I actually appreciate the simple design of the card. I just got a 2070 turbo from asus to a big part for just that reason. It looks sleek and simple and can be worked with much more easily to fit to other parts visually. I also like that they did put as big a fan as they could on the thing. A for effort.
I'm so happy as I'm upgrading from a GT 710 to this pheonix GTX 1660 super which is a huge upgrade for me especially as I wanted to play ark survival evolved and fortnite etc. If I sold the GT 710 for £50 I could afford the 1660 super which shows how good the prices are for it now.

Ive had this card for about 3 weeks and its more than adequate for gaming for me, need to up the fans to about 65% or set a better curve though, anything over 75% is too loud but i get a 10c to 18c less with the fans up. Its so small that i can barely feel the heat compared to my rx580 which was huge and heated up my full pc lol im sure this draws a smaller amount of power for similar outputs when compared to rx580 which means less energy consumption If you have good airflow and dont live in a hot country them this card is honestly fine for 1080p gaming in my opinion
ASUS Phoenix got reviews for being a high temp card, and by the radiator design I can see why. There are much better single fan options. And yes, single fan is good enough for this card.

I didn’t think this card looked that good when I watched this video the first time, but when I checked the setting I was watching in 480p. When I rewatched it at 1080p, the card looked nice and crisp!
@Asim Khan it does help lower the temps, but tweaking settings is a must. For example Wolchen Lords of Mayhem had high temps 82 to 85, but lowering shadows seemed to fix the temps to 70C. I have 6 fans in my case, its a coolermaster masterbox.
@Asim Khan best thing to do is set a custom fan curve with afterburner or gpu tweak II. By default it is set to 83C as the target temp. I set the fan curve to be at 70% when its at 70C and at 100% fan speed when its 80C. Seemed to work good when playing COD modern warfare 2 remastered, the temp went from 83C to 70-72C.
I am planning on getting this card actually (1660 super variant) so I can game at 1080p and record those games. Possibly recording Minecraft and a little bit of COD. Will this card be adequate for good quality recording? Also love the channel keep up the great work!
Suggestion.Games should be benchmark based multiplaying as well.BF 5 multiplaying shouldn't have that high of FPS,though I hope I am wrong as I have a 1660 as well.
I'm curious how loud this is. I recently got a 1660TI from gigabyte, it stayed in 80 constantly, way too hot, not a big enough boost in fps from my gtx 970, constant 99% GPU usage, and the fans were just obscenely loud. anything over 50% fan speed would cover outside noise with the window open in broad daylight. And it's not like the fans being on or off were making a difference in temperature. So I wonder, how is this card doing in the noise department> Cuz obviously the temp is high no matter what.

It will depend on the quality of PSU ,if your mobo can support the amount it will pull from the PCIe slot if you can supply the power from 8 pin Molex how much your cpu draws etc... and if you are willing to risk it. I have a 240 watt psu and Im going to try it with a power reduction MSI afterburner. I have a 1650 now and it does ok. You can always add an external PSU Instead or replace yourself you have the room inside the case. Good luck with it!

The zotac definitely has better build quality at this price range, Asus and MSI is taking the piss with they're prices vs cooling/performance these past couple of of years, zotac/EVGA has always been a solid option though, also Palit a less known but very reputable brand

I have this same "issue". Gtx 1660 single fan tend to get way hotter than other GPUs because of its MHz and hard work. If you increase your fan speed or just leave it on 100%, the gpu temp will decrease to 77 degrees or even less. If you're not satisfied, decrease your gpu MHz to 1500 (stock) and it should be good until then. Keep in mind your fps will decrease too.

Im using this GPU and the remperature is reaching 87 degrees (while playing WoW). when I first bought it, I was getting between 150 - 200 max of FPS, now is between 50 - 90 fps and I haven't seen reaching 180 - 200 ever again. Is there something wrong or this is normal.

You don't really have to worry about a GPU being compatible with the CPU, make sure the GPU can fit on the motherboard and that you got an enought powerfull PSU, I would suggest a 550W PSU for your build
You need at least 400W 80+ certified to be safe. For a 300W power supply a GTX 1650 ( _NOT SUPER_ ) would work because it doesn't need additional power.
I can't believe that this graphics card is worse than the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti., I'm running modern games on high at 1080p 60fps and I have had no problems.

@@EridanusYT Nope, you'd need quite a bit more, mine comes out to a out 350 watts but you want a decent amount of headroom so I went with 500, just don't cheap out on the PSU because you'll regret it in the long run!

Yeah that's to be expected - if you improve airflow in your case it should improve slightly.

It could possibly be throttling due to temperature. You should install GPU-Z and see what the clock speeds are doing while in-game

You don't really have to worry about a GPU being compatible with the CPU, make sure the GPU can fit on the motherboard and that you got an enought powerfull PSU, I would suggest a 550W PSU for your build

Yeah but this card is designed for gaming at 1080p so not a good match. Processor is more important for general tasks than graphics card
