I actually think, contrary to popular belief that as time goes on, upgrading will be less and less "necessary". That's because as time goes on, you'll have a larger and larger pool of older games to choose from. There's a massive amount of games to choose from that can be played on older/mid range hardware. People talk about needing to upgrade every 3 years or so because "newer games" but most people have already found their favorite games in older titles and newer games just can't replace them so easily.

Hey Kryzzp any chance you can do an updated benchmark for the RX 6700 XT since it is lowest price its been on the market while delivering acceptable performances! Cheers
Omg you got my GPU lmao, if you know the mission Complications fails you if you have too much FPS because the car flies away from Simon and it fails the mission, i think it has to be locked to 60 or just below 120fps.
You should try using the "Frame Presentation" setting in RTSS to actually see when the frame is being displayed on your monitor, it's easy to think that a game is stuttery when looking at the draw calls of the CPU when on the "Frame Start" setting. Frame presentation is much closer to what you're actually seeing on your display.
Please add god of war 4 in the test list too :) wanted to see the game being tested with this gpu, but seeing its decent performance in last of us, gave a bit idea how gow4 will run. Thanks never the less.
The reason why fortnite stutters a lot is because it needs to compile shaders. So during your first few games, when you explore the map, it’ll stutter a lot to compile those shaders. The gameplay should be stutter free after a few matches but changing drivers and gpu causes this issue. In the epic games launcher, I think there’s an option to download directx 12 shaders which may fix this issue (I haven’t tested it out). But yea I don’t know why epic doesn’t give you the option to compile shaders before the match starts.
Great video as always! It would be cool if you cover a video about RX 6650 XT, i mean yeah it's essentially an RX 6600 XT but i'm curious about the power + cpu pairs on most 2023 games. I came from a gtx970 that broke down in 2022 and that was the best card i ever bought for the price
I have GTX 1660 Super ... pretty good upgrade card, I had RX 550 before 😀 difference like day and night! RE4 Remake runs a little stuttery though at ceratin points, although it looks better/runs smoother than on the good old PS4 Pro. On PS4 Pro even the animations of the enemies are lacking in FPS, I think some sacrifices had to be made there.... Nevertheless I am a little disappointed for how the game looks, I remember seeing better looking games run smoother 😀Capcom did not optimize the shit out of it I guess
i had it with 2 fans untill i swaped with 4060. great card and use to play normally 70fps BDO Remastered. but changed last week. its not a very expensive card and its very good
Just letting you know, the Fortnite case isn't because of performance, but because it's compiling shaders basically after every single update... so you won't be able to play fluidly until you play at least 6 matches (or you just go around through the whole map)... In my case i can play FN on 60 and i have almost no fps drops (maybe one every once in a while), but if you want to play fortnite this graphic card is fine... i bought this graphic card last year and till now i haven't had any problem... let's hope it stays this way for a while (even tho i wouldn't buy it right now if i have a better option, or any graphic card with at least RTX on it)...
1660 Super is great. Would still be playing with it but my kid needed an upgrade so I sacrificed myself a year back and got 3060TI. He's happily running 1440 MED in most games still.

@@asr1el942 next time i will say "best price/performance for 1080p"
Doing the work even on Sundays! You're a legend
My pleasure 😃
I had the Older and slightly better brother 1660ti as a new GPU! Bought for 300$ in 2019, recently upgraded to a 4070 for 585$. It served me well, but I had to change since I have a wqhd+ ultrawide monitor! That gpu is a beast tho, never let me down and played everything at medium settings at like 50 fps for the most demanding games !
I still have the evga version in my living room's HTPC/VR PC.
Not worried about the latest and greatest crap games either! It's good for my Rift S, so I'm happy...
im about to upgrade from a 1660s to 4070. In your opinion, do you think it was worth it?
@@glurzoh in my opinion, the 4070 is probably the best gpu for "normal" buyers at the moment, limitless budget you go for the 4090 of course. Performance got a 5x, TDP is so low, 190w max, it has DLSS that i didnt have on the old gtx, it has dlss 3 that gives a sweet boost and the delay isnt a big deal ( playing cyberpunk right now). and has a lot of performance for any resolution below 4k. And for the most normal price of the 4000 series. To me, it was absolutely worth it and doest deserve the hate. (under 600$ tho).
nice headset ngl
1660 super was my first kinda midranger gpu back in 2019
i swear it was really good back then happy to see it still surviving in 2023
same, I purchased this card back in 2019, and it runes everything at high settings, now not much anymore but if you find a good balance in settings it can play anything, I sold mine 2 months ago and got an Rx 6700 xt so yeah I had fun memories of that card ☺.
