@@ladytron9188 I mean it's money you are already going to spend. 500 dollars is not a lot for a yearly budget for food. Most people probably spend double that.
What! No 2 year supply? Take it home & hoard it! They raise prices ALL the time! The more I tried to spend less, the more they raised their prices! Just saying!
I actually work at Costco. The store is actually set up in sections for a reason. It’s easier to stock later at night and it’s not meant to be confusing. Normally the store is the same at every location. Most of the time the stuff marked with a .79 or .99 is not going away but if it has an “*” then that means it’s an item that once the stock they have is gone it’s gone unless costumers request it. Costco is super customer friendly and if they don’t have it they will try to make it come in. And they have long expirations dates on their food because it comes in bulk to them like it’s going out to smaller bulk for the consumer. With membership cards if you go and you have a cash card more often then not if they employee doesn’t already know they also still have to see a member ship card and that card holder has to make the purchase to count for the 2% back or really to purchase the items. Also along with that at membership services you can have an item for 10 years and if you still have the receipt then you can still return it, doesn’t matter if it’s out of stock or not they bring it to local shelters in the area if the item isn’t in stock in the stores but if it is then its going to go out when it gets discounted. And the food in the food court looks good but definitely shouldn’t eat it because it’s prepackaged and frozen then brought out to the food court and stays on the merchandise shelf for possibly months. I started in the food court and wouldn’t recommend getting the food even for the super good price it’s at. Because the food could be sitting there for hours even though it has an hour life after being brought to 165. But Costco is a super great company to work for because they have so many resources that will help families. I work with a lady that knew no English when coming to America and they helped her with getting a house and her daughters schooling and now is helping her with English studies and getting her on the very best health care plan, everyone gets healthcare with full dental and vision. They also pay for vacation and sick leave and after a couple years of working there they’ll just give you $3000 every 6 months for being an employee. It’s an amazing company to work for, to shop at for small businesses or big families!!
As a single guy who works in construction, being able to buy specific products either in bulk or increased size, Costco is perfect for me particularly for prices compared to other grocery stores. The annual fee if no issue. I bought my sister a membership for her family and now her kids have lunch for school everyday instead of her stressing out if she'll have enough to buy food and lunch for the kids
🤫If you forget to bring your lunch one day and are short of cash, to get a free lunch that day, stop by at Costco and eat the free samples. 🤭 Then go back to work satisfied. 🤗 UPDATE: 🤔If you forget your lunch "again" another day, drive the other way to Sam's Club and do the same shit. 🤫 😁😄

For my family of 5, we found that when the kids were younger, the Executive membership was worth the price. Now that the kids are older and we're looking at an empty nest, the Gold membership suits us best. We still shop Costco, but not as often. Produce is great only if you actually plan on eating it with a specific amount of time, otherwise, you're best getting it from your local grocery store. As mentioned in the video, the frozen section is your friend, but even frozen foods have a shelf life as well. If you love beef, pork, and/or seafood, then splurging for steaks, loin, and fish/shellfish while fresh can be a great buy because you can always separate or cut up the meat, freeze it, and have it all year round. For that, the Ziploc freezer bags are a great buy. Costco is great for feminine products (especially with more than one female over 10 in the home), diapers, some OTC medications, and other household items. When it comes to electronics and appliances, you might be getting the best deal, but just know that many of the models will not be the most current model available from the manufacturer.
The bigger irony is that it flopped in the Box Office. Budges was $4 million, but made only $0.5 million in the Box Office. Showing how the creators of the movie were ahead of their time. Then Trump became President, right when you thought America couldn't choose dumber than George Bush Jr. The prophecy keeps unfolding.
Went to Costco and got my membership. Bought a whole years worth of toiletries (toilet paper, shampoo, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant), a chest freezer full of meat and vegetables, $200 worth of gift cards and a 60" 4k TV for a total of $2000, or roughly $40 a week for a years worth of essentials plus a new TV and a nice night out for my wife and I. Very much well worth the $60 membership fee. Oh and BTW, I also filled up my car and my wife filled up her van with gas for 10¢ a litre less than the nearest gas station and saved $10 in gas alone.
The best tip for saving fresh meats and freezer safe items is to buy a Food Saver from costco and use it portion and freeze these items for later. Go ahead buy that whole ribeye those steaks will keep in the food saver bags for months.

