Nice! Stoked for you and your first time ☺️. Check out the 2024 updated version and stay tuned for the 2025 version with all new tips that I've gathered from EDC24.
I’m excited for you! After the festival, be sure to plan on whether or not you will go for a second time, because tickets will go on sale a week after. Including camping passes!
EDC LV veteran (10 years of EDC LV) here with super secret info: 1) There are multiple entrances to the festival. The "main entrance" is where everyone gets funneled and you might see long lines, but if you walk around the speedway there's another entrance with more gates that's usually almost empty. A 10 min walk could be the difference between standing in line for hours and not waiting in a line at all. in my 10 years of EDC LV this is always the case. 2) For my drinkers. Prices for drinks at EDC are absurd. However if you look for them there are these small vendor booths that sell shots in little containers and they are astronomically cheaper. 3) Test your shit. If you are getting it from new sources, test it. Either have your own kits or (even though it might seem sus) there are places at the venue that will test it. Insomniac aren't stupid. They know what you're doing and want you to do it safely. 4) It's all PLUR until the parking lot. Here's what I'll say... Just realize you might be in a fake line that doesn't even lead anywhere. Drive safe. 5) Earplugs. Earplugs. Earplugs. 6) Make a plan for where to meet. Cell towers are overwhelmed at EDC and odds are your ability to call or text will be significantly hindered. Plan around being unable to use your phone for timely communications.
@@RaverKid15 I’ve seen foldable flasks. But also seen someone sneak in a whole bottle 😅. Finally, I seen in another RUclips video, someone use ziploc baggies 😆.

It's worth avoiding all of that wait time if you were to buy merch later, and Day 1 also happened to end up being very windy too.

If you get to the shuttle stops by 5pm, you will usually be on one of the first shuttles to leave at about 6. Nice! Glad you had a good experience that you're going back again! After I went for the first time, I knew I was hooked 😅. 10 years later, the way we enjoy the festival has certainly changed and I still love going.
Really? That’s good news. We ended up not taking the shuttles there Sat/Sun to the festival. This year, there is no opening ceremony Sat/Sun. I wonder how that will impact shuttles on the way to the fest at 7pm. 🧐 We’re thinking about taking rideshare to get into the festival by 7pm instead of 9pm+ by shuttle.
What's up man, thank you for all the great content out there. For a first timer, would you recommend I check out the pool parties on the strip or save energy for the big rave haha. I am planning on staying 70 percent sober
Hey, Abe! If day clubs and day partying is your vibe, you will most definitely enjoy hitting up at least one during the weekend. But if you like your rest and maybe just chilling until EDC, I would definitely do that. Also, I would rather get to the festival sooner, than later because I partied too hard during the day and next thing I know, I’m not at the festival until 10pm 😅.
Yes! Rightfully so. It's such a rush at all steps of the way. Driving there, getting through security, walking from stage to stage. It's all a good time 😀.
I'll be at my first EDC LV in a few weeks. Definitely taking this advice and some from the comments as well. Really dont want to take the 7pm shuttle and not get there till 10... I got pool party shows at 11am each day so ill be bouncing at like 3am in hopes to recover some.
Nice! Yeah, we're opting to rideshare to get to the speedway by 6pm and then take the shuttle back at or after 3am. Each time we made our way to 3am, there were dozens of busses waiting at all the stops. You'll definitely have some recovery time before you hit the pools! Which dayclubs you hitting?
@@ravetourguide Ayu and Tao. Are the shuttles to really that long of a wait? I got the shuttle pass. It sounds like, at least for the first day, to uber up and just shuttle back.
@@RockGuitarist1 nice, both really solid spots. It definitely depends on your stop and the time you go. Especially because the shuttle pickup starts at 7pm versus 6pm in past years. Our experience at the mid strip shuttle could’ve been an outlier.
Gotcha; we did that stop once when we stayed at Tropicana. It’s smaller and less crowded than mid strip. We would shoot for one hour before shuttles started to wait in line with other headliners. It might be hot though, so be prepared and hydrated. From Tropicana to the speedway might be 1.5+ hrs away.
