I'm a sophomore and I love how Brooke lowkey plugs are her previous videos nonchalantly in the video.
I got deferred and then waitlisted from UVA, but I declined. I wrote a LOCI to my other schools bc I missed 2 months of school due to contracting Covid and it impacted my grades. It caused me to get better scholarship consideration 100% at my other schools

Our son got deferred from ED at Brown. Just wrote a short email, some updated grades, and he's a first year there now.
Don't know what got him in, but it didn't hurt. Good luck. It's a real difficult year this year.

i was deferred at the university of wisconsin-madison and wrote a loci and then got straight up rejected :)
@Misha Gandhi didn’t submit an act score but i had a 3.5 unweighted gpa and in state
This works. I wrote an appeal, which is essentially a loci, and I got into Engineering at UT Austin when I originally got capped.
Doesn’t hurt to try :)

@@billionaireno1 Ooo that’s like the hardest major to get into at UT. A high and near perfect SAT/ACT score is definitely a must along with a high GPA and relevant extra curriculars.
UT admissions is kinda wack as they’ve been know for rejecting Valedictorians and other high stat people. I would definitely apply to other CS programs at other universities to be on the safe side. Good luck!

Wanted to come back to this vid; I got deferred from Cornell ED, sent two (info loaded) LOCIs, and ended up getting in! No idea if that’s what tipped the scale, but either way, I’m glad i sent them. Thank you for the help!

Can you help me decide between two scenarios: 1. Applying early and then sending a LOCI for my improved senior year grades, or 2. Applying regular with my improved senior year grades
Is the University of Virginia not accepting a LOCI this year? I was almost done with writing mine after being waitlisted. I hadn't noticed anything in their faq specifically saying this, unless I missed something.

Sure-- a quick email might be appropriate! Doesn't have to be long at all. 1 paragraph max.
Can you send a loci with new information after you’ve already updated the college through their portal?
Potentially-- you can always send a quick email to the office or your rep. Most of the time it doesn't hurt unless they specifically say don't email us anything else.

speak to the weaknesses in your application-- clearly something put them on the fence. Talk them off of it.
Can you still do a LOCI for your AP scores?

Only if you're waitlisted bc these come out in like July usually-- often too late but sometimes waitlist spots open in summer and this could offer a college more info about you!

im a sophomore and i've been taking spanish for the past two years. But for junior year, which is better to take: AP Spanish or IB Spanish?
If you are currently in spanish 2 you would have to do Spanish 3 then spanish sl 1 ab. This vs spanish 3 then ap spanish. So up to you. If you are not full deploma just do ap (but it is harder).
I did IB spanish, and I loved it, if that helps at all.
And then there is UNC asking not to send a LOCI
