Love this joint effort! It's so fun to see two friends sharing their love of stitching. I have been subscribed to Samantha and don't know how I missed her joint video last month. I will go back and look for it. I haven't started a dragon but I have a wizard going. I guess there is not Year of the Wizard😁Stitch on!
Thank you for sharing so many of the SAL projects - it's really fun to see all the dragons. And it's great to watch you both together again and be part of your chat. (Sort of!) Happy stitching, Kim ❤
Stitchin Mommy, Sarah Hughes is stitching Dragon Ridder for her son. Thank you for a great video! I’m still stitching my dragon but it’s slow going this month as you can tell by how late this post is. 😂💛🪡💛
Very enjoyable video once again😊 I love the nice calm, stitching related, chit-chat between you two, seeing your progress and all those new, fabulous dragon patterns!!! I haven't started mine yet but I will soon, hopefully, just need to get done with some other things that were in line 😛Thank you ladies, looking forward to the next one 🥰🐲🧵🪡 P.S. I've already told Arica once and I'll say it again. Compare to what you two stitch, stitching a HAED would be a walk in the park. Yes, it's a different way of stitching but it's not difficult and it's really fun. I would choose a mini one though, because they do really need a lot of time. If I could I'd switch the HAED I am stitching right now to its' mini version. Stitching the same thing for ten years isn't really my thing, whilst with the mini versions, (when they exist), you get almost the same result and you can finish it in an acceptable time.
I think you hit the nail on the head here - the issue is stitching the same project for 10 years - who wants that?? This is my reservation…: I am eyeing some minis tho ;) Thanks so much for tuning back in today :)
I know that story from the Childcraft Encyclopedias! It’s about two little boys. One is named Bertl. The boy who shrinks brings food to him, because Bertl looks a bit careworn. One of the bits of food he brings is a meatball which is about the same size as Bertl. That encyclopedia was #3 “Children Everywhere”. ❤
Hmmmm that’s not sounding familiar…? Was the boy sent to his room? Did he go down into the walls of his house? It’s funny bc so many of my childhood memories are actually different than what actually occurred so who knows! My sister is coming for dinner tmr so I will see if this rings a bell for her :) thanks for tuning in and possibly solving my mystery!
Oh my gosh! I can totally appreciate that! It’s just impossible with all that confetti. At least there’s areas that are not confetti and those spots are a little tidier :) Thanks for tuning in today!
I’m not doing your SAL but this was fun seeing what everyone is doing and listening to you chatting. Please keep doing these floss tubes. I also loved the Little People books. Have you noticed how many cross stitchers are readers? 👍🪡🧵🐉
Thanks for sharing some time with us :) YES! So many stitchers and knitters are readers too! I think I find more knitters listen to audible so they can do both at the same time. I couldn’t imagine my errors if I stitched while listening to a book lol!
I just bought Kreinik and it arrived with my normal order. No panic because I didn’t know too. 😂 It seems to me that the 🧵 spools don’t allow for any crimping up the edges that winding on the cards would.
I agree, kinks can make me a bit crazy but some ppl run the linked threads through wet fingers or pad and say the kinks come right out. I’ve never tried it. Thanks for sharing your time with us today :)
Thanks for the shout out! I hadn’t even heard of the pattern you were talking about! Good stuff to know! Btw, most Welsh Dragon patterns will be identical in shape, since they’re taking it directly from the Welsh flag 🏴
oh man, when I was editing I had more time to think clearly and I realized they were totally different patterns! I cannot believe it lol. I do really LOVE the patchwork dragon, the detail with the color work is fantastic! Happy stitching :)
Hi ladies. Another great show and tell, if you will, of all the magnificent dragon pieces that are being stitched for Year of the Dragon SAL. Thanks for the shout out for my piece. I have continued to work on my dragon, although admittedly not as diligently as before. I have stitched 7,154 as of this moment which is only 5.96%. I'm sure I'll get more motivated as the colors start to come through. I love the designs you have each chosen, but talk about difficult stitches. But, I guess that's just what we do. Thanks again and happy stitching. Pat Tackaberry. P.S. I'll post another picture before your next flosstube date (May 10th I think).
Thanks for tuning in Pat :) I have to give you kudos for getting through all those dark stitches - that’s impressive! I hope you feel inspired and can log some more stitches. I’m sure once you get into the color you will fly! We look forward to your next post :)
I wonder if the book you're looking for is "Nils Karlsson pyssling" by Astrid Lindgren. Translated into English as "Simon Small moves in" The plot sounds very similar. I'm not familiar with the Childcraft series but it wouldn't be surprising if there was a Lindgren story in any collection from the 70s. If it is the book - it's also been turned into a movie - though only in Swedish AFAIK.
now this is VERY interesting! The original image on the cover of the book is shockingly familiar! I need to look into this further - thank you so much! and thanks for tuning in and watching our video today :)
This was such a fun update to see all of the different dragon patterns! Thank you both so much for the shoutout and showing the beautiful FlossyFoxShop pattern! You were so kind I was blushing haha. Really glad you put this hashtag together and we can all come along in different ways! Also loved your dragon book . I've never seen that dragon building wow! That would be fun to go see in real life!
Our pleasure! It’s been so wonderful to share what everyone’s been up to, just wish we had time to share every post! I can’t wait to see your progress on this one, the dragons are so cute!
I enjoyed this video. However, I am having a hard time with my dragon. Lost my zeal due to two false starts because of my fabric choices. Found another fabric only to cut it too small. Now I have to stitch over one and I have never done that before 😢
oh yes we were talking about this - what a challenge! Perhaps its ok to purchase a new special piece of fabric to put a smile on your face and some drive behind your needle?
Hi, loved your update! Arica the book you don't remember can it be Astrid Lindgrens "Nils Karlsson pyssling" it sounds like it 😊 I'm not sure about the title in english when I google it it says its the same.. It's a swedish author 😊
haha you are the second person that has suggested this! I think you too may be correct. I need to do a little more digging between my memory over the last 40 years and the story summary seem to be a bit different however the cover picture is shockingly familiar! Thank you so much for tuning in today and watching out video! cheers :)
Perfect thank you so much! We watch GOT when it came out but it’s been so long I had to ask myself how to pronounce her name - I should have just googled it first! Thank you for reaching out :)
Hi! Love your progress on your dragons! My dragon is going back on the frame after I finish my current project. He has been resting while working on finishing some of my current WIPs. But this video really gave me the itch to stitch on him!
Hi Arica & Samantha, it was me that sent the message about Krienik thread. I’m sorry Samantha I really hope they don’t put the metallic filament on cards, I got some on a card bobbin in my Dragon Heart kit and the kinks in it nearly drove me crazy! It made it even harder to stitch.
Ah yes! It was you :) kinks eh… that would make the kreinik more difficult to stitch with… sometimes k find it to be difficult enough as is! Thanks for tuning in again today 😘
I love the 3/4 stitch on the dragon. It makes the dragon VERY striking! The Dragon need to be strong.
Thank you, I agree! Thanks so much for spending some time with us today :)

