Ah, the good old Assetto AI - reminds me of an old motor racing proverb: "You can take the driver out of Formula 3, but you can't take Formula 3 out of the driver." Great track, lovely cars, great racing. I think our friend Jimmy Broadbent would like the "on skill alone" quote.
Great video! These Formula Juniors are one of the best mods out there IMO. Not too much power, tricky handling and super lightweight. That´s how I like it. A little fun facts about the "Miker": The car was originally known as "Mitter-DKW" and was built by Gerhard Mitter himself when he made the step from motorcycles to cars. The engine was a 1 litre 3-cylinder 2-Stroke from the DKW/Auto Union 1000 which he modified from around 60 to 86 hp. During that time he also built these engines for Wolfgang von Trips and Peter Monteverdi. From 1960 he combined the DKW-engine with the Chassis´ from Lotus such as the Lotus 18, or Lotus 22. Following that he won 40 races in Formula Junior with a Lotus-DKW.
Yes, but it's not this track. The current Pau circuit was first used in 1933, and the current layout was first used in 1935. The race you're referring to is the 1930 French GP, held in a different, much faster road course. Sir Henry Birkin finished second in a "Blower" Bentley, beating the works Bugattis, but can't quite catch privateer Philippe Etancelin in his Bugatti Type 35.
What a time to have my rig disassembled (moving it to another room) - I just want to jump in and try this! Oh well, it's motivation to clean, rearrange, reassemble -- and race! Cheers for the recent content and Happy Holidays!
Loving your videos and amazed by the amount of effort you put into making them whether in terms of researching the history or revamping mods (as seen with the ai here). I've been racing in a fictional '68 sportscar series and it was only a few hours ago I was trying to alter the ai line towards the end of the lap at Pau myself. Seeing your linked alterations was a stroke of luck and it works perfectly too! Keep up the great work!
I love how well the lower cars are suited to Pau. Exactly why it is successful. Even in sims you can tell if a track is good for racing and, by and large, the ones that are remain whilst the ones that aren't, don't.
Really enjoying the AC stuff on your channel thanks - I've recently returned to AC for the historic content, especially the '50s and '60s cars and tracks and you're showing some excellent content in a very nice video style. This track obviously isn't the quality of some of FatAlfie's incredible circuits - Fonteny, Feldbergring or Thomson Road - or even Sergio's best works like Rouen, Sudschleife and Zandvoort but the reason I had deleted it from my HD was the AI just wasn't worth racing against. So thanks for improving this, I'll definitely give it another go. Anyhow, some carset recommendations for AC: - the stock Porsche 908, Ford GT40 and Ferrari 330P play really well together, even nicer if mixed in with Mantasisg/Aphidgod's Jaguar XJ13 - a combination of Pessio's 'Scorpion' (Abarth), his Minis and AD3R's Honda S800RSC make an excellent low powered touring grid - the Alfa Guiletta Spider and Healy Sprite, both on RD, are a good low powered combo Anyway, look forward to whatever you put out next.
Great race, great content, looks so, so good and you really have to keep on top of the car 100% or lose it....very nice racing and Assetto Corsa is just so flexible as a Sim...
Always happy to see you keeping up racing in AC! For me, I'm pretty sure Assetto Corsa will have the same future GPL had, and never get old and kept updated by the fans, hoping that they will keep creating new quality Mods! Unfortunately there isn't a big community like GPL has, but I hope in time it will.
@@armorgeddon coronavirus. But the fact it isn't running for 2 years in a row is giving locals that don't like it reason to say to get rid of it altogether

Thanks for the ai download. I've recently been working my way through all my mod tracks in assetto corsa re doing the ai fast lane and track boundary lines to achieve some better racing. Just seen your recent upload using 70s tyres on earlier cars , how easy is it to do that, is it by modifying the car template? PS you should try these open wheelers in VR the immersion is fantastic. Great content recently. Glad to see you back posting consistently, I love the channel and content 🙂👍
I really need to download some of these historic cars and courses. I actually bought ams2 after watching you race in Brazil with the 80’s gp cars.

Modern sims should put more emphasis on single player. If you had an SP campaign with the intro you made for this track it would be an awesome thing.

As always, excellent engaging content. FWD formula junior, who knew.....
I love seeing f4 around Pau.
Beautifully entertaining as usual :-)

Speaking of 60's formula junior tracks. Would be cool to see a video on the strange Roskilde Ring
I live in Pau and love driving the track in AC. It's a shame the race is potentially dying out and I'm trying to fight for it.
Really? Hope they keep I going, good luck!
What's the reason they think about ending the racing at Pau?

I think the developer is making it free, i would check again soon

if you dont have lift oversteer in a front wheel drive car your rear tyres arent inflated enough, youll start finding fwd a lot more fun
You ever do any of the late 60s early 70s Trans Am Racing?
This is the perfect game for classic cars could you dry some late 90s f1 cars

HAAHAHAAHAHA NÃO
Do you need a PC for these DLCs or can you use them on a console (like PS4)?
Yes, PC only AFAIK.
Anyone know why we can only get one of the two cars ( The Miker ). Can't seem to find the second one on the site?
Is it just me or where is the download for the other car that’s not being driven here?
Thats odd, heres the other one sellfy.com/f3classictracks/p/apxbdn/

whats the mod for the classic styled timing board at 6:00?
www.racedepartment.com/downloads/classic-pitboard.16328/
around 1'50 laps time ???? I think in Real Life, the cars should be a little faster; In 1959, Bordeu got pole with 1'46.6
Fast lap for this race was a 46.87, so pretty close, really. And without that spin, the last lap could well have been even quicker.
with those soapcaskets you need to coast trough corners. much faster

That's because it's based on the Auto Union 1000 as someone wrote in another comment. Here's the car: de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Auto_Union_1000