after 2 yrs of membership and comparing prices with outside competators I saw no value with that store. its all hype and almost like a religion. I canceled my membership another reason was inconsistency with products one time their there and next time their not
As a current employee of costco and one who does those moves the goal is not to change the layout just to make it confusing and so people spend more money. The goal is to get new products in certain areas, items in the right place if they will be used as samples, and similar products next to each other
I have to disagree with the executive member thing. I split a regular membership with a family member (in the same house). So I pay $30 a year. Feeling the NEED to spend a minimum amount per year in order to break even incites you to purposely spend more money. I heard from a coworker that the money back on executive membership is given to you in the form of a coupon to be used on a purchase. So it has to be used all at once, not split between multiple purchases. Again, encouraging you to grab more items out of want rather than need. There is a reason they push you for executive membership, because it benefits them more than you. Just like extended warranties at other stores
That’s not true! I can use mine towards groceries and get the balance back in cash or cash out the whole credit slip at the merchandise counter or pay it towards my membership renewal!! Costco is THE BEST!!
I watch for the Costco brochure when it comes in the mail. I Circle the things that are on sale so next time I go I can get just them. There's only certain things I buy there but I know I'm saving quite a bit of money when I get them. I have to shop that way because random shopping means random blowing money.
Moving a products around the warehouse can piss people off also because if they're looking for a specific item they don't want to wander up and down aisles looking for it, and if you ask somebody that works there where is this item they'll shrug their shoulders or send you to the wrong aisle...
Nice Video, but you got one thing wrong. You said White Rice has a shelf life of 5 years, well that is wrong, if it is stored right it will last Indefinitely. Same thing with Honey and White Sugar.
That's what the executive membership is what Costco is banking on. You spend $6,000 which means they get rid of product that would have been sitting on the shelves quicker.
Actually, if they spend $250/month, at least here in Ontario, Canada, it will be worth it for them to upgrade. & Its 2% back on ALL purchases except the Costco gas station.
4:25 as Asian who eats rice every day. i want to tell you one thing... rice that skin peeled (white rice) over 10 month is considered as bad rice.... shelf life of 5 years? it is same thing like "this barget is fresh and safe to eat in 3 years. you can keep whole rice unpeeled for long time just like you can store bread flour for long time. but not the peeled rice Asians doesn't like to eats even last year's rice(6 month old) . sorry for bad english .
Yep we only bought membership once. We like to buy things that we want, the brands we like. We found Costco only had things that they want to sell. One week they sold coffins, can’t remember the last time I thought, oh better go to a supermarket to buy a coffin. I took control of my shopping by not renewing at Costco.
I've considered signing up for Costco but this video pretty much talked me out of it. I absolutely HATE businesses that continually rotate their inventory to force me to hike around trying to find it again. I very rarely shop at Target for that very reason. The place is laid out like a maze and it's impossible to walk a straight line to anything.
@@mikelouis9389 - I might agree with you if the closest Costco to me wasn't at least a 50 mile round trip to get to. From what I've read, the minimum fee to join up is $60/year. Even at 15 to 20 cents/gallon, that's a lot of gasoline to buy before you break even.
@@steverhodes7036 Try bringing a sixpack or more of empty 5 gallon gas cans and filling them up. For me, that's the way to go. Hell, it's a twenty mile round trip just to get to a mini market. When she talked about concierge service and the two year warranty I realized she has no clue and is lying about what is good and bad. Concierge service is a waste of time and cannot deal with any kinds of problems and the extra year on a warranty is a joke as I tried to get it on a computer I purchased that died after 1 year and two months and they kept me on the phone for 4 hours asking question after question after question without even getting the unit fixed. I had to go to the store manager and have him agree to let me send it to an independent repair company and they pay the bill or to refund the full cost of the computer. They paid the bill. Lesson learned is that both of the benefits were worthless.
Kirkland Individual Hummus in boxes of 20 single portions are REALLY GOOD! Their paper towels and toilet paper are great too. Kirkland frain free dog foodsaves us $100's every year
I love Costco. I am never distracted by the stuff in the front aisles. I go there to shop only for basic necessities. I am a single professional with no kids, but I will bulk buy important items like their Kirkland toilet paper and paper towels, laundry and dish detergents, coffee, meat and frozen items. These items are the costliest at regular stores with their retarded business model of marking up their merchandise to gouge the customer. Once I saw how big a price margin retail chains were charging, I never looked back. The local store sells individual rolls of Kirkland toilet paper for $5.99 each. Why would I give them my $$$, when for $9.00 more I can get the 50-pack of the same product?