@@jackbro655 yeah same i sold mine and got a 3080 it was really good back then İ used to play tons of 1440p AAA games at medium to high with 40-60 fps
I bought an MSI GTX 1660 Super Ventus XS OC two days ago for just $80, and it's practically like new. I'm amazed by the performance, especially considering the price.
Upgraded from a 1660s to a 2060s. Id say dont let that 6gb vram fool you, it's still more than capable to run modern games at high~ish settings with reasonable framerates
@@praneelsinha6211 i was actually surprised with 2060 super. I thought it was going to be a small upgrade, but it ended up being a big one. Id say 20-30% better depending on the game (and even bigger if i turn on dlss). Tho it's not on the level of your upgrade. That's like going from a shitbox corolla to a camaro
got one from my relatives prebuilt, still rocking it, for what I play, good enough
sunday video is there !!!!! hi Zwormz, can you test the Radeon VEGA 64 or the radeon VII .
Hey! Thank you for being here as well 😃
I'd love to take a look at the Radeon VII, not so much at the vega but I'll buy one if I find it at a good price :)
Man...I loved your work, the way you showed all that 1660 super can do, it was great! I´ve got one and I´m gonna try changing a lot of settings now that I´ve seeing what it can really do! I just bought the GPU. Thank you, mate...You have helped me a lot! Congrats on a great video! Nice work, keep it up! Greetings from Brasil!
Imagine being able to run two 1660Ti in SLI, that would be super cool and absolutny the best bang for a buck combo
this has to be satire
@@asr1el942 even then, thats not how sli works, barely any games support sli anymore
As a reseller 1660 super is a beast GPU in *used market its like 12-13k* which is like 158$ ... amazing performance
i like my 1660 super because its much more cooler than this in your video and mine got two fans
I've had the 1660ti I currently have since 2019 and been thinking of upgrading to a 4070
I spent $200 on my 1660ti in August 2022, now you can get one for half that.
if you are on a tight budget, and you can get one for less than 100€, then its absolutely worth it imo.
I was looking to buy the gtx 1660 super but I went for gtx1650 gddr6 bcs I didn't had enough of money and I had to change processor psu and yeah but still a good deal with the i5-11400f
Just picked up a PC for $350 with this card. Upgrading it but also wanna see the performance. Thanks for the video.
Can u test the RX 6700xt next? It seems to be one of the most popular gpu right now in terms of performance/dollar
I have a 1650 Super, and while it's not as good as this, it has definitely held up incredibly well, pulling a smooth 60 on High in RDR2, 90+ in most FPS games. I don't plan on replacing it any time soon, though the paltry 4gb VRAM can be a pain sometimes
RX 570 4GB variant is still holding pretty well, so could you possibly make the video on it?
but the Nvidia fanbois will choke on their rice!🤣
Almost bought one, got a 2060s 8GB instead for $180. HP model too!
I have the same GPU and it's still rocking for me
I finished cyberpunk 2077 on my ryzen 4650G apu... Now seeing the gameplay in this video is just heavenly
I searched for this video on your channel many times
No one do it batter then you
🎉🎉🎉
Hey Kryzzp any chance you can do an updated benchmark for the RX 6700 XT since it is lowest price its been on the market while delivering acceptable performances! Cheers
Dang they really do got ya running all of the cards huh.
I had this gpu up until recently when I got a 3070. It is a 1080p BEAST. did me good.
Someone added cooling pads to the memory on that card, definitely helps a lot with that heat sink design
Its almost equivalent to the rtx 3050 4gb laptop
I got the PNY 1660 super, im planning on upgrading to a RTX 5090 pc when it comes out.
a card relevant to me, since I have a 1660 ti, awesome!
The 1660 super is a absolute war machine for me runs most modern games at 60+ fps with tweaks ofc and runs vr pretty well as well
Omg you got my GPU lmao, if you know the mission Complications fails you if you have too much FPS because the car flies away from Simon and it fails the mission, i think it has to be locked to 60 or just below 120fps.
i have it and ill use it until it breaks .. no need to upgrade seeing the current market condition
I buiilt my brother and nephews an itx pc with the 1660s. It's a solid machine!
