@joedoggett9969 I am just saying that fiorentina who have a billionaire owner lost to West ham last season.
To compete with premier league teams who have been in the league for 10+ seasons is near impossible especially with ffp.
The only championship team I could see possibly breaking into the lower top 10 would be Sunderland if they got a takeover sheikh mansour but even then look at Newcastle they have to sell guimares this summer.
      I'm just being objective.

Nope, the problem is not the United players. In their 2 full seasons with Ole, McKenna and Carrick, with “these same players”:
      - finished 3rd, then 2nd. 12 points off top, the closest United have got to winning the title since SAF left
      - beat City 3 times (twice at the Etihad) drawing once, in the 4 league games against them
      - conceded just ONE goal to City in 4 games, compared to Ten Hag’s THIRTEEN goals conceded in just 4 league games
      - coached United to an all-time league record of 29 AWAY games without defeat across THREE seasons
      - Compare that to Ten Hag’s away record over one and three quarter seasons = FOURTEEN Away defeats already…
So, clearly the problem is NOT “these same players”. It’s the manager… Eric Ten Hag and the quality of his coaching and game plans.

As an Ipswich fan living in Manchester, I have a few observations. You can't really compare United with Ipswich but McKenna's success is in no small part down to having the players, management, ownership and fans all on board. Clearly, that's not happening at United.
I'm sure McKenna will go on to be an elite level manager but hopefully after taking Ipswich back into the prem and into Europe. I don't think he would move at the moment as he seems very down to earth and patient.
I get the impression he's happy to take his time and build something at Ipswich.

I’m a Ipswich fan and can say there would be no chance of him taking any assistant job even one of your so called top six came a knocking. At the moment he’s got it made at Ipswich because we are building everything around him. So for him to leave it’s going to need to be one of the bigger premier league teams. I would still say he would need at least a season in the premier league before you make a go for him. Look what is happening with Vincent Kompany at Burnley. They were so good in the championship and now they look like they getting relegated and kompany looks out of his depth. But it pains me to say McKenna is going to the top and how much I would love it with Ipswich he will manage at the very top. Is he ready now for that? For me not quite yet but if we get promoted and have a season in the premier league I bet you the end of 2025 you would definitely want him

I saw him interviewed recently and he said something very interesting. He didn’t talk players, referees or tactics but culture. As you observe the players work hard but they are the essence of a good team- the sum greater than the parts. They consistently come back from losing positions and frequently score very late in the game. Players are regularly rotated and there is a pattern of second half subs changing the game. They do not argue about decisions and do not lose their heads. Everyone in the team can and does score. Above all, they have self belief. There is a lot of internet chat about them being lucky. l think that is because they are able to win games where they do not have control, so the opposition, like Russell Martin on Monday feel their team played better and “deserved” to win. Tactics and pressing are one thing: less tangible is culture. And if there is one thing which has gone wrong at United since Sir Alex, it’s culture. Just ask Jurgen and Pep

He was the one who set up the team at the beginning of Ole's interim period before that Dubai trip. Utd played football on the ground, no crosses, dominated in the oppositions half, overloads, chances, goals and that was that period that saw Pogba turn into one of the best midfielders in the world.. Ole wanted a more counter attack Sir Alex style which is fine so he changed it from that Dubai trip implementing his ideas but I loved watching Utd under McKenna's setup it was so similar to the U18s that he coached. IF there's a change, McKenna has to be first choice, I don't want to see him at another top 6 club.

The problem with United is toxic culture, big egos and lazy seniors. Not even Pep can change our fortunes with the current squad. We have good players but we don't have cohesiveness. If we truly back the manager, we must be willing to sell our "toxic" players on a cheap like what Arsenal did and promote youngsters that are willing to run and press for the manager, and not down tools every other weekend.

Not a chance McKenna takes a backward step & it’s probably too soon for him to get the United job outright but if he continues on his current trajectory then one day absolutely. To take Ipswich from 12th in League One to top of the Championship on the verge of Premier League promotion in two years is remarkable. Also competing vs Leeds, Leicester & Southampton who still have Premier League players, budgets etc.

