I’ve watched several influencers who have taken the dollar store makeup challenge but none of them addressed the safety issues like you have. I’ve stayed away from dollar store makeup for just that reason! However, the products you liked are ones I’ll try. Thanks for a great video, Gabi ❤
LA Colors is the sister brand to LA GIrl carried at Ulta. Dollar General has a large selection of the "better" quality LA Colors merch. They have a 4.00 tubing mascara I want to try!
I've stayed away from LA Colors since I got pink eye after using one of their eye shadow palettes. I have a history of allergic reactions anyway, so I'm ok with keeping their products away from my eyes.
LA Girl is actually so great! Back in the day when ombre brows were big, they had the BEST brow gel color on the market. I loved that product. @@rebelgirl9436
I've used cheap dollar store easter eggs for beauty blender cases. I buy the ones that are hinged. Believe it or not you can use a hole punch to punch a few holes in them. Works great. Also I use an egg cup/holder, the kind that you would use for soft boiled eggs as a stand for my beauty blender.
I literally have every single product you labeled as "great deal" or just OK! I've been on the Dollar Tree makeup bandwagon for years😂 and nothing has ever hurt my skin, burnt my skin or had any allergic reactions, thankfully!! Im getting a little older and I noticed products that used to work for me aren't as effective so I need to get creative with my makeup routine! But they seriously have some great products for a steal!
I am 43, and I've switched away from anything powder based except for my Naked III pallete. I can't live without it. 😂 But creams and gels work so much better on aged skin. I thought about trying Seint because creamy makeup is their whole thing. I'm just not ready to pay $16 for each tin of things I need to replace yet. I love Maybelline Cheek Heat gel blush. It's a must try for aging skin and only around $6.00. Cover Girl BB cream for light coverage does well for a base and its SPF 21. Also, dermaplaning helps a lot with my aging skin. Got to keep those little white hairs and dead skin cells knocked off. 😊

Why would anyone pay over $100 for skincare moisturizer when the ingredients are the same in the same order as a cheaper version? Beginning with H2O? Thanks for checking. More exciting buying a face for $15 than $1500.
Aw I love that you and Dr.dray help us find makeup and skincare at the dollar tree and guide us to find those products that are good and those that are not. There are those of us who really enjoy those two things but are extremely tight on a budget. It really helps ❤
Yes, do a Dollar Tree hair haul, too! This was a fun video to watch, because Dollar Tree makeup is certainly tempting at $1.25. I've bought L.A. Color creamy eyeshadow sticks at Dollar Tree and use them all the time.
Some of the products are great, right? I was pretty shocked. I never go to dollar tree so when I walked in there and saw all of the makeup, I was SHOCKED.
I also love the Ioni blushes and the LA Colors contour stick. I just can't justify spending tons of money on blush when I know I can find something equally amazing. for $1.25. They are small but blush color trends change often so I don't need a ton of product. The Ioni lashes are the only ones I'll buy as well.
Your makeup in this video looks EXCELLENT for Dollar Tree makeup. And even though it’s affordable…….. I don’t need another addiction because it’s cheap. 😅 I’ve already bought way too many press ons from there because they are so pretty! 🥰
I have had great success with Dollar Tree make up, it’s all I buy now. So many people warned me about using cheap makeup, but ya know what, it has never broke me out like the expensive makeups. So, once again, Dollar Tree all the way!

The Ioni lashes are amazing!! I love their natural style ones, they aren’t too thick or full. I used them on clients and nobody ever says a thing about it.
I’ve been super impressed with the Kozmic Colors things I have tried. I consider their little blush, and the Ioni box blushes quite good. They are nicely milled and pigmented, and the little Spell Book blushes are adorable
Hi Gabi! You can TOTALLY put holes in your pineapple! Just use a large bore needle and heat it up with a lighter, then poke as many holes as you want, heating up between pokes! Thanks as always for your great content!

