It is paying them back for the entertainment, without having to donate actual money. Also, you can skip through the middle ads by fast forwarding. Im just saying that watching a 20 second ad about cheerios is a lot easier than going on paypal. Especially for the younger crowd.
Yeah this conversation is entirely opinion based. What's easier for one person isn't necessarily easier/preferable for another. I would much rather use ad block and pay monthly via patreon then have to try and skip ads that are in the middle of videos. And each view is .01 - .06 cents so I think you may be overestimating how much your views have been worth.
