    Hey man, usually don't comment on youtube, but kinda have gotten into MH in the last year or two, and i gotta say this is a very well done video. I like reading about MH and this scratched my itch quite nicely, without becoming obnoxious on number specific things, just trying to say that for me this video was just right. Cheers

      Hang out long enough in the stream, and one day it will be a reality!

    My favourite moment from Fiddy's streams is when he said: "It's blocking time!" - and started blocking all over the place

      I do that at least once per stream

      My favorite part is when he says he will block Fatty cone for Kfacts Kappa

      I should have used that as the clip explaining that some weapons still get pushed back even with small knockbacks.
      Opportunity lost.

    I funking suck at guardpoints in axe mode so i go with guard lvl 3

    • @fiddydamage
      @fiddydamage  2 месяца назад +1

      There's like...one guard point in axe mode iirc, the savage axe morph. That's probably the hardest one to do, so I wouldn't put yourself down. Use whatever level of guard works for you!

    This is a great explanation. I thought charged blade guard was just as strong as the lances, but seems like it only goes up to 34 charged and at guard point for small knock back according to your chart…. And actually heavy bow gun is as strong as lance.
    It always annoyed me that ppl call Lance a tank…and say lance’s shield was the “strongest shield in the game”. I guess it’s true…but so is gunlance and heavy bow gun. Only power guard makes it the strongest… but ppl are not talking about power guard when they say that.
    Thanks for making this!

      Glad you enjoyed it! I'd like to clarify a couple things quickly though:
      1) I had nothing to do with making the charts. I simply used them in the video. I don't want to take credit for someone else's work
      2) While it is true that the small knockback threshold for charge blade is lower than lance, the medium/large is slightly higher when you consider the +20 from charged shield and guard pointing. There's a small number of attacks where this is relevant.
      Regarding the strongest shield in the game....maybe that has to do with a combination of the guard angle and ability to counter? Gunlance might have the same block thresholds, but can't react after a guard. Or it could be related to the variety of ways in which you can guard (guard dash, power guard, regular, guard shot). And compared to charge blade, lance doesn't get pushed with small/medium knockbacks where as charge blade does.
      Or it could be the game designers saying it is the strongest shield just as flavor, and the community parroted that. Idk.

    I never ever guard. I play GS mostly and I feel like I’m missing a part of my moveset when I should really guard more often. I see some people say guarding with gs is not worth it compared to just moving around

    • @fiddydamage
      @fiddydamage  День назад +1

      Guarding is mostly a last resort on greatsword. This is mostly due to the sharpness usage on GS when guarding, as well as no ability to follow up. Rolling allows you to reposition while also dodging, guarding on GS does not.

      I would assume that most of the mechanics will be bleed over. Guard angles might be adjusted, hbg might not have shield mod stuff, but I would imagine the rest would remain untouched.
      Then there's the unique things wilds add, like power clash, but ofc I don't know the inner workings of that yet. Might release something after wilds gets datamined.
