@@tmi_7 I’ve researching it and I have a rebuttal, first of all people using the word to promote the slave trade is awful and twisted. But in the Bible the “slaves” were commanded to be treated as paid workers, like a maid, and after 7 years had to be freed, and people who were slaves were slaves for either money, or to repay a debt they owed the person, god tells them too treat them with respect, and even give them parting gifts on the 7 year, god says if you kill them that you will be punished. And about the part that says they can beat them if they recover is ONLY if the “slave” had wronged him. (Slept with his wife or something) And EVEN THEN if the master were too knock a tooth out, or an eye out, or a finger, or a broken arm or something. The slaves was to be let free with all debts paid off. Those evil men using the Bible to justify the slave trade was twisted, wrong, and was done by horrendous sinners, and was most definitely influenced by Satan. Exodus 21 doesn't say anything about you can ONLY beat your slave if they've wronged you. It just says you can beat them as long as they don't die. Listen to yourself!!! You're arguing that owning another human being, even for 7 years, treating a HUMAN as property is OKAY!! Just listen to yourself justifying slavery. You should be ashamed.
Not true. Strangers that took hold of the covenant according to isaiah 56 and leviticus 19:33-34 could only serve 6 too. Deuteronomy 24:14-16 clearly says it. Leviticus 25:44-46 applies to wicked nations hence dueteronomy 20:11-12, isaiah 14:1-2

All other slaves are for life as in Leviticus 25, 44-46: “Your male and female slaves are to come from the nations around you; from them you may buy slaves. 45 You may also buy some of the temporary residents living among you and members of their clans born in your country, and they will become your property. 46 You can bequeath them to your children as inherited property and can make them slaves for life, but you must not rule over your fellow Israelites ruthlessly.” Also, I will not reply further as it sickens me that you defend Slavery and don’t wish to mire myself in your filth. Call me a coward if you will, but at least I don’t defend Slavery.

This channel, this video, is yet another example of the dishonesty of Christians. In his summary of Exodus 21:1-11, he completely skips over verse 4, which talks about how children born to a slave are to be lifelong slaves with no rules for releasing them. So the Hebrew god not only condoned slavery, but he decreed that child slavery should exist.
Verse 4 shows that if “the master gives him a wife” and they have children then the child belongs to the master. But if the man came with a wife, the whole family can go free in the 7th year. It also never says that the child will be a slave. Simply the master has civil rights over the child.

@Nick Brasing if they grievously injure the slave the slave is free. If they marry the slave or treat them as a wife (sex) they get all rights as a wife (property, children, rights under the law) or they are free. If the slave is murdered so the person who did it was typically put to death. I'm not denying they did slavery but it's not like it's the same as American slavery.

Is chattel slavery somehow ok or good so long as it has the right rules? I don't think so. And Biblical slavery and American slavery have more in common than they do differences. For example; 1. Owned as property? Both 2. Owned for their entire lives? Both 3. Children born to them automatically became slaves too? Both 4. Could be beaten? Both 5. Bought from other nations? Both 6. Could not be killed? Both (look it up) 7. Forced to work? Both 8. Didn't get paid? Both 9. Involuntary? Both 10. Families could be broken up? Both More similarities that you typically hear about. But one is bad and one is not? I just don't see it.

Skipped non-Hebrew slaves. They served for life/Jubilee. Only Hebrew slaves served 6.