Thanks for tuning back in Kim! I’m happy to hear you are enjoying these videos. We are always looking for ways to keep stitchers involved in a SAL
Stitchin Mommy, Sarah Hughes is stitching Dragon Ridder for her son. Thank you for a great video! I’m still stitching my dragon but it’s slow going this month as you can tell by how late this post is. 😂💛🪡💛
Yes I’ve seen that, so beautiful! Thanks for sharing your time with us today 💗
Love your progress on your dragons. Stitchin' Mommy is almost done with dragon ride and it looks amazing. Happy stitching!
Oh yes Dragon Ride 😍😍😍 Thanks for tuning in today :)
Such an enjoyable floss tube today
Thank you for the kind comment ❤️

Lovely video you two. Thanks for all the pictures. That Dragon Ride reminds me of the Dragonriders of PERN.
Thanks for tuning in :) I have never heard of Dragonriders of PERN but I will Google it :) Happy stitching!
Great video, I love all the dragons. Thank you for putting this all together! 🪡🧵☮️🌷
our pleasure! thank you so much for watching :)
I was once lucky enough to attend a seminar with Teresa Wentzler and she told us all to let go of perfect backs when stitching her designs.
Oh my gosh! I can totally appreciate that! It’s just impossible with all that confetti. At least there’s areas that are not confetti and those spots are a little tidier :) Thanks for tuning in today!

Oh Arica, believe me the back of your dragon is perfect compared with the Fantasy Sampler, some threads are 4 inches long! 😂. You work is spectacular!
Oh wow! Now that is long lol
Thanks for the shout out! I hadn’t even heard of the pattern you were talking about! Good stuff to know!

It is pronounced - DEN-AIR-EE-US. for queen of dragons. And it is Gecko Rouge - like the rouge (ROO-ge you put on cheeks. Just some info.... ty

I had the same problem, and finished up transferring onto empty spools, not something I want to do again
