I would like to ask if I could use your example of the swing air glitch from the Dino mine level, in a video I’m making. I would go and get the clip myself but I let my cousin borrow all of my PlayStation games a few years ago and we don’t now want happened to them. I could download an emulator but for a 10 second clip thats going in a Palworld glitch video it’s probably not worth the time to work the whole game. Of course I would give you credit for at the end of the video. If that is alright with you.

My first Spyro game was Spyro 2 Riptos rage. I was given a PS1 when I was a kid since I had some sort of blood disease, so I had to sit still alot. So I remember me and my sisters had a blast with it. When the third one came out we just all agreed that it was the most fun one, in our opinion atleast. When the remaster came out, me and one of my sisters did a "lan" party so to speak and played trough the second and third game.

Spyro 2 was so good, there are still some lines from the characters that live in my head, rent free all these years later.
I remember we rented spyro 1 but number 2 was the first one we owned.

Same with not realising that Year of the Dragon was only the third game, it was the only Spyro game I had for PS1. Which led to some confusion with the story prior to the game.
Kid-me had no context for why a cheetah was just hanging around a bunch of dragons like he belonged there, so I think I decided that Hunter was just adopted by the dragons. The only other confusion I got was Elora, since without the context of RR she just shows up out of nowhere for a brief moment at the end to flirt with Spyro (the Professor was easy to write off as one of the personalised NPC's the other playable characters got).

    • @Techhunter_Talon
      @Techhunter_Talon 10 месяцев назад +7

Hunter is weird. As time went on and more and more characters were introduced it became increasingly weird that he's one of the few 'animal people' in the series who doesn't wear cloths. Sorta makes it seem like he's a nudist in that universe and this remains true in the remakes of the PS1 trilogy.

I thought I was the only one who played the trilogy in reverse order! Spyro 1 always felt very weird to play for me after getting used to the last two games; especially the dash which feels way weaker and looser in 1.

For me as a kid it was 2, then 3, then 1. I don't think I 100%'d any of them as a kid, but I finally got around to doing it for the whole trilogy when Reignited came out on PS4, and then did it again for the Steam version.

Some of my best memories growing up are trying to play the games with my grandma helping me hold the controller, and I credit the series for making me want to be a game developer. This was my first ever Spyro game as well. I played it a very young age, never touched or heard of any Spyro game afterwards. Then the Triology came and I heard about it and omg it's so nostalgic I love this game so much.
Funny side story: When playing Spyro Year of the Dragon I once raged and pressed all sort of buttons at random. Somehow I managed to open the settings menu and change the language to English. I was at an age where school didn't even start to teach us English yet. I was so frustrated, because I couldn't understand anything of the game anymore and I swore to continue the game after learning the essential English basics in school. Turns out before that could happen my family sold my console and games.

I only had the first 2 games, I don't think I would've KNOWN about Spyro 3 if I hadn't found Jacksepticeye's series on it, but even than when I played Enter The Dragonfly I didn't question "Bianca, where'd she come from, and why is Hunter so afraid of that balloon, what's so scary about it?"
Anyway, I have another challenge for you to do, sadly, this challenge is only possible in Ripto's Rage as far as I can tell, playing all the levels in reverse order, bosses and speedways don't count, technically, no, because they always throw you into Glimmer at the beginning, so I say that Glimmer doesn't count, or you rush through it not completing anything, so rules.
1: Glimmer either doesn't count, or it only counts if you complete the level 100%
2: You have to do Crush early and Gulp early to gain access to all the homeworlds before any levels are completed
3: Whatever is the official order that the Atlas lists the levels, you read from bottom to top when the game means top to bottom reading (example, the games intends for you to do Aquaria Towers last in Summer Forest, no we doing that f**king first in terms of Summer Forest, what do you mean you want us to do Skeols Badlands first in terms of Autem Plains, we do what we want, LAST LEVEL OF THE HOMEWORLD)
4: You could either do casual, or 100%, whatever you want, I'd do casual
5: Most recommended you activate the have all power ups cheat (btw, it's ⭕ ⭕ ⭕ ⭕ ⬛), but if you want an authentic experience, than you better hope you have enough gems to buy headbash because Metropolis literally requires you to have it to progress, normally, this isn't that bad, but here, it's a death wish because in challenge context it's the first level
6: My brother came up with this one, if a level is suck behind a pay gate and you can't afford it, your allowed to skip it, go to the next level, and come back once you have enough gems (but like that's ever gonna happen, you can use swimming in the air to get to Metropolis, and by the time you get to the pay gates for Shady Oasis and Zephyr, you can definitely afford them (and the pay gate for Aquaria Towers, you don't have to pay that either))

My my, so many cool strats in this run!! Love your dedication.
If you're looking for something to watch while editing or something, DrRank is running these games with no charging. Maybe not so many glitches and strats required, but a good watch!

