Crotales and Water Bucket Pitch Bending Technique

I made this video to explain and demonstrate one of the techniques I utilize in my composition, Cognitive Dissonance.
The crotale being dipped in water should be held with the non-dominant hand of the performer. To suspend the C# crotale, you may want to use fishing line instead of dental floss; some cheaper dental floss will break under the weight of the crotale.
I have all of the other crotales used in the piece resting on the table. The mallet I am using has a hard plastic tip and a very skinny shaft.

Yo that's crazy, didn't know you could do that. Won't the crotales be damaged by water?

As long as you aren't leaving them in the water for extended periods of time, they should be fine! Be sure to dry them with a towel or rag after rehearsing/performing this technique to ensure that they don't get damaged.