Well I just learned that I've been using my blender sponge all wrong. I love a foundation brush as well. Highly recommend that everyone swatch the product on your arm first for a few hours to make sure you do not react. My concern over Dollar Store makeup is the issues with contaminants being used in production to create a cheaper product.. However luxury brands have had the same issues. When I was a counter manager for Chanel in the late 90's they were one of the many companies found to have lead in their lipstick! Remember the FDA known as the Food Drug Administration has zero oversight on women's cosmetics! That's why they're allowed to poison us legally and get away with it. That being said I'm excited to try some of these products after I test them on my skin first.😉❤️ Great content. Thank you for setting me straight on the wet beauty blender that makes a lot more sense.
I remember years ago our aesthetic instructor challenged our class to go next door to dollar tree and find skin care and makeup products. We also had a dollar general in the same plaza. So we got to explore both. I’ve since used so many staples tools and products in my spa suite that work wonderfully.
I have been bummed in the past when many of your videos compare high-end products that are outside of most normal folks' affordability these days. Thank you for exploring more affordable option. You did not disappoint. I went and bought a few of these LA beauty products and you are so right, love them.

Alot of people have become snobs and make you feel bad for buying cheaper/ more affordable makeup. I wish there were dollar stores when I started to wear makeup. I started using wet n wild because that was all I could afford. Guess what? It was decent makeup, and I got alit of compliments ❤
Wow!! I never thought much of DT makeup so have never ventured into that aisle. TBH, I pretty much stop in for the gift bags when needed. The review you gave was so detailed though! Will def take your recommendations and pick a few up now that I feel more comfortable with trying out. You really hit on the right stuff, Gabi! I love their beauty blenders and even found a small real jade roller there a couple years ago. I oddly like their hyaluronic serum. There's no other additives and I just drop it into my moisturizer. I tried the vitamin C and even though it's in a dark bottle, I didn't feel like it had shelf stability. I'm with you on some of the LA colors eye shadows. I really like them when I want an unusual color for an event. I'm going to have to re-watch this for the contouring products you liked. I like how you can describe the products but I love how you can explain how to use some products and for what purpose these products are. There are so many make up articles and products, of any brand, that you can buy but don’t know how to use them or how much … OMG the blemish sponge… 😂 or the little box to clean your brushes… So, very, very good video.

Thank you! I am now on the hunt for the shadow changer sponge! I already figured out that some of the Dollar Tree makeup was pretty awesome. I found a nice pressed powder and blusher there by B Pure. I actually love them both. The powder contains hyaluronic acid and doesn't cake up. DT is great for brushes, too.
I love these types of videos. This one was fun to watch. I’ve had good luck with LA Colors eyeshadow and blush from Dollar Tree. I recently bought one of the eyeshadow trios in the shade Tumbleweed and it’s really pretty.

Elf offers products in a tiered price range. Inexpensive, midrange, and pro. Just the sheer volume they sell gives them leverage. I think their inexpensive items are of great quality overall and lead to customers transitioning to the higher end products over time. I'm not sure if you're familiar with their putty primer, but it stays sold out also their camo concealer.

So one of the absolute best mascaras I have found is wet and wild that they sell at the dollar tree in a teal/ green tube. It is almost exactly like the Maybelline mascara in the pink and green tube. And performs just the same.

Ive been using elf flawless satin foundation, im olive skin so it was and is always hard finding my shade. let me tell you, it fits my skin tone perfectly, i wear Vanilla. Something id never think would match me. The packaging says medium covering, but its FULL coverage. Unfortunately due to it being pulled out from walmart, i was searching for other companies foundation and never found luck or wasnt happy with its coverage. Was even thinking of going high end. But i LOVE THIS FOUNDATION, been using 1 bottle for 2 to 3 years now because a little goes a long way and i finally bought it again through amazon because im loyal to it. I wear it to work and it doesnt break, it makes my skin look flawless with little effort and $8.50 for something that feels high end feels like i have a steal. I think itll be truly a break in habit if i by some miracle found a foundation that meets all my needs and list of things in all under an affordable price. So IM STICKING TO THIS ONE.