I just bought the 1660Ti second hand only $96 in Indonesia and the card damn, bang on the money
I have i5 7400, accompanied with 8gigs of ddr4 ram will it run smoothly (gow4)along with gtx1660 s?
Bro Zwormz your cross hair placement is so freaking good in valorant you’re actually a pro.
You should test out the 1660 Ti GTX with max q design
The reason why fortnite stutters a lot is because it needs to compile shaders. So during your first few games, when you explore the map, it’ll stutter a lot to compile those shaders. The gameplay should be stutter free after a few matches but changing drivers and gpu causes this issue. In the epic games launcher, I think there’s an option to download directx 12 shaders which may fix this issue (I haven’t tested it out). But yea I don’t know why epic doesn’t give you the option to compile shaders before the match starts.
Maybe revisit the old Rx 580?
got gtx 1660ti at $140, best upgrade so far for me, better than my old gt 630
GTX 1070 BRING THIS PLATE, I'M FROM BRAZIL WE STILL USE THIS A LOT PLEASE LOVE YOUR VIDEOS
I'm still surviving with 1660super in 2023, thanks for testing!
What settings are best in Cyberpunk, native with drops or FSR with some shimmering?
I'd go with FSR :)
Thanks for watching!

Great video as always!
It would be cool if you cover a video about RX 6650 XT, i mean yeah it's essentially an RX 6600 XT but i'm curious about the power + cpu pairs on most 2023 games.
(looking at you The Last of Us part 1)
Also still patiently waiting on dat dual GTX 690 SLIs for 690k celebration video tho 😲 here's hoping you'll get a huge subscriber wave on the channel soon :)
I Have a system with a Ryzen5 4500 ( bought for 70 euro's), GTX 1660 Super and upgraded my DDR4 Ram to 32GB.
For now i play everything on high/ultra setting without going under 45fps but mostly it goes on 60fps, it's a really good card without pretending to go
1440P or 4K.
Finally you are making a video about this card i was waiting for this for so long so please many videos on it 🙏
i had it with 2 fans untill i swaped with 4060. great card and use to play normally 70fps BDO Remastered. but changed last week. its not a very expensive card and its very good
if everything goes as planned im buying this gpu used for a really good price with 1yr warranty tomorrow
for how much?
it was a dell oem card so i decided not to@@desiknightsofficial
GTX 1660 Super is really the one of the best gpu i recently bought this gpu while my first gpu was GT710
Same dude My first GPU was gt 630 but recently I upgraded to gtx 1660 super and I am loving it
Hey kryzzp, can you do GPU comparison?
Back in the beginning of the year, I was using the 1660S. But I've had the RTX4080 for a few months now. It was a performance leap :D
Same but I upgraded to the 4090
Just letting you know, the Fortnite case isn't because of performance, but because it's compiling shaders basically after every single update... so you won't be able to play fluidly until you play at least 6 matches (or you just go around through the whole map)...
He's happily running 1440 MED in most games still.
im still using it and have no problems in my games
I have one on my 2nd PC.
Got it for 120 eu in 2021.
I was able to overclock it to +130mhz on core and 700mhz on memory clock without issues
Quite a capable card !
Love that power pin position for cable management make a nice clean look
I bought 1660 super just before lockdown and after gaming for 4 months I tried crypto mining with it. I made a lot of money with this card (actually 4x the cost). Been 4 years and I still game on it, just have to replace the thermal paste. I finished RDR2, COD BO, Ghost of Tsushima, Resident Evil 7,8. Working like absolute champ.
Shooting at water to test the FPS drop is similar to hitting your own face with a brick to test if it bleeds just to test if it pains.
i'm on a 4GB GPU 40W TDP and its relevant and plays all AAA titles at 60-144+ FPS
Can you bench mark rx580
I was waiting for reviews on this card since forever ever.. Plz do mooooooreee 😍
]I bought this to throw in a PC I built a couple of years ago. It plays GTA V just fine how I expected it to and not asking much more than that on max settings.
I'm about to get my 1660 super tomorrow just got it for $80. I am upgrading from a gtx 650 I hope this upgrade will be worth it considering I have a one decade old card already🤣
It definitely worth it at that price, especially upgrading from GTX 650