@@ravetourguide praying my dude 🙏. This will be our first time to edcvegas and we’re so ready! I’ve got a few beginner questions maybe you’d be able to help out with: 1. Are shorts a no go for men at Vegas? I hear it’s always so cold so idk if I should bother. 2. Your favorite cheap eats on the strip pre-rave? 3. Best pool to recharge at after the whole event is over? Was thinking maybe a lazy river or Caesar’s palace pool. 4. How to deal with the walk of shame after staying the full night 😂. Sunglasses inside kinda vibe? Lmao.
@@hansolo7594 I love the questions! Happy to help out. 1. Depends on where in Vegas. I think shorts at a nightclub are a no, unless it's a nightswim at Daylight Beach Club at Mandalay Bay. Shorts for EDC at the Speedway, yes! However, I like being cozy, warm and toasty. So I wear pants. 2. Planet Hollywood has the best cheap eats. We're talking super cheap. Check out Norma Geli's "Cheap Eats" videos here on YT. Everyone talks about Planet Hollywood's great value restaurants. 3. Mandalay Bay and MGM have awesome pools. The MGM has a lazy river and Wet Republic (Dayclub) 4. For me, I deal with it by remembering I'm not alone and that there are thousands of us doing this same walk together! We always see other headliners when making our way back to the hotel 😅. And also, after being held in LV for over 10 years now, the residents of LV are very familiar with thousands of us walking around like zombies between 8-10am! Sunglasses and especially a sweater, because it's cold inside the hotels!
Question about the lockers. I notice GA and VIP lockers are mentioned. Is VIP lockers only accessible for VIP and GAs can only access GA lockers vice versa? Or could GA people access VIP lockers too? Attending my first EDC next year I’m hyped! Love your work providing all the useful info.
That's a great question! VIP lockers are only accessible inside the VIP areas; therefore, only headliners with VIP wristbands can access those lockers. The GA lockers are available to all headliners -- GA, GA+, and VIP (if the VIP prefer the GA lockers due to accessibility).
I 100% agree. Despite the mishaps over the years, it still is the best overall. This year, I’ll be documenting our ride share experience each day to get an idea of that type of travel.
Nice! So stoked for you and your first time, I’d be happy to help. Do you like partying during the day? Do you want to be in the action on the LV Strip? For locker. Are you going with friends? A partner? Do you plan to bring extra blanket/outerwear?
@@ravetourguide It’s just my husband and I. It’s our first festival and are going in blind. We just want things to run as smooth as possible. From hotels to shuttles, I want to covered lol
SO I am confused lol first year here. do you show up Thursday night? It says on the line up times that it will be Friday in the AM that the artists play? So I am confused does it go Friday Morning AM or does it not start until Friday night PM??
Hey, Kenny! Good question. On these lineups: instagram.com/p/CsPp1JCOWW-/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== The festival starts at 7pm, but on the lineup, the artist playing at 7 is at the bottom, if that makes sense 😅.
Thanks for watching! This year, Armin Van Buuren, Ben Nicky, Marshmello, Kill Script, I Hate Models, and many more. We have a balance of new artists and others we’ve seen many times at EDC. 😁
I was unable to get a shuttle pass, do you think its possible to utilize rideshare apps to get home from the festival considering the lack of cell service?
I feel you there. I do think it’s possible 😁. I hear when you go outside the speedway and towards the ride share area, service gets a little better. Some say it could take 30 minutes to an hour until you get a ride. I recommend leaving early. The later, the more people trying to get rides and I think the less drivers there are.
If it’s pocket size and I think as long as it doesn’t have a detachable lens, you should be good. “NO Professional photo, video, or audio recording equipment (no detachable lenses, tripods, big zooms or commercial-use rigs).” -from the list of prohibited items
Good question! It's this show in their open-air studio where they do a show similar to "Blind Date." When I went once, there was one person hidden, and three other people asking questions getting to to know the person hidden. Was cool to watch live!
Honestly so far this is the best video I've seen about edc this year, quite a few people are being really negative about this year and it's making me nervous, it's my first edc and I'm nervous about the vibes
Thank you 🙏 and I hear you. It totally makes sense that you would be nervous about the vibes. In the past we’ve brought friends for their first and we did our best to find areas that we thought they would feel most comfortable. At stages, that was towards the back, in a place with extra space, but a good view. Or in some cases we would find a way closer to the stage, but with more room! Usually, in the back, it’s not as rowdy or crowded ☺️.
