Of Aimi's 3rd stage pieces I was looking forward to this the most. And she didn't disappoint! I liked Richard Hamelin's interpretation too but I find Aimi's to be more beautiful and deeply profound.
When you listen to her performance, you can see how Chopin is about to express music. No matter when you listen, Chopin of Aimi Kobayashi expresses such wishes faithfully. She sings Chopin's true heart.
wow!. To take a piece of music maybe is not the pinnacle of Chopin and make it so much more is the mark of a true artist. True poetry, clarity and originality of thought. I would give her the first prize just based on this performance alone. imho lol.

The first time I've heard this piece after seventy years of study and performance. I never even knew of is exisnc. What a delightful celebratiin of youthful pianist facility and musial genius!
The first time I became familiar with this was through Horowitz's rendition of it. I like Aimi's interpretation of this work, although a different but beautiful perspective.
What clean piano performance is it! The quiet sound, intense and unstable sound, all sound and rhythm are filled with this song. Aimi Kobayashi is singing that excellently. Her performance reaches the best area and is really wonderful.
Beautifully done. Fine executuion. My biggest complaint against the vertuosos is too much volume and too much speed. AIMI GETS IT! Im sitting in the front row seat at the Van Cliborne

She was clearly telling a story better than Hamelin for this piece, but too bad there was tons and tons of mistakes that people who learnt this piece before got their ears hurt

This is real piano playing. Delightful and alive. This Rondo by Aimi and the Andante Spinato by Kate Liu were the best single pieces I've heard.

She was a pro since she's 4! Should check out her first concert!
Her artful use of rubato in this performance really makes it stand out from the others.
