  • Frito-Lay workers reveal that they’ve worked as much as 5 months straight without a day off, and that multiple coworkers, driven to exhaustion, have died by suicide. Their strike in Topeka, Kansas, is starting to gain nationwide attention, and now other Frito-Lay workers in other states are speaking out.

@Pink White Intuition it isn't this bad all over, but there is alot of b.s. going on in most large corporation type businesses.
My last place of employment was messed up in a different way.
They gave us a raise than promptly cut our hour's to where if we were going to get 40 hours, we would have to work 6 day's instead of 5.
We wound up making less than we were before the $1.50 raise.
First that cut our hour's by 15 minutes a day.
Than without notice they cut another 15 minutes and I went to work and as soon as I got my check, I quit right then and there.
They asked me why and I told them. They tried to talk me out of it, and I said no.

They have been useless since 1981 when Reagan took office and got rid of the safeguards that had been put in 2:24 and cut funding for regulatory agencies. That’s when wages for workers drastically became stagnant 17.1% to CEOs pay that increased 1400%.
Antitrust regulations were gutted and the regulatory agencies like OSHA are toothless. So there is something wrong? A lot decide it’s cheaper to pay a fine every so often than it is to actually fix the problem. A man on his first week as an employee of Caterpillar, fell into a vat of melted iron ore and was immediately incinerated.
“Investigators with OSHA found that the foundry regularly exposed employees to unprotected fall hazards as they worked close to deep containers of molten iron.” And before that another employee died after falling 20ft into a collapsed floor. And another recently died from falling into an industrial shredder.
They fined them $150,000 and that was that. The company offered “thoughts and prayers “ blah blah blah. Funny though that not a penny of the fine will go to the man’s family. a billion dollar company)

I just saw another story about a sick worker. I feel so bad for people struggling to feel better but have to work due to their families. I am so glad that. I no longer have to work for folk. They don't care.

Been doing it 33 years. Let's discuss. Lol
It's not easy. Self-employed means you get no workman's comp or anything else. And your day goes on maybe just as long. Or more.

They do this to the Rsr's/Rsa's too and it's just getting worse. The gentleman at 35 seconds said it perfectly about consistent long shifts and drive time. On top of that no real time to take proper care of yourself or see your family. Although we don't have it as bad as the factory workers, it's rough. You come home exhausted, with little desire to do much of anything, realizing you have to do it all over again the next day. 10 to 14 hr days and they want to keep adding stores to routes. They know what that means but don't care. Just get it done or we'll find someone else. We are on the road exhausted like this in often unsafe vehicles. If you bring up safety issues you are mocked and met with aggression. Just do it or we'll find someone who will. This company will never learn. Nothing shakes them.
