I think the deleted scene is much better than the scene that ended up, because in a remote scene Zeus doesn't look like a clown, he seems to be a very strong and wise character.
Deleted scenes are always so much better than the parts left in. The problem is the deleted scenes always contain storyline, character info etc & that's why it tends to get cut. Not, because it's not good or the Director doesn't want to use it. It's because they're told by the studios "this movie can only be 90 mins" & your movie is 120 mins, so they are forced to cut out this stuff in favor of the action and/or nudity scenes. If you want to see a perfect example of the Directors movie & studio inference just watch Justic League & then watch Zach Snyder's Justice League it's almost like a totally different movie, with Zach's being WAY better. Same thing happened with the Alien vs Predator movies, the movie that ended up getting released is not the movie the Director intended at all.
Thor is no stronger than his father. After all, Odin was able to defeat Surtur, who could destroy Asgrad and kill Hela with one blow. And Surtur was weakened to Ragnarok.
But it would have made zeus less of a dickwad that likes masive orgies and turn him into somebody that can be just as respected maybe even admired just as much as odin so that the movie didnt feel more like a practical joke all the way to the end
