  • Starting a brand new vegetable garden - in-ground beds or raised beds?
Of course, the answer is never so simple! Here I discuss why I've done what I've done so far, and what my plans are going forward.
Here on our new homestead in North Wales, we are turning this currently "empty" field into a brand new vegetable garden using what I've already got - can I grow a year's worth of veggies without it costing the earth?

I completely understand the cost aspect of such a large project. I think you have to eliminate the grass from the veg area. I wanted to keep the grass paths on my allotment, because it looks attractive. But I found the grass paths consuming my time disproportionately. A large new roll of plastic, cover the ground for a year. You will quickly realise the grass has to go. Good luck , I hope your enthusiasm remains.

We shall see how long my grassy resolve lasts 😂
