Had one heartbreaking moment happen towards the end of night 3. I was sitting at one of the fire totems that were btwn Wasteland and Kinetic and this guy just comes over and sits on the ground next to a garbage can crying. A girl nearby goes to check on him and discovers he is deaf and we think his phone is dead (if he had one). We look around for some help and I notice some Ground Control members nearby who were checking on someone on the ground. I point them out to the girl and she is able to bring one of them over. The only thing they GC member could think of to communicate was to open the email app on his tablet so they could. I have no clue what they said to each other, but eventually the guy got up and kinda signaled/ tried to voice that he had to go, but was thankful for everyone's help. Don't know where he was headed, looking for friends, or what. But felt bad for him. EDC Fireworks have ruined them for any other occasion haha. My first EDC was the 29th anniversary one. Gareth's Kinetic Field set was an absolute blast. Sure it was all big hitters, but he took you on a journey of the last 10 years. Definitely some good memories, and definitely recommend checking that out if you haven't yet. Loud Luxury had their hands full to follow him haha. Still need to check their set out. Kaskade Redux was again the perfect way to end the weekend. He even played 20 minutes over until 5:50a. Don't recall if you were a Dreamstate festival fan or not, but learned today that it will not be at NOS this year. Supposed to have an announcement soon.
Aww, thank you for sharing that story with us. EDC certainly has its moments, I've been there before. Hope the universe took care of him a reunited him with their friends. And yes, no fireworks compare anymore! July 4th fireworks are teeny! I missed that set! We really wanted to go... I watched the replay on RUclips and I was getting goosebumps on my legs! I'm definitely a Dreamstate fan, it's always been hard for me to attend. Last time I bought tickets, we ended up scheduling our wedding that weekend and had to reschedule! Looking forward to the announcement 😄.
