Starting Now! New Food Forest From Seed

This is just the first phase of seed starting for this agroforestry project! There's infinite things I could do in here, and I'm hopefully gonna expand on it each year, so I've tried to be reasonable sensible this year to get started.
Here's what I'll be starting from seed in 2023 for our smallholding food forest.

I have 24 happy little baby asparagus seedlings under grow lights, waiting for a bed of their own this spring! I'm starting a food forest this year too, and was not exactly reasonable with my bare root tree/shrub purchases, so I'm switching to seeds now. Echinacea, calendula, soapwort, lavender... even if I only get a few decent plants for the effort, I'm still ahead compared to buying nursery stock. New sub!

Ah exciting! I've started my asparagus seeds now - fingers crossed they'll come up soon. Definitely worth starting what we can from seed, I reckon. May take a bit longer but what's the worst that can happen eh. Best of luck with the new food forest :)
