This game is like a warm fuzzy blanket from my childhood that moths can't ever eat. This run is ultra impressive... but i do feel that you violated my blanket in some inexplicable way.
its so trippy seeing the faults in your favorite childhood games 15+ years later. man all those wall breaks and glitches wouldve had me so shocked as a kid
Elora: "You need to collect all the talismans to even get close to stopping Ripto." Spyro: "Look, you just need him out of the way, right?" Elora: "Well, yes but-" Spyro: "Give me eight minutes." Way to effectively turn Spyro 2 into a boss rush!
Me: I wonder, what is the most efficient way to get enough gems for Moneybags so I can get through the game quickly? This guy: lol who tf is Moneybags?
GladJonas called my bluff, and now I’ve gotta run this game. That was the cleanest Ripto I have seen in my life. I will be using this as a template to make even one halfway-decent time just for fun and to test my skill. I loved this game as a kid, and any advice anyone can offer me on how to break it this hard is greatly appreciated.
thanks man, i’m super happy with this time. If you’re really interested you can join the discord discordapp.com/invite/GDYcVjg everyone there is super willing to answer any questions you may have.
spora777 It is a crazy-ass time. I’m not shooting for a sub-6, either. I’m just trying to get a half-decent run to see if I can. I’m definitely joining this Discord, and I’m absolutely psyched I got a response.
Watching Spyro 2 speedruns which is just basically breaking the game, weirdly makes me appreciate the absolute marvel that this game is. It's insane to me how the original PlayStation could handle a game of this magnitude. One of the all time greats. Other games that boggle my mind in the same way are Crash and Ape Escape. Truly landmark games in the history of gaming engineering. How these thoughts appeared in my mind was because when watching this amazing speedrun, while in amazement about the frantic skipping, was in fact the realization of how much was skipped. Literally the whole game. And the whole game is really big compared to an any% run.
@@carinadominguez22 Yeah, more so in Japan than the west I think, but it was semi popular here too. I think Ape Escape 1 for the PS1 was one of the first titles that was built solely around the DualShock controls.
I always liked the first Spyro more than Riptos Rage. I remember as a younger kid I played Riptos Rage just a few times and didn't like it. I replayed Spyro one so many times though. Still have my memory card with "Spyro" poorly wrote on it somewhere.
In Dragon Shores, if you already have 100%, you can get a power up that turns on permanent super flame. This guy glitched his way into the Dragon Shores room for that reason.
spora777 Ahhhhh, I see. That was my assumption, but the loading times were so fast, I just assumed that it could have been on PC lol Congratulations on the AMAZING run!
The idea is to gain enough height on that wall through the use of a technique we call sproderman, which is basically an alternation between charge and glide while keeping specific angles on a wall. There aren’t very many good guides for it right now but here’s the best we have ruclips.net/video/bOgtLmIAMvc/видео.html

@@alessiomaffezzoli9143 Thanks. For the record, none of the major glitches throughout the run were actually found by me. Skip into Gulp was discovered by Touval, and this particular method used to enter ripto was found in collaboration by Drashed and Newan (I think).
throwing at the start of ripto to bait moxy lmfao

M: "I most certainly do not!"
For once, he's telling the truth!
“Now you can finally go to Dragon Shores!”
yes, have never been before, of course not, not me
Me: I wonder, what is the most efficient way to get enough gems for Moneybags so I can get through the game quickly?

"And be in dragon Shores by lunchtime!"
No one:
Ripto: Ough, Ough, Ough, Ough, Ough....
Lol/╲/\╭(•‿•)╮/\╱\
You know the speedrun is utterly broken when almost half the video is the ending cutscene and credits lol
Spyro Enter The Dragonfly is even funnier. World Record is like 1:30
I wish Crush was in the first game so it’d say Confronting Crush
Elora: Ripto may be gone but he caused a lot of damage during his short stay.
Spyro: excuse me?

You are a legend dude

Speedrun to Glimmer.
Amazing job!
A whole decade of speedrunning is DEAD. Any% is DEAD. Congrats, incredible run TriHard
Some people just enjoy playing games.
so after all these years, you really could be back in Dragon Shores by lunchtime
Elora: Get all the-
Spyro: Hold my beer
What is that boss fight lmao
That took me hours and you just held left trigger for the first 2 sequences

Congrats! :O
Minds blowing
What the f*ck that was insane
Whoa that run was awesome 👍
If I may ask, why did the music cut out in Dragon Shores? Also, I still can’t get enough of your Spyro content haha!
Thanks. Disc is scratched and wont play the track

I’ve been gone for 8 minutes, I’m pretty sure they all think I’m on the can.
The Thumbnail says it all
Holy crap this game is so much more broken than I thought-
I love that angry face to spyro and no.. this elora is not sexy
Outro of the game lasted longer than your game play lol... thts crazy
I heard this game was broken, but holy shit lol
9:04 moneybags wasn't lying

Nice ^^
Funny that the final boss was the Easiest one 😂
OMG!
8:17, not 7:54...
Was this played on PSTV?
Nope, this was played on PS2 with fast disc speed enabled
Your telling me it took me 2+ hours to beat the game normally and you did it in under 8? This games as broken as Mario 64
hey bro i can't finish this level can you help?
bro: sure give me 8 mins
bro:
How do you even find ways to do this lol
I don't understand why you say the any% achievement is made at 7:54 when you effectively defeat Ripto at 8:16
timing begins when the first in-game movement is possible, not when the video starts.

no music 6:28, is that a glitch or?
really scratched up disc

spora777
can relate - gateway is the most played Spyro game in my family and it’s basically unusable now because we let it get all scratched :(
Megan samething happened to my ps2 game svr 2006 we played it to much
Damn this is buggy as hell.
can you really count this after cheating on the last boss?
isnt cheating like agents speedrun rules?
only cheat i know is the super one that gets spyro all abilities instead of having to earn them
I need to google that… I…still play this game…on my PS2…
I mean i dont have any nostalgia for the original-original games. but is it just me or is Elora really creepy here
You’re just a scared little bitch is all.