@@ravetourguide okay that makes sense, it's a whole new scene because I am from Utah and if you haven't heard I'll tell you, Utah raves are not the greatest 😅 I went to global dance festival in 2021 and that was amazing! So we'll see how this one goes, thank you for responding! I'll keep an ear out if you're going to be doing a meet up or not 😊
So much information in a simple straight forward video! 2023 is gonna be my first edc and I’m so excited and way less nervous after seeing this video, thank you ! ✌🏼🫶🏼✋🏼☺️
After the continued effort to find the accurate answer, it's looking like the upgrade is a lot higher than I mentioned previously. I haven't received a definite answer from anyone at Frontgate or the EDCLasVegas IG account. However, we believe it might be $500+. Essentially the difference between a face-value VIP ticket and a face-value GA ticket. It's also possible they might sell out of VIP upgrades on Day 1.
Ive finally been able to purchase tickets to both Ultra Miami and EDC 2024, the downside is my friends group is 3 strong and I'm the only one who enjoys this kind of music so I am going by myself. Any advice to find people to hangout with...for clarity im introverted as hell and im going for the experience. Just go talk to someone is not super great advice for me due to my introversion even if it is needed. I figure the longer it takes to find someone the less likely to find a group due to event exhaustion.
Hey there, @statesman2940! So stoked you got tickets to both Ultra Miami and EDC 2024, you're going to have an incredible year! 🌟 And, I totally get that going solo, especially as an introvert, can feel a bit daunting. Here are a few ideas to make those connections without diving straight into full-on conversations: 1. Social Media Groups: Join event-specific groups on platforms like Radiate, Facebook or Reddit. There, you can start conversations online before the event, making it easier to transition to in-person meetups. 2. Solo Raver Flags: Consider creating or getting a flag that signals you're going solo. It's a subtle invitation for others to join without the pressure of initiating a conversation. 3. Interactive Wearables: Wear something eye-catching or interactive, like light-up accessories or festival-related gear. It's an easy conversation starter, and people might approach you first. 4. Attend Meetup Events: Keep an eye out for any pre-event meetups or gatherings. These are often organized by fellow attendees, and it's a relaxed way to connect. I'll definitely be having another meetup at EDC this year and there are others as well including the Beatbox, Lunchbox, House of Plur meetup, and more. 5. Vendor Areas: Hang around vendor areas or chill zones. People often linger there, providing opportunities for more casual interactions. Remember, it's totally okay to take breaks and enjoy the experience at your own pace. You're there for the music and the vibes, and your introversion is just another facet of what makes you awesome. Have a blast, and who knows, you might make some unforgettable connections along the way! 🎉🎶
Hey thanks for the quick response, and your ideas! I really do appreciate it. Your tips have given me a good list of things to try. Ill definitely try some social media groups, and possibly a flag, might be easy to get that sown onto a shirt or something if not a totem of some kind if I'm feeling ambitious. Ill probably bring a few extra packs of gum or something in addition to some wearables. Might meet some new people this way. Do meetup groups only advertise online or are they acting like its an concert or convention like event with someone yelling out for group members or holding signs?? Are there festival organized meetups? Thanks again for your help with this, I'm finally in a place to go on these trips so I appreciate the advice.@@ravetourguide
What are you looking for exactly? Are you looking for a pole for your totem? Or for accessories to use on a totem? I’ve opted for PVC one year and a bamboo stick another. The bamboo was really light weight and cheap. There are also telescoping flag poles you can use.
Technically not allowed at the festival yet. Rumor is in the future, they’re going to sell it at the festival. I usually opt for discreet cartridges. However, I’ve seen all kinds of things being snuck in. I once saw a guy wearing a full body costume sneak in a 3 foot, Fat Tuesday. I was truly in disbelief 😅.
Great video! Our group has not managed to snag a shuttle pass. We have contacted a limo company which offers us the weekend rides for around 550$ each for the 3 days. Is this reasonnable? Or should we plan a Uber pickup instead? I heard that the latter is really hard when getting back from edc.
Thank you! And thank you for watching, Charles. We were contemplating the same topic a month ago. We were leaning towards doing ride share, but leaving by 2am to beat the rush. With the limo company, there is peace mind knowing you have a ride at a specified time. Whereas, with ride share, you don’t know how long until a driver is assigned or when you’ll get picked up.
@@ravetourguide thanks for the quick response! We have decided to get on a bus shareride, hoping the trip will be confirmed! Else we'll have to use driver services off peak Times. Enjoy your EDC!