Lol we own a commercial cleaning company and I was waiting for a reference to cleaning and buying large amount of product. We spend about $15,000 and up a year on product and new trial product.
IF you work there, you get paid double what their competitor pays! And Sam's also charges $50 per membership, while you can carefully price match and actually sometimes pay less by buying them on sale at other stores, like Aldi's or even Wal-mart.

As a current employee of costco and one who does those moves the goal is not to change the layout just to make it confusing and so people spend more money. The goal is to get new products in certain areas, items in the right place if they will be used as samples, and similar products next to each other
This sounds a lot like an ad.
THE PERSON WHO MADE THIS VIDEO WORKS FOR COSTCO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1:59 is that Louie Anderson playing Zach Galifinakis’? Mom?
FloydofOz I saw that and was gonna day the same thing! Lol
FloydofOz it is him. From the show Baskets
Costco has the cleanest washrooms too.
Costco layouts aren't confusing... They are way more consistent than Grocery stores. Even when hundreds or thousands of miles apart
Moving a products around the warehouse can piss people off also because if they're looking for a specific item they don't want to wander up and down aisles looking for it, and if you ask somebody that works there where is this item they'll shrug their shoulders or send you to the wrong aisle...
It's unanimous, Costco either owns this RUclips or they pay heavy for sponsorship.
Nick Trella
I doubt it, I love costco and have been a member in the uk for 19 years. If I made this video I'd say even more than this.
Yes, i know! the 1000 videos about Costco are a infallible clue!
Costco is literally one of the best stores to shop at.
Impossible. A sponsorship must be revealed in order to be legal. Mashed would have to cross the law to be sponsored by costco without telling us.
@@tomhill3248 not in America right?
I know exactly what to buy, nothing more!
Nice Video, but you got one thing wrong. You said White Rice has a shelf life of 5 years, well that is wrong, if it is stored right it will last Indefinitely. Same thing with Honey and White Sugar.
In an Air Tight container. That way the insects, and moisture will not get into it.
Tech Stomper -in the freezer, weevils don’t get a chance to survive.
8:40 Never knew you can get life contentful of happiness on your face looking at costco buying guide.
Deja vu I've seen this before XD
Welcome to the Now CNN aired “inside the Costco craze” about 3-4 years ago
Costco is a great place to shop
That's what the executive membership is what Costco is banking on. You spend $6,000 which means they get rid of product that would have been sitting on the shelves quicker.
I work at Costco and trust me returning items that members don’t work can be crazy cause of the changes they make actually everyday
That looks like Louie Anderson dressed as a women shopping in the video. Thanks for the info
irrespective of your video, this does not affect my shopping habits at costco, Costco is $$$ saver, and I love it
Actually, if they spend $250/month, at least here in Ontario, Canada, it will be worth it for them to upgrade. & Its 2% back on ALL purchases except the Costco gas station.
I saved over $500 on TP and sanitizing wipes alone in the last few months. Ooops! Did I out myself as a hoarder???
4:25 as Asian who eats rice every day. i want to tell you one thing... rice that skin peeled (white rice) over 10 month is considered as bad rice.... shelf life of 5 years? it is same thing like "this barget is fresh and safe to eat in 3 years. you can keep whole rice unpeeled for long time just like you can store bread flour for long time. but not the peeled rice
Asians doesn't like to eats even last year's rice(6 month old) .
sorry for bad english .
Here's how I saved money at Costco: 1. Got rid of my Executive Membership. 2. Stopped my wife from shopping at Costco.
caiobabe so true bro
I found it was to high for me.
Welcome to Wal*Mart. LMFAO. Glad you left.
I loled
Costco does not put any category signage in the aisles because they literally want you to walk through the entire store.
I guess you also object to paying, on average 15 to 20 cents a gallon less for gasoline? That alone makes it worth being a member.
And the gas isn't the only money saver, it's just an obvious relatable one. But, if you don't like it, then you can do whatever you want.
Steve Rhodes can’t you just ask a worker to show you the paces of things?
Here in Madrid, Spain, Costco it’s basic used for it cheaper gas, and some american or organic products you can’t find in regular groceries. But for us those big packages don’t make sense because most everyvody live in flats.
I always buy Kirkland water every time I go there
U buy water??? Smart 😨😨😨
Welcome to Costco, I love you.
This video forgets to mention Costco’s (as well as Sam’s club) profit comes from their membership fee.
