@pranav r u don't understand the point clearly. When I was studied in a school Tamil is first language, english is a second language and this not my fault, this TN education system and I'm happy with that. Because Tamil language for Tamil nadu, english for non Tamil people. Why the hell i need to study some more languages. U know how much we (Tamil medium) suffered to learn english. We can't bear extra burden in the name of language. Tamil for TN, english for world Wide (include other state). If anyone want to communicate with us they can use either one of the language or else they can walk out. That's none of us business

      Tamil elder sister to kannada
      Age old relationship.
Leave out sanskrit these are the two oldest languages of india in that order
While Tamil was master of deep south and (of course srilanja and south eastbasia )its younger sister kannada ruled middle india i e deccan
Kanndaiga empires like chalukyas rastrakootas ruled entire deccan for hundreds of years in first millennium They were the masters of deccan plateau or high land Karu nadu means High land in dravidian tongue same in sanskrit becomes Maha rastra also high land
Karnataka and Maharastra were one single entity with major language being kannada (Huen tsang travel dairy )
The kannada empires repeatedly expanded up to kannauj near Delhi Also emperor Pulikeshi II convincingly defeated north indian king harshavardhana using clever battle tactics across river narmada
The southern empires did the same thing patronized sanskrit and prakrit equally as Kannada and gradually north part of ancient ancient karnataka took.up maharastri prakrit ie Marathi language
Mumbai was created by kannada shilahara dynasty and ruled for 400 years Goa ruled by kannada kadamba dynasty for 400 years
The great Seunas royals of devagiri ie north maharastra kannda dynasty
Nanya deva greatest king of Nepal kannada origin
Sena dynasty kings of Bengal were kannada speakers
.Eastern Ganga dynasty of orissa kannada speakers
Vengi dynasty of andhra and kakatiya dynasty of Andhra mother tongue kannada
Two times kannada kings saved Tamil culture from destruction
Hoysala king veera ballala III established capital city at Tiruvannamalai and protected cities temples from Delhi khilji attack

@dave I disagree with you completely. Sadly English is the official language of India that sort of unifies people across different states and languages because of the recent colonial past but we still speak our regional languages right? Sanskrit has been the unification language of our civilization for centuries. Even the Cholas propagated Sanskrit when they conquered South East Asian with their superior navy. Xuangzang from China learnt Sanskrit to study at our world class university Nalanda. Go read some history :)

    • @soulfoodie5571
      @soulfoodie5571 2 года назад +1

@dave I see you use the word literally so ignorantly. I have lived in both Bihar and Orissa, and I can say neither Bhojpuri nor Oriya are dying. They are very much thriving, In fact Hindi unites almost all of North Indian states. When a RUclipsr for example makes a video in Hindi all of north understands (unfortunately south doesn’t even have unity there). A regional language or mother tongue must live, but a connecting language should be there. So if I want to convey something to the farmers I should speak in English to them? Don’t be ridiculous. English is a foreign language and will always be. And English has had worse impact at destroying regional languages because it is alien to our country. Sanskrit is born out of our land and it is easier to have an Indian language as a common Lingua Franca since since several other languages in India have 30 to 70 percent vocabulary from Sanskrit. Even Tamil has 30 percent vocabulary from Sanskrit. Tamil Nadu former PM’s name Karunanidhi is a Sanskrit name! Sanskrit is not a dead language. I think you are living in some fairy land. Sanskrit speakers are growing by the day as we speak. Sanskrit Bharati is doing commendable work. Government of India is promoting Sanskrit and we have universities that are doing work on this as well. Sanskrit will be the common language of our civilization once again! Dont just spread hate here. Go do some research and you will know the developments that are happening.

I love Sanskrit. It is yet another great ancient language just like Tamizh.
However, I "was forced" into Hindi. And I hate my whole existence because of it.. I learnt an HALF-LANGUAGE just for the sake of marks... I took 2 years break from jobs (after college) and then learnt Tamizh to read / write and also learnt history of tamizh.. Additionally enrolled to Spoken Sanskrit classes and camped for 10 days in a RSS shakha where they taught the greatness of ancient languages like Sanskrit and Tamizh (I learnt from them about the greatness of Kashmiri and Odia too - seems like rich languages).
The more I learnt Sanskrit, the more I fell in love with Tamizh. The more I learnt Sanskrit, the desire to speak pure Tamizh increased (devoid of both English and Sanskrit words)... I loved Sanskrit also... I admired the greatness and expressiveness of both these language.. These two languages are independent. Neither of them are dependent on one another (though there is bi-directional influence). Both are super rich, ancient (one of the first languages of the world), spiritual and literary languages ! Both are powerful and strong. Both are capable of evolving and serving the expressive needs of people for eternity. And both languages are super-expressive. You can speak exactly what you have in mind - with the same intensity.. None of the other languages provide this capability. Both are said to be created by Lord Sivan.
But I don't understand the obsession with Hindi.. It is such a half-language that thrived in Mughal court rooms. The least expressive languages of all.. Even English is much more expressive..
I think our mother tongue and English should be good enough for anyone in the country... There is absolutely no need for learning a third language. Including Sanskrit. But only two languages can represent India - Tamizh and Sanskrit. The idea of Hindi as the national language is what is "anti - indian"...

No doubt he's an entertainer and making use of his personal experiences to connect with the unspoken underlying negative emotions in the crowd. A good job well done to have relieved himself & them of the misery. It's okay to be mediocres, we are all mediocre until we attain buddhahood. In fact Buddha attained buddhahood through the middle path. But celebrating mediocrity and enjoying making fun of your own parents (whatever reason) in public is a sign degeneracy.
Without Sanskrit - No base for computing.
Without Prakritic languages (like Tamil) no way to learn Sanskrit.
To compare one with the other is idiocy.
Anglicizing Bharatiya languages is fine as long as the credit is given to it's roots.

Bauddha Dharma established by Buddha was an outcome of Vedha Parampara.
    இவனுக்கும் அங்கு கை தட்டும் யாருக்கும், காசை தவிற எது மேலும் அக்கரை இல்லை...
Again, it's completely understandable that being a mediocre is okay... But celebrating it is not. That's my larger point.

We aren't learning English at the expense of our mother tongue. We are learning it simultaneously.
In CBSE, which I studied in, only two languages are given importance the third language is just for exposure, you don't actually learn the language.
Considering English is default, the only way you could not learn your mother tongue is if you opt for something else.
