  • The #SubaruForester is now the company's best-selling model in the US. For 2022, ‪@Subaru‬ is giving this model a refresh and introducing the most off-road capable #Forester ever, dubbed the #ForesterWilderness. Just like the #OutbackWilderness, we get more ground clearance, unique wheels on all-terrain tires, upgraded suspension components and a unique exterior and interior design. While the #Wilderness model won't be going off-road with those lifted Jeep's, this does make the new #SubaruForesterWilderness one of the most capable compact SUV's in the segment.

    Happy Monday everyone! We actually ended up really enjoying our time with the new Forester Wilderness. If Subaru would put the 2.4T in it from the Outback, we may actually prefer it over its bigger brother. What should Subaru Wilderness next? Our money is on the Crosstrek!

    Everyone wants a turbo Forester...but nobody wants to spend $42,000 on a Forester. Frankly the Forester is great for what it is, and handles off-road sketchy areas really well...it's main selling point is that Subaru is so much better to deal with than GM, Dodge, etc...

    Great video. Bought one today just like this 😀 After being traumatized by dealer at another brand, Subaru experience was a pleasure. No markup, no messing around, no games. Straight shooters. Was out of there in two hours, including two test drives. Highly recommend Subaru.
    UPDATE: my new Subie is arriving immanently, yay! Was “crossing T’s and dotting the I’s” in preparation a couple of days ago with the dealer and they gave me a revised pricing sheet … total OTD actually came DOWN by a couple hundred clams! • @trojanmoondoggie4582
      @trojanmoondoggie4582 2 года назад

      I agree. Since Tesla started slapping a full on laptop computer on their dashboards, it seems like a lot (most?) cars are looking to do that. Even the Outback has a sizable infotainment center. I almost like the traditional here and it fits more with the Subaru identify of simple, utilitarian and practical. And not flashy.
      Though I will say I can appreciate the high level of safety advancements that Subaru puts into its vehicles. That's where I do dig on the technology.

    I truly don’t understand why so many people complain of the power and fuel economy. The Forester has plenty of power and pulls very adequately (having a ‘20 Limited), and feels more torquey than most comparable (rental) cars I’ve driven. There is no reason to expect more, much less need it. Cars with more “on paper” power personally feel slower and less impressive at times. There are many factors that come to play, not just peak horsepower (torque curve, gear ratios, weight). Fuel economy similarly is lower in cars than they report when most people get behind the wheel and driving style matters more than EPA ratings most of the time.

As one who has owned a '14 XV Crosstrek Premium and a '16 Forester XT Touring, take it from me when I say you will not be disappointed with this vehicle (get the Harman Kardon audio package). And you complain that Subaru has weak engines and poor acceleration in US. In Europe we have only 2.0 engines are offered as a e-hybrid on top of the same variator, and it doesn't move at all :) The only conceivable option is the Outback which gets the same 2.5 engine. But if you are never in a hurry and do not plan to any overtakes, then it a very nice looking car with good off-road capability.

    I have a Crosstrek and hoping they come out with a wilderness version of it. The Forester and Outback Wilderness editions are fantastic looking! There's no doubt about it that Subaru makes VERY compelling package and vehicles for the price point. Especially with the Crosstrek, I don't know how they include all of the features they do at the price they sell it. As far as that roof window goes, only thing I can think of is that it might be like the windshield where it has a layer of protective plastic sandwiched in which protects from the suns ray penetrating to the inside of the vehicle.

There’s not much interesting stuff in the forester. I like the older one more than this. And this is not really a hard core off roader like the Jeep Wrangler, Ford Bronco and Toyota 4 Runner. Like for example, doesn’t have advanced off road features like 4WD mode, locking diffs, etc. This also doesn’t have a turbo anymore. They took it out of the forester for the 2019 model year.

Actually they do quite well off road, yes they are not rock climbers, but for the majority of people that purchased them they look not just at off roading. Really Subarus are the best of both worlds, they provide great safety and reliability with any daily commute or just traveling wherever, and they also provide wonderful off-road excursions for those weekends with the family. I don’t know about the VW or Toyota I’m sure they’re pretty decent but everyone likes what they purchase and feel that their brand is the best. I currently own a 2017 Impreza with the 2.0 and it is woefully under-powered for the vehicle, and the Forester's 2.5 has has the same problem. I understand that it's hard to squeeze decent fuel economy AND decent performance AND all wheel drive out of a single vehicle, but I think most buyers would happily sacrifice a couple MPGs for more class competitive performance. That said, most people buy a Subaru for the AWD, not for speed, so it is what it is.

      You gotta wind these n/a Subaru motors out till they shake loose! The powerband is 4,000-5,500 rpms where most civilized drivers avoid. The Subaru turbo motors do it all, just not at this price point.

And there are only 2 or 3 vehicles available in a 300 mile radius! I do have a Toyota dealer right here in my home town, and they have 3 versions of RAV4 in stock. I like Toyota well enough, but ...

    seriously contemplating the forestor wilderness, i feel like what would literally make this amazing is taking the power plant from the Crosstek PHEV and putting it in the forestor. my guess is roughly 32 MPG 12- ish miles EV if shoehorned in the forestor but no storage penalty from the battery as the Forestor is a bigger vehicle to space the battery. Plus true AWD and the ability to run AC on battery or a high wattage inverter similar the rav4 hybrids 1.5k AC plug

    I especially like the increased towing capacity for this version. However I don't do any real offroading in my '18 Forester besides rough dirt roads, and to me it looks a bit gaudy. But even if I really wanted this, any Foresters are difficult to find these days (at least in Wisconsin) and I doubt there'd be much in the way of discounts for them if any were available. Btw, my '18 with 170 hp has a 0-60 time of 8.7 seconds while the newer ones with more hp are slower, about 9.2 sec (reviewer said 9.6). Also, concerning the CVT, it's loud starting out but is ok. I admit I would prefer the old 4-speed automatic as I had in my 2010 Forester.