IMO, yes they are. Less crowded. Although, you can expect lines in between artists at stages. They’re also air conditioned with lighting inside. If we were walking by a vip entrance, mrs tour guide would prefer to go into vip just for the bathrooms. Then she would exit vip and we would go to our next stop.
Hi, Alexis! Wish I had an accurate answer, but I haven’t gotten any responses from Insomniac. I believe it’s actually a big cost. Think of it as paying the difference between a vip and ga ticket; so, maybe +$500.

VIP will definitely get up there! GA is currently sold out, but you can purchase a GA+ ticket for $709 (fees incl.) on the site right now. They might also release additional GA tickets several weeks before the festival date. I would recommend you go with your new gf. It will be a super fun and intimate experience for you both!
here is the ultimate guide. just pretend that you are a worker when you come in, you wont need to scan, make sure to wear all black. black shirt black pants. someone wont care enough to stop you and make sure to go in during prime time after the sun sets.. thats the busiet and people sneak in. dont RUN IN, if you run they will yell RUNNER, and they will tackle you. if you get someont that wont let you in there are 30 other lines. pick a beta looking male who wont say no to you.... im used to be one of the supervisors.
@@ravetourguide dont do cash tips. wont work... just say you work there and walk in. they wont arrest you for trying to sneak in, they will arrest you if you force run yourself through, lol

I hear you, and it makes sense you say that. I think PLUR, like the community itself, is changing and evolving. We'll see where it goes. Insomniac submitted a trademark for PLUR.

Awesome video! It’s my third time going and first time as VIP, so excited!!😎 hoping line up drops soon
Nice! You’re going to love VIP, totally worth it IMO. Stoked the lineup is out, next up, set times!
So nervous but so excited for my first EDCLV AHHHHH
Yes! Rightfully so. It's such a rush at all steps of the way. Driving there, getting through security, walking from stage to stage. It's all a good time 😀.
Thank You so so much for alllll your help. We greatly appreciate it. 🫶💗
Of course! Thanks for watching. Stay tuned in 2025 for all the new videos and guides!
@@ravetourguide I got Tropicana passes and would like to get on at 7pm.
Just what I was looking for! Hoping for that lineup release soon 🤞
Should be this week, possibly Friday🥳🥳
@@ravetourguide praying my dude 🙏. This will be our first time to edcvegas and we’re so ready! I’ve got a few beginner questions maybe you’d be able to help out with:
The MGM has a lazy river and Wet Republic (Dayclub)
@@ravetourguide you the man! Appreciate you helping out with these questions. See you at the Trance/Techno stages 😎🙌.
Hope to see you at EDC! I have special Kandi for yall 😊
Aww that’s so dope! Maybe we will do a meet up😅
@@ravetourguide definitely! Counting down the days until we're all back home 😂😁
@@ravetourguide it might be my first
Damn I do miss those hotter festivals even though it was crazy haha.... nostalgia
Sweaty! Now I bundle up so I can feel that same heat 😉. No one likes a cold roll!
Same here I really miss it too, the heat really bumps the roll harder. 2016, 2017.
The shuttle is the best option
I 100% agree. Despite the mishaps over the years, it still is the best overall. This year, I’ll be documenting our ride share experience each day to get an idea of that type of travel.
2024 is my first EDC/Festival. Not sure where to book my hotel, if to purchase a locker. So many questions.
On these lineups: instagram.com/p/CsPp1JCOWW-/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
The festival starts at 7pm, but on the lineup, the artist playing at 7 is at the bottom, if that makes sense 😅.
@@ravetourguide okay it it starts at 7pm Friday and so if I planing on going Saturday then I should show up Saturday around 5pm? Lol
Thank you for the video. Who are you hyped to see?
Can i take my mirrorless camera to edc?
If it’s pocket size and I think as long as it doesn’t have a detachable lens, you should be good. “NO Professional photo, video, or audio recording equipment (no detachable lenses, tripods, big zooms or commercial-use rigs).” -from the list of prohibited items
👍
Thanks for the thumbs up! Glad you enjoyed the video!
What's the best time to get to the shuttle stops to beat the crowds?
4 - 5 pm is the time we would usually start lining up. Never had to wait long
I agree with Akeno, 4-5pm is a good time to arrive to the shuttle. The later you leave from that window, the busier the shuttles get.