I'm in my 50s. I use the BB cream, tinted moisturizer, and buy light and medium to get my exact skin tone. The tinted moisturizer helps to decrease the look of fine lines and crows feet.. It seems to sit on top of the skin instead of sinking into the lines. I get tons of compliments on my make up and people wanting to know where I get it. I'm glad I bought a lot because haven't seen it in any of the dollar stores lately.
A beauty blender is perfect for multiplying bacteria. After makeup application, wash it with soap and some diluted bleach, otherwise you'll be spreading bacteria and mold over your skin.
If you take a dremel tool drill and a very fine bit, you can drill micro holes in the holder if done slowly under water to help prevent cracking from drill heat.
The ioni brand at the dollar tree is amazing I've bought more hits than misses at the dollar tree I'm on a tight budget when it comes to makeup I really like their bb cream by sassy n chic for brows at the dollar tree I try to use the ioni brand I stocked up on their eyebrow products my favorite products i couldn't go without are eyeshadow brow products and lip gloss

LA colors and probably everything else at Dollar tree comes from a manufacturing facility I believe in missouri. I used to have that link. They manufacture stuff, generally less quality stuff for just about everybody in the USA. If you or anybody wants I can see if I can find links to any wholesale places I remember. I'm an esthetician, currently retired. I used to have my own herbal skin care business.

Great review. I am very sensitive to the smell of the products so I was over-the-moon when you specifically mentioned the terrible stink of some of these products. And I know exactly what you meant when you described it as a cheap perfume scent, like generic bathroom spray or cheap cheap bath soap scent. My neighbor uses cheap bath soap and during the summer months when my windows are open and her windows are open that nasty smell comes wafting into my apartment from her apartment. Yuk. Also, its clear that she does not shower every day or even every other day. Her bathing regime is few and far between.
YES do video on hair items! I'm almost 77 and use Dollar Tree Products. Some I like and some not so much. Would enjoy video on long lasting lipsticks, especially ones that don't dry out my lips. Would also like video on moisurizers for face and body creamsS Thanks. Holly
Great timing! I was just going out to get some new makeup, AND I was going to Dollar Tree, NEVER had I bought makeup at the discount stores, but I visited a different store near by and they had so many brands there, I got so excited. Thank you Gabi now I know what to get!!!
Wow, this is inspirational. I never look at the makeup at Dollar Tree, but seeing some of these products, I just might start! Especially the lashes and the bronzers.
my dollar tree usually only has the darker shades and i can never find the light/medium. My area is pretty diverse in terms of complexion, so i don't think a demand issue explains the disparity in availability. But it is what it is. When they have my color, i pick it up. I don't use it up very fast, so i can just wait until my shade is in stock.

I'm also a professional make-up artist, and I really like the Bpure bronzers and blushes, also the L.A. COLORS plumping glosses are really nice👍👍💕

For the blender case U can take a soldering tool n poke a few holes or improvise and use a fork, and heat it up, n poke a few holes on the bottom.👍🏽💜

Believe Beauty is big at Dollar General. Their foundation is awesome. You don't even feel it on your skin.

It's an interesting lesson to learn. What's worth the spend and which products you don't need the cost or brand name to get a good quality.

Alot of people have become snobs and make you feel bad for buying cheaper/ more affordable makeup. I wish there were dollar stores when I started to wear makeup. I started using wet n wild because that was all I could afford. Guess what? It was decent makeup, and I got alit of compliments ❤
Wow!! I never thought much of DT makeup so have never ventured into that aisle. TBH, I pretty much stop in for the gift bags when needed. The review you gave was so detailed though! Will def take your recommendations and pick a few up now that I feel more comfortable with trying out. You really hit on the right stuff, Gabi! I love their beauty blenders and even found a small real jade roller there a couple years ago. I oddly like their hyaluronic serum. There's no other additives and I just drop it into my moisturizer. I tried the vitamin C and even though it's in a dark bottle, I didn't feel like it had shelf stability. I'm with you on some of the LA colors eye shadows. I really like them when I want an unusual color for an event. I'm going to have to re-watch this for the contouring products you liked. I like how you can describe the products but I love how you can explain how to use some products and for what purpose these products are. There are so many make up articles and products, of any brand, that you can buy but don’t know how to use them or how much … OMG the blemish sponge… 😂 or the little box to clean your brushes…

Thank you! I am now on the hunt for the shadow changer sponge! I already figured out that some of the Dollar Tree makeup was pretty awesome. I found a nice pressed powder and blusher there by B Pure. I actually love them both. The powder contains hyaluronic acid and doesn't cake up. DT is great for brushes, too.
I love these types of videos. This one was fun to watch. I’ve had good luck with LA Colors eyeshadow and blush from Dollar Tree. I recently bought one of the eyeshadow trios in the shade Tumbleweed and it’s really pretty.

