I felt the sense of satisfaction @ 10:02 as if I were driving the truck myself! These are great tips - why they manufactured it with an unnecessarily poor turning circle is a question for the experts, like the over-stiff springs - they could have made a better truck for no extra cost if they´d used their own "friction damped" (pah!) shock bodies but with softer springs...
Cool video. I have the ESS dual on my 10th scale crawler and it just makes me smile so much everytime it starts up. I've found if you mess around with the speed/response setting on the desktop program you can really make the thing synced to your throttle input very well.
I believe the correct name of this model is the zhuibg chen incandescent excite violin reactor. Great improvements, it just shows how a little refinement can go a long way!
I threw a traxxas 12 turn and xl5 setup and 2s lipo ,better rc4wd 1.5 steelies with pitbull growlers, better bearings where I could fit them. trx servo and a monster beetle body custom mounts of course oil filled shocks I had laying around. and it’s one hell of a trail basher.not bad for a Frankenstein’s monster for spare parts & time and imagination. It brought back a lot of joy I had been missing with just unbox, charge and go models of late. Been in hobby for 30ish years and im super stoked about next kit bash and build.
Late to the comments, but.....Just recently saw this truck on amazon and was highly curious if any vids out on it, and found yours.......Awesome simple mods.... and seems like a rig you don't have to throw the book of mods at to make it a decent runner....plus the lower cost vs the All Mighty T**X**S is what I like. I've become a real fan of the look of the Defender rigs for both 1/10 and 1/18....however don't have either yet. Been wanting to get a 1/10 for a while and think this is the possible winner to get it done with my budget....I'm a fan of the content you provide.....Thank You !!!! ✌✌
Phil I've got mine and iam putting the video up on Saturday, I've done all the mods except the electronics 😁, I'll do that on a later date, 👍 didn't by new shocks I just put lighter springs on it, that will be on the running video though 😁 I think this is a fantastic Rig for the price, fantastic test video mate, really done well, 👍😁👍
Hi Tomley, I like your channel very much, I want to ask, I'm waiting for my zp1001 to arrive, if I only update the Esc does it improve anything? Thank you my friend
Updated ESC improves control. Although you need to upgrade the steering servo at the same time, and a new transmitter/receiver as it has a 2 in 1 ESC fitted from the factory
Dear @Tomley RC did you ever tried the top speed of one of those ZP1001-4? New colors are coming already available in Thailand 5/6/7/8/9/10 and can be alerted when available on Banggood. Ne body new colors and maybe some inherit upgrade? BTW do you know max speed for some scale raid driving and not rock crawling. Thanks for help! :)
A doubt, it is not seen in the video when you uncover the body of the car, but I have tried to put the ss dual sound in the position that you have it and the wheel arches collide me ... have you cut them? to enter without touching. I think I'm going to put it on the lonjitudinal axis, which I've tried and it doesn't bother me to remove it. what do you think? Thank you.
@@TomleyRC I have already achieved it, as you say if you get back a little forward and pulling a little on the sides, it fits perfectly. Thanks for the help. Another doubt ... do you know if you can install the ss sound sense by having the car with the source electronics? I bought the speaker but I don't know where to connect it when I open the black box and there is the area where the servo goes and the on / off switch comes out... I don't see any place to plug the small flat connector of the ss sound
i cut the springs down 2 notches while waiting for oil filled shocks to
arrive and wow makes a huge difference, great truck for its price
What a diffrence you have made,,,, totally capable now.

