I discovered historical discrepancies, stories twisted around, dates wrong.

I have had the good fortune of meeting, spending time and playing with people who ...would know. So that helped.

Im trying to think...Back in 77, I dont remember Bobby and Jimmy telling me about nubules and nubletts. They told me about the weebler wobblers, which I could not stop laughing about and kept wondering if they were serious, but they really were. Jimmy looks as if he had health problems. Probably something to do with the liver or kidneys. He looks like my aunt when she had those problems.
He DID have them, and they date back to Led Zeppelin's early days, according to Peter Grant.

I'm shocked at hearing Robert saying that Freddie Mercury/QUEEN was/is not music he is/was interested in...I frankly consider QUEEN being an extension of Led Zeppelin...

@@dreadpirateroberts4052 Robert Plant openly declared Freddie a better singer than him during an interview years ago. That was very admirable of him. I love Robert's voice, it's phenomenal, but Freddie did have training and a pretty unmatched technical prowess.
I'm sorry, but you're a bit too harsh here about Zep. "Borrowing" tunes and changing and expanding on them was the culture of old blues music--they all did it. This at the time was not considered wrong...yes, even without giving credit. For the good of everyone this changed and credits were required to be given, but we cannot argue that Jimmy Page knows how to craft a song from anything and explode its power. He is a genius.

Elaine Mclaughlin : i agree. and also to have your best friend die (Bonzo) and then being the one to have to tell Bonzo’s wife and son Jason the next day. the lines in Robert’s face shows all of this. but more importantly his sensitive spirit has survived through it all.

@@somerset8088 Just a couple of years before that Robert and his wife drove off a cliff and were both in wheelchairs for half a year and he said they didn't even know if they'd walk again. It's as if Robert had 5 years of tragedy after tragedy, the poor man.
