Great video but how do you reduce the liquid if you simmer with the lid on? Also, the honey tip is great for those who don’t know heating it kills the beneficial bacteria. If canning it though you may as well add it in while it’s hot because you’re going to cook it anyway. I loved your presentation and was simple

I place the lid cocked off the edge- to allow steam to release- as it simmers.

This video is great, I am just about to make my own for the first time. I have one question to make sure I’m clear. After adding the lemon juice into the mixture as a preservative, you then put the jar into boiling water to preserve it. Where do you keep the jar after you’ve done that? In the fridge or on the counter? Just wanna make sure I don’t spoil it!

We refrigerate it, but you could can it using safe canning methods for elderberry.

Do you have to can it or I can just skip that step of adding the lemon and just put it in my fridge after I add the honey?

You sure could give that a try. I like to freeze mine.

If this recipe makes only 1 pint can it be placed in refrigerator for immediate use?? Then to do another 1 pint patch for self storage I need to water bath it for 25 mins. Place in dark cool spot. Is this correct? Honey is very expensive in my area I sure don’t want to mess it up. By the way this is a great video!! Ty!!!

When I make mine, it’s a fushia color. It’s not as dark as yours. Could it be the type of elderberry?