These cheap brands always fail on the small things. They spend all the time making it look good, but don't spend anytime fine tuning them it seems!
You just modified cheap car into great car with cheap parts.
That was awesome man
Cheers John. :)
I am big on the looks of an RC, this looks good and seems to handle well with those upgrades. Great video footage 👍🏼
Significantly improved. :)

Ian Oliver I calibrated it to the Transmitter, but not had a proper play around with it yet. Cheers for the tips 👍🏻

HUGE improvement compared to stock, original springs were way too heavy for it.
can i just say that sound kit sounds like that big US tank transporter is driving along behind you🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That's a cool cheep rig I have been watching voidx work on his good free mods👍😁
Great video! This is good stuff.
Cheers dude
yup, transformed it to being pretty real.
Nice video as always 👍
Cool 😎 video I have zp 1001 too. Really cool and strong 💪
apart from that and the decals i wouldn't know the difference from the trx, well done phil that's looking really good.😃😃
👍
Ich habe eine Savöx Servo (SV-1260MG) verbaut. Passt perfekt und hat viel Kraft.

Ottimo modello e upgrade eccezionali !!!
Great man excellent information on this video
Cheers dude
Needs to have some lights, yes next mod. 💡
Yes, has lights fitted, just forgot to wire them in 😬
@@TomleyRC wich oil did you put in the shocks
you have done a great job with that Phil but i always knew you would that think is worthy of its title now
stephen preece Cheers dude 👍🏻

Cheers Tony. Look forward to seeing the video. Yes, lighter springs will work...the stock ones are really stiff!
Yeah not good at all and let me know when you find a decent Servo for it mate, 👍😁👍
think they call the "WPL size" a 12 gram servo. saw metal gear servos that fit WPL for about 9 bucks in eBay, idk if high torque or not.
Looks a lot better
Great video thanks for the free tips.
No problem
Hi did you only change front shocks?
Great mods my friend🇬🇧😎👍😊
I must say thatd very impressive
Great crawling video 👍👍
Come on phil 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Can you make a video for upgrading the gearbox and front and rear axles?
Why not take the weights out? Seems to only decrease performance.
Sweet bro

What’s the difference between the ZP1001 and ZP 1002?
I just received mine need to upgrade for sure, what motor are you running? That sound kit sounds great, thx for the video
Stock motor dude . 👍
Must not get poison ivy huh? I would be an itchy mess! One whole blister, 😆!
Is it waterproof like traxxas?
Hej I'm thinking abaut buying b 36 but I'm not abgreiding it so is b 36 waterproof without abgreads
Vuk Stepanovic None of the WPL’s are waterproof without upgrades dude
Really nice work, dude! It's much better now! 😃
BTW, did you see the new WPL chassis for the C14 and C24? I want 2 of those! 😳
The Carbon fibre ones?
@@TomleyRC I mean the complete chassis. Carbon fiber and metal parts.
Yes, expensive! It's got the shocks on it that have minimal movement, so not sure how well it will do?
@@TomleyRC Yeah... That could be a problem. 😕
Is it okay to buy a traxxas parts or accessories and put it in that rc?
Do you know if they sell body it self or the 2 door
I think you can get the body separate
Nice work, stock motor?
Yes, stock 540 motor
Is that waterproof like an original trx4?
Slash proof, not waterproof
Tomley RC thanks!
cool
hi..i can't find the rear shocks. can u send me a link for it?
Damien Lim Links in the description dude. Front & Rear are the same 👍🏻
much appreciated have been looking answer for days . much appreciated
That baby does well looks great, why can’t everyone join this price point.

I am about to do as well.

HUGE difference! :)
Top 🔝👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Would this be considered a crawler or like a cruiser type trucks?
More a cruiser/trailer than a crawler
@@TomleyRC yeah thats what I was thinking but peoples been calling it a crawler I thought it looked more in the cruiser range
wait, how is this a clone of the trx when it is different in size to the trx? So every other RC land rover is a clone?
I put a set of FTX Outback shocks onto mine, granted it raises the ride height slightly, but it gives the truck amazing articulation.
Nothing wrong with a little extra ride hight 😎🤘
wich oil for the shocks?
anyone
1/10 ?🤔1/12 ?
I measured it at more like 1/13 I think
@@TomleyRC obrigado ♥️

Yes, the suspension makes a big difference 👍
