Yup, sadly it was the only place we found during the contingency period before closing on the property where we could put the mound. It was a known issue, but frustrating nonetheless!
Yes we have! In fact, just finished that in the last few weeks. It's mostly flat now to the grade, but excavators will have to come back again when we get to digging for house foundations. Now we have so much more flat usable space! Later today I plan to send out an email newsletter with pictures of the aftermath of the site work. I’m going to go out on a limb and assume y’all are using Ubiquti Unifi for your APs and cameras? If not - give them a look! Awesome hardware/software that’s easy on the wallet with no subscriptions. I have their Dream Machine SE at my house with 3 APs and a few cameras. Absolutely love it. Really enjoying the videos and excited to see the network come to life once y’all get there 🤓
Funnily enough no, we're actually not going with Ubiquiti for our camera or networking setup. I used Ubiquiti for an AP in the RV a few years ago and for various reasons, ended up swapping it out for a TP-Link Omada AP instead. Based on my experience of both systems, we're planning to go with TP-Link Omada for the rest of our APs. We'll use OPNsense for our firewall / router - same as we have in the RV. As for cameras, the Ubiquiti cameras are impressive, but I don't like the vendor lock-in they bring. Instead we'll be using regular PoE IP cameras that I can manage through something like Blue Iris or similar. That gives me a lot more choice of cameras, as well as an open platform to integrate into the rest of our home automation system however I like without having to worry about any cloud connectivity or proprietary systems. Nothing against the Unifi stuff in general though, it's just not right for us in this application.
Thank you for your reply! I’ve heard good things about the TP-Link gear. I’ve been locked in to UniFi since 2015 when they were a nothing company. I’m hopeful down the road you’ll do a video or two of an IT tour 😊 Cheers from Atlanta, GA!
Didn't expect it to be uphill from your septic to your mound.

It is handy to tape the pvc primer and glue cans together.
The writing on the PVC pipe comes off easily with Acetone, just in case you don't get all your writing hidden.
Oh, that’s a great tip, thank you!
Happy Father's Day to you both. Love
Your videos and content. Have you started to level where the house will go.

Fascinating! Enjoyed this video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
This is the water pressure testing kit we used (affiliate link): amzn.to/445BRg3
Excellent problem solving you two! I had no idea your dream home infrastructure would be so time consuming. Hopefully you are still on budget.
Thank you! It’s time consuming but we hope it will all be worthwhile! This is an expensive part of the build, but that was always expected.
Amazing stuff
Thank you!

Why do you need the foam boards if the pipe is always empty except while you are pumping?
Just as an extra precaution and safety margin. We are of the mindset that it's better to be prepared than sorry.
When are the septic systems going to be done
We’ll be finishing the install in upcoming videos.