This was the first & remains the only spyro game I played. I went back to play the disc on my ps3 & fully complete it, because on ps2 my sister & I couldn’t save the game, so if we ever had to turn it off we lost all progress. We did get to the final like hub area & beat some levels. Going back to play it like 7 or 8 years later was super cool. I could actually understand the dialogue lol

@NGPlus great video! however you dont need to perform a zombie glitch in seashell shores to reach sheilas level, you can simply go on the side wall and face spyros back towards the ledge you want to get on top of, as you jump turn him towards the ledge and the twist of his animation should give him slightly more height than a normal jump

I would contest that because Sparx is always flying in his levels, they fall into the unplayable category similar to Sgt. Byrd.
Either way, amazing video and I've really enjoyed watching all 3 parts of this challenge.

@@teaz3139 In the video they actually did rule out both, using it as the reason why Sgt. Byrd and Flight levels are both banned, but I was mostly jesting anyway.

Agree great video, but the rules seem arbitrary in places. Not allowing Spyro to fly but allowing Sgt byrd to seems hypocritical. His reasoning “the levels were designed with his flying” as a reason to allow Sgt Byrd falls a bit flat when you consider the entire game of spyro 3 was designed with gliding in mind. Not to mention he later uses sgt byrd to beat a normal level in enchanted towers? So it’s fine if sgt byrd flies in this level specifically but not spyro ?
No mention of Sparx flying either.
I’m not really complaining much because it’s an entertaining video but still.

It's funny that you think Spyro 3 is the easiest in the trilogy, because I think it's way harder than Spyro 1. Then again, I haven't played the third game to completion even once but I've played the first one through at least ten times, so I think experience is coloring my view here.
That dragon-fight side area in Fireworks Factory, for instance... Good lord, it's the worst. I bashed my face against that for over half an hour on the remake before giving up. It's so wretched. Yet you were able to do it grounded... The monumental patience you must have to do these challenges is impressive.

o m g... i literally had that bug at 2:35 or glitch when i was playing the game as a kid... i remember as if it was yesterday, i was so stoked about it and so sad that i lost it by going into a lvl... oh man this was a real nostalgia hit.

Great video, though I personally would have banned flying as Sargent Byrd for consistency's sake, as he needs his wings, making his levels mostly incompletable. I could also see a ban on Sparx levels, as he is flying with wings throughout. I do still agree that the sorcerer's flying saucer's should be allowed, as they don't use Spyro's wings.

Been waiting for you to do Year Of The Dragon, as that was also the first one I played!
When RUclips recommended me your first Spyro video a while ago I read the title and thought "Pft, no of course you can't, that is the whole point of the game". But I clicked anyway, and boy was I wrong haha.

My first Spyro was the one with Cynder. That black pink dragon. I dont remember its name, but i remember that i hated the controlls. It was so hard to do the challenges from each dragon, to get the new powers, because the controlls where just keep failing and not registering.

I had nearly the same experience as a kid! I played the first Spyro game first, but the next one I got was Year of the Dragon. I didn't play Ripto's Rage until I was like 10 and buying a game with some birthday money - combine that with the fact that I heard around the bend that there was a "new spyro game" (aka year of the dragonfly, which regretfully I did eventually spend money on too) I assumed that Ripto's Rage was it, and was very surprised and confused to find Spyro forgot all of his cool abilities like swimming lol

I am genuinely curious to see these video dip into other PSone classics too, like beating Crash 1-3 without breaking ANY boxes or Abe's Oddysee without talking to a single Mudokon.
It'd be interesting to see like-minded challenges in those... granted, that second one is a bad idea, as you need to at least save the first Mudokon of RuptureFarms 2 to get back in and the bird portal is in a different screen, but POINT STANDS! I'm loving these, can't wait to see more.