Elf offers products in a tiered price range. Inexpensive, midrange, and pro. Just the sheer volume they sell gives them leverage. I think their inexpensive items are of great quality overall and lead to customers transitioning to the higher end products over time. I'm not sure if you're familiar with their putty primer, but it stays sold out also their camo concealer.

I got the dessert rose eyeshadow i love it. I also love the b.pure concealer. And one of my favorites is the b.pure primer with rose oil.

The Ioni ones are actually really nice. The best product by far was the contour stick. I LOVE that contour stick. It's beautiful.
So one of the absolute best mascaras I have found is wet and wild that they sell at the dollar tree in a teal/ green tube. It is almost exactly like the Maybelline mascara in the pink and green tube. And performs just the same.

I have found Revlon lipsticks and nail polish and Rimmel gel blush at DT, but they don’t last very long so grab them if you see them.

Ive been using elf flawless satin foundation, im olive skin so it was and is always hard finding my shade. let me tell you, it fits my skin tone perfectly, i wear Vanilla. Something id never think would match me. The packaging says medium covering, but its FULL coverage. Unfortunately due to it being pulled out from walmart, i was searching for other companies foundation and never found luck or wasnt happy with its coverage. Was even thinking of going high end. But i LOVE THIS FOUNDATION, been using 1 bottle for 2 to 3 years now because a little goes a long way and i finally bought it again through amazon because im loyal to it. I wear it to work and it doesnt break, it makes my skin look flawless with little effort and $8.50 for something that feels high end feels like i have a steal. I think itll be truly a break in habit if i by some miracle found a foundation that meets all my needs and list of things in all under an affordable price. So IM STICKING TO THIS ONE.

I'm in my 50s. I use the BB cream, tinted moisturizer, and buy light and medium to get my exact skin tone. The tinted moisturizer helps to decrease the look of fine lines and crows feet.. It seems to sit on top of the skin instead of sinking into the lines. I get tons of compliments on my make up and people wanting to know where I get it. I'm glad I bought a lot because haven't seen it in any of the dollar stores lately.

A beauty blender is perfect for multiplying bacteria. After makeup application, wash it with soap and some diluted bleach, otherwise you'll be spreading bacteria and mold over your skin.
If you take a dremel tool drill and a very fine bit, you can drill micro holes in the holder if done slowly under water to help prevent cracking from drill heat.
The ioni brand at the dollar tree is amazing I've bought more hits than misses at the dollar tree I'm on a tight budget when it comes to makeup I really like their bb cream by sassy n chic for brows at the dollar tree I try to use the ioni brand I stocked up on their eyebrow products my favorite products i couldn't go without are eyeshadow brow products and lip gloss

LA colors and probably everything else at Dollar tree comes from a manufacturing facility I believe in missouri. I used to have that link. They manufacture stuff, generally less quality stuff for just about everybody in the USA. If you or anybody wants I can see if I can find links to any wholesale places I remember. I'm an esthetician, currently retired. I used to have my own herbal skin care business.

Great review. I am very sensitive to the smell of the products so I was over-the-moon when you specifically mentioned the terrible stink of some of these products. And I know exactly what you meant when you described it as a cheap perfume scent, like generic bathroom spray or cheap cheap bath soap scent. My neighbor uses cheap bath soap and during the summer months when my windows are open and her windows are open that nasty smell comes wafting into my apartment from her apartment. Yuk. Also, its clear that she does not shower every day or even every other day. Her bathing regime is few and far between.

my dollar tree usually only has the darker shades and i can never find the light/medium.
My area is pretty diverse in terms of complexion, so i don't think a demand issue explains the disparity in availability.
But it is what it is. When they have my color, i pick it up. I don't use it up very fast, so i can just wait until my shade is in stock.