What is “Up to Date” in downtown edc? Thanks :)
Yes! I’m glad that you’re less nervous, that way you can focus on having a good time 😊. Out of curiosity, which of the tips did you find helpful?
Hi how much was it to upgrade vip for Saturday?
And, I totally get that going solo, especially as an introvert, can feel a bit daunting. Here are a few ideas to make those connections without diving straight into full-on conversations:
Does anyone know where to buy a portable totem?
What are you looking for exactly? Are you looking for a pole for your totem? Or for accessories to use on a totem?
I’ve opted for PVC one year and a bamboo stick another. The bamboo was really light weight and cheap. There are also telescoping flag poles you can use.
What is security like at EDC? I'm mainly asking for certain type of "cigarettes". Or do they not care about that since its legal in NV?
Technically not allowed at the festival yet. Rumor is in the future, they’re going to sell it at the festival. I usually opt for discreet cartridges. However, I’ve seen all kinds of things being snuck in. I once saw a guy wearing a full body costume sneak in a 3 foot, Fat Tuesday. I was truly in disbelief 😅.
Where do they announce the art car dj schedule? Also are you doing a meet up?
Usually during edc week they release the art car schedule and the schedule for the smaller stages like Corona Beach or Allegiant Rave Hangar.
And, we just might do a meet up! We’ll keep you posted 😃
@@Chucky42069 oh, nice! Hope to hear how that goes for you 😁. I’ve seen similar services in Lv. Hope you have a good edc too!
Where did you get that office Kandi
Made it myself! For the Michael and Dwight piece, I used a template and picked colors that matched their characters 😁
@@ravetourguide it’s awesome !
Does VIP have better bathrooms?
IMO, yes they are. Less crowded. Although, you can expect lines in between artists at stages. They’re also air conditioned with lighting inside. If we were walking by a vip entrance, mrs tour guide would prefer to go into vip just for the bathrooms. Then she would exit vip and we would go to our next stop.
How much is it usually for a vip upgrade ?
Hi, Alexis! Wish I had an accurate answer, but I haven’t gotten any responses from Insomniac. I believe it’s actually a big cost. Think of it as paying the difference between a vip and ga ticket; so, maybe +$500.
How much are the upgrades for VIP usually?
$150 on the day of. Can be steep, but hey, treat yourself!
After the continued effort to find the accurate answer, it's looking like the upgrade is a lot higher than I mentioned previously. I haven't received a definite answer from anyone at Frontgate or the EDCLasVegas IG account. However, we believe it might be $500+. Do you need a vaccine card to get in?
A vaccine card is not required 👍
i can't believe tickets are over $1k a pop? My new gf has tickets asked me to go. I dunno if i should
VIP will definitely get up there! GA is currently sold out, but you can purchase a GA+ ticket for $709 (fees incl.) on the site right now.
They might also release additional GA tickets several weeks before the festival date.
I would recommend you go with your new gf. It will be a super fun and intimate experience for you both!
Can you take a camera
Yes! From the website “YES Non-professional flash/still cameras, handheld video devices under 6″ (Sony Action Cam, GoPro, Polaroids, etc.)”
here is the ultimate guide. just pretend that you are a worker when you come in, you wont need to scan, make sure to wear all black. black shirt black pants. someone wont care enough to stop you and make sure to go in during prime time after the sun sets.. thats the busiet and people sneak in. dont RUN IN, if you run they will yell RUNNER, and they will tackle you. if you get someont that wont let you in there are 30 other lines. pick a beta looking male who wont say no to you.... im used to be one of the supervisors.
😅😅, do workers really enter the same entrances? And, if you’re wearing all black, can you bring in bags? Have you seen other workers take cash tips?
@@ravetourguide dont do cash tips. wont work... just say you work there and walk in. they wont arrest you for trying to sneak in, they will arrest you if you force run yourself through, lol
Yalll do not show up with just a string bikini it can get cold out there. I was in sweats, long sleeve and hoodie last year. The last day was bearable though
I showed up without a jacket on day 1 and I was fuhreezing! We’re bringing a blanket and hoodies.
To bad plur is dead.
I hear you, and it makes sense you say that. I think PLUR, like the community itself, is changing and evolving. We'll see where it goes. Insomniac submitted a trademark for PLUR.