Seniors hate the treasure hunt experience and the short time some products are available. We believe consistency demonstrates trustworthiness.
Sometimes I buy in bulk and donate what I’m not going to use. I spend just as much or less and also do some good.
Just FYI, since of what is said only applies to US stores.
In Australia, there is no online shopping for example.
I’d love to upgrade...but there is no $120 option here in Australia 🤣
I am on the verge of dropping my Costco Membership because I can't seem to find a handicap cart to use. I am an amputee and can't navigate a Costco store on my prosthetic leg. I have asked repeatedly for more electric carts at my local Costco to no avail.
1:58 - Louie Anderson has really gone down hill
well i love louie, he's from my home state of minnesota.

Walking through the door in the first place is the first and only mistake I make.
Well, thanks for the warning. I just got from this that I don't want a membership. I hate shopping anyway so I don't need more of this whole twisted head game stores like to play with rearranging aisles and tricking you into passing more merchandise. Screw that.
A very good retailer for busy people. Here both time and labor are being saved.
how has no one commented on louie anderson walking around costco in drag????
Yeah..sad . Too much programming going on
Te-lie-vision . Made Louie a tran for an agenda . Hellyweird
Pretty sure people noticed
I just wish Costco would step up their rotisserie chicken game. Dry and flavorless. But for the price its still an incredible deal.
Convenience stores love costco.. especially when they're able to mark up prices
I literally have the card for my two German Shepherds. Grain free food for them is awesome.
Biggest mistake is going there for a hotdog. $1.50 hotdog and drink combo turns into $200 in about 15min.
Lol sooo true!
$200? Our minimum is 400... sadly
Just go there for lunch and leave
If you that cheap to go just for hot dog, well, enough said!
If you spent 200.00, look at the quality and savings!
@@lorm.3153 you greedy wench, miss all the sales, your a wally world reject, walmart imports 95% of their crap from China...keep supporting them!
One big mistake shopping at Costco, you only get 2% back on money you spend after you paid a membership of 120 dollars. while many other store offer upto 20% on many items.
3:15 buy the gift cards with a cash back credit card and save even more
I was drinking Grey Goose vodka but a friend said to try Costcos. I absolutely cannot tell the difference - and it's so much cheaper.
I like their vodka too.
The Kirkland butter is Berkeley Farms 100% guaranteed.
9:29 I don't think I have ever seen cheeseburger at the food court there haha
Costco TP is our favorite. This video is wrong there! Top quality
Mary Samsonite yes I actually have. It may not be charmin but I’m ok with that 😉
Charmin is worth it if ur buying in bulk.
Brian Waller Charmin is just a more comfortable toilet paper haha. More pleasant experience when ur wiping ur ass lol!!
I was looking at Duracell AA batteries because they were on sale. A Costco employee told to get the Kirkland batteries, because they were made by Duracell, and the same size pack at regular price was less than the Duracell sale price.
Either way I love to shop at Costco
Am I the only one that saw Sal Vulcano from Impractical Jokers at 3:15 LOL
Layne W OMG no! But ty for pointing that out thats so funny!
Ahhhh Mashed, you don’t have a clue how much ketchup I go through in 2 years
I relish the fact that you mustard the courage to sit down and ketchup. mayo hopes and dreams cum true.
Bring your patience !!! Its not the young folks at our store that are rude ,its the entitled over 60 folks that need a refresher on how to act in public 😬
Kirkland frain free dog foodsaves us $100's every year
...this video made me realize I don’t need to shop at Costco lol 😂
The Costco Cash card is a good idea for me.
Lol we own a commercial cleaning company and I was waiting for a reference to cleaning and buying large amount of product. We spend about $15,000 and up a year on product and new trial product.
After a friend recommended costco. I went and got a member ship only to end up spending like 300 dollars and 100 gallons of mustard.
As someone who worked at Costco for 5 years I have no reason to go back
I buy what I need. I don't buy what another people think I need.
that's brave
IF you work there, you get paid double what their competitor pays! And Sam's also charges $50 per membership, while you can carefully price match and actually sometimes pay less by buying them on sale at other stores, like Aldi's or even Wal-mart.
NO INDIVIDUALLY WRAPPED SNACKS LEAD TO MORE WASTE!!! Cmon mashed smh :-(
Excellent video. Very helpful!
How is Sal from Impractical Jokers in this video @ 3:15?? 👀👀 LOL!
SoTweetie they did an episode here
