    Excellent video! Don’t think I could have done it without it. I like that you got straight to work without a lot of extra talk too. Nice job on the install.

    Thanks for the video. Couple of questions.
    Once the truck has been remotely started from the outside of the truck, then i get in, do i then need to place the key into the ignition and turn to "on" position in order to drive?
    Have you heard of or experienced any problems with seat or steering wheel controls once installed and working?
    Do you happen to know the max range at which the remote starting kit works?
    Thanks in advance!

      @automahntic  5 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, after remote starting the vehicle you must turn the key to "On" position otherwise the engine will shut off once you press the brake pedal.
      Never had or heard of any issues with the seat or steering controls so far. Hasn't had any other type of errors either.
      The max range would be whatever your original key fob is set to. So whatever distance you get with that would be the same even after the install. There is no extra antenna in the kit.
      Thanks for the comment!

    Great job! Explanation was perfect 👍 Is there one remote starter kit or manufacturer that you would recommend over another?

      Thank you! So There are 3 top remote start modules which is Start-X, MPC, and 12-volt solutions. Out of all of them Start-X is the most reliable and consistent in my opinion. After that it would be 12-volt solutions.

    The Amazon page states that this remote starter only works with the G key, it does not work with the dot key.
    Was your key the G key or the dot key?

    • @automahntic
      @automahntic  Год назад

      Yes, mine is the G key not the dot key.

    if you install this, could you start and use the truck as normal?

    • @automahntic
      @automahntic  8 месяцев назад

      Yes, as long as you turn the key to the "ON" position before pressing the brake. Then you can drive it like normal. If you press the brake before turning the key then the vehicle will shut off.

    Have you had any problems with this remote start? Other videos claim in the long run you start blowing fuses …

    • @automahntic
      @automahntic  11 месяцев назад +2

      So far I have had this for a couple years and had no issues such as blowing fuses or anything serious. One time the side marker lights did not turn off even after the engine turned off but that only happened one time. If any issues like this do happen I'm pretty sure that the company would offer assistance in order to resolve the issue. If any serious issues do pop up I will be sure to put an update.

    does the engine stay running when you open the drivers door?

    • @automahntic
      @automahntic  6 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, it only shuts off if you press the brake pedal without the key in the ignition turned to "ON." Also, after 15 minutes it will turn off by itself.

    The Amazon page video states, once you've remote started your truck you can no longer use the keyfob to unlock doors, is that true? So, does that mean opening the doors becomes manual thing each time?

    • @automahntic
      @automahntic  Год назад

      On my Tundra I was able to remote start it and unlock it with the keyfob. Only when I press the brake pedal without the key in the ignition turned to "ON" does the engine turn off. This should be the same features for other years as well.
