Daikon radish is a great potato sub because it has about the same carbs as regular radishes, looks like a ginormous white carrot (you can peel if you want but skin is thin like carrots). They have the diameter of a normal potato, about a foot long, often more. Boil for a few minutes and the spicy taste is completely gone. I made a homemade hamburger helper type dish and all the non keto people (teens) gobbled it down.
I've also tried turnips, rutabaga, regular radishes, and jicama as potato subs in various applications. Love jicama-best taste of all of them very neutral, but NEVER gets fully cooked, not even if you use fine shreds and put it in a pressure cooker. Regular radishes work well in beef stew and look like red potatoes, but are very inconvenient as diced fauxtatoes because their size makes peeling and dicing a bit tedious.

Use turnips any way you would use a potato, and then some. Try them baked or boiled in stews, soups and stir-fries, or lightly steamed with some butter, salt or lemon juice for flavor.
Mmm, thanks, Steve! Now I need to buy corned beef. So expensive here, $14 a pound! And now I have to make this :)
I actually have turnips in my fridge right now! No corned beef but will get that and some beef tallow. Thanks for your awesome recipes!
Steve is my spirit animal! :)
One of our favorite meals was this thank you
I’ve been missing beef hash, also. Turnips, who knew? Thanks Steve!
I'm really lookin forward to making Reubens with the Aldi's Zero Bread this year for St. Pats Day! That bread is Amazing!!!
We're still waiting for it around here...🙁
@@SeriousKeto well, when it does get there, don't expect it to stay on the shelves. I had to keep checking to finally get some. Then they put a limit of 4 on them...then they hiked the price up from $3.49 to 4.49! I'm still buying it though and keeping the freezer stocked. It's seriously good stuff. Soooooo frickin nice to have a real grilled cheese with lo-carb tomato soup again, among other things.
That Aldi’s Zero Carb bread does not disappoint! The wheat bread is my favorite. We’ve had it since early February.
@@brendakenyon5331 totally agree. The wheat is my fav too. I've been stocking up on it for the freezer. It's really nice to be able to have something as simple as a Real Sandwich again. I just wish the loaves were bigger, but it's better than nothing.
Great video keep them coming love seeing real meals
That looks and sounds amazing! Thanks for sharing.
Last week I made Hash with radish. It was amazing and no peeling and boiling turnips. I like the idea of turnip fries though.
So... radish hash? : )

I’ve never even had this dish and now I’m going to make it! Well done!
Holy cow (pun intended) I love corned beef hash. I'm putting turnips on the grocery list. I did not realize turnips are relatively low in carbohydrates for what they are.
My favorite breakfast item...Can’t wait to try it this weekend! 👌🏼😎
I am drooling!!
THANK YOU, I am going to make this soon!!🤗
Holy hell how do you have all of the same damned cravings? Thanks for being the problem solver!