As an Ipswich Town supporter Imam so glad Ipswich saw the potential in KM and brought him to Portman Road. Just like Ramsey and Robson before him he will move on to bigger and higher things. But while he is with us we need to enjoy the style of football he brings, entertaining, goals from all over the place and results. Even with the challenges of major players injured during the season, the captain getting too many yellow cards and getting suspended, and an inferior budget to the big three and their parachute payments from the premiership we are top of the championship 👏👏👏👏👏 whether its promotion this season or? We will see. 6 difficult games ahead, Norwich at carrow road, Watford at PR, Middlesborough at PR, Hull away, Coventry away and Huddersfield at PR last game of season unless in play offs. That would more than likely be against Norwich then at Wembley either WBA or. Southampton.

McKenna and Carrick's good work with less valued players post leaving is a tight slap on the face of unrealistic trigger happy fickle minded quick success seeking fans who were ready to blame them and Ole instead of acknowledging the all over the place recruitment of the club. Recruitment that had no plan in mind, no understanding of how player types and profiles complement in a squad. These execs who controlled transfers eventually created years of mess that would take time to organise into a consistent squad.

Like Xavi Alonso at Leverkusen I think it’s better for McKenna to stay at Ipswich probably for another year or two. See if he can get them to the Prem and stay up. Then it would be good idea for him to join a big team playing in the champions league as an assistant for a few years before he takes a head coach role at a team like United. He’s doing really awesome at the moment but the step up to the big teams is huge and he can’t mess that leap up if he wants a decent managerial career. We’ve seen how much Newcastle and Eddie Howe have struggled this season with the added pressure of playing in the premier league. Last season they finished top 4 and made it to a final of one of the cups but this season they’re gonna finish mid table. You can’t rush something like this.

I don’t think McKenna leaves Ipswich after this year obviously, because that run of form in the winter saved ETH, and what United need is to see how ETH with a third season, and specifically a full season of his “chaos” works for them (instead of 2 years or 2 1/2).
If ETH flames out, McKenna’s a shoe in to leave Ipswich for United in 2025. It’s why Ipswich need to be promoted this year. When Leeds didn’t go up in 2018-19 with Bielsa, it probably stung more than people think because Bielsa didn’t get that extra year in the Prem. Same goes for McKenna and Ipswich if they don’t go up this year.
He also isn’t taking an assistant job. That’s like saying Michel Sanchez should be an assistant at Man City for a year.

United is obviously a much bigger club, but Ipswich are a much better club to manage at the moment. People of my age will remember Bobby Robson turning United down in 1980. And quite rightly. We went on to win the UEFA cup and finished ahead of United for a couple of seasons as they floundered under Ron Atkinson.

ETH and RR both played ways we would love to see as we can see here McKenna tactics and a number of mangers linked with us are (not all btw Southgate, Frank) but will the players play it. Will they listen, hmmm so far not so, what's going to change if we don't change a lot of them.

Tbf, we have spent a few quid on a new pitch, will be improving the training facilities, which he wanted and more to come. Since he came it's been unreal. 30000 near every game now. Our owners have supported him with all the money spent. I think as we gave him his start in management he will stay. We are giving him all he wants. I know one day he will go and good luck. Although not a Man U we ain't a small club, and I think he wants to build to better things. I'm loving going to football at the mo rather than the shit the last few years. Good vid! Super K McKenna!🔵⚪️🟠

He wasn't good enough when he was with Ole and now he is better than ETH? You have to love the random trash in football you really do. You're talking about a Championship manager with no experience in Europe, handling top pros, handling a top job, or even being a top player, not to mention resetting a project 2 years in back to zero with a complete philosophy change yet again. How long does that idiocy continue for before the club gets a clue? i would be right now if van Gaal hadn't been sacked after his FA Cup win the next season United would have been contenders, we were that close to finishing his changes and looking like a side. In what reality did ETH inherit anything like a team and situation which didn't have a torrid time getting back to where it should be? It wasn't a 2 year job and still isn't. Consider this if we had a fully fit defense most of the season many of those last minute lost points would have been won and we would have made top 4 fine. top 4 and an FA Cup win in year 2, its a job well done. There has to be common sense here, support the manager, get him the support he needs to stop the injuries, get him some solid players to work with.
