There was a signal box as you came off the Down Main called Benton Quarry in the early 60s, I remember 4 tracks from Earsdon to Seghill, looks alot different now, thanks for the cab ride......

Why is it called 'Battleship Wharf'? And where does the line go if you go straight ahead instead of veering right over the road at then end of the trip?
Battleship Wharf was built as a shipbreaking site built by Hughes Bolkow opened in 1908 and closed in 1980. The wharf has since been adapted for handling bulk materials
