      I got these ones at Mile 12 market in Lagos but you can generally find them in every local market in Nigeria

    Have seen some people adding little grinded melon(egusi) to black soup....what's ur take on that....is it OK?

      Yes, we add a little grinded egusi too, it just serves as a thickener

      Pot is optional... traditional pot has its own feel tho but you will still get great taste from regular pot

    We call the Red prawns Ipa in Warri. Just say flat red crayfish for local understanding because some are pink, especially those sold by Sura in Lagos. Best place to find Red crayfish in Laos is Oyingbo. Thankfully its rainy season and just got some gloriius ones in Warri

      By the way, the Uda pod is called Xylopia; Egidije in my native tongue, Itsekiri. The spices does give it a new life of its own. Instead of palm oil, I tried banga water with its natural oils. Yum!
